LMAO. I have never heard of a kid moving to Longview so they can play. It would make more sense to me if someone stated kids were moving out so they could play. We have several 2nd stringers that would start at other programs.

And bring a Sledge Hammer to midfield. -
Really, you’re going to talk noise about Longview. SS was the 4th best team in our district. They struggled to beat Hallsville just to make playoffs. You should be ecstatic to have made it this far. Even if Longview was to get “their clocks clean”, we advanced farther than you. Almost forgot, remember 45-0.

As a Lobo fan, the short drives were fun while they lasted. -
I coach a city league team (13 &14 y/o) and that is easier said than done. With select ball, the coach can cut a player at any point. The kids are more committed. In city league, every kid bats and must play minimum 2 innings and you hope you have 9 kids show up at games. I agree that select coaches probably are more knowledgeable than most city league coaches. Select teams keep the core team for many years and our city league drafts every year. They are able to spend more time and have more resources for their teams. If anyone knows how to teach hustle let me know? We yell at our kids to hustle all the time, but they don't care. Also, there are times we tell our kids to walk on and off the field in order to run the clock down. A strategy to minimize the time our opponent is at the plate.
