  1. Now that's the most intelligent thing I've heard from you. Good luck Friday to you all and Bullard as well. Good game I suspect either way.
  2. I"ll remember anything can happen if you'll relinquish to the fact that it wont take "anything can happen" for Bullard to win Friday. Athens may be descent. Bullard may be descent. But CH is in a league of their own. "Anything can happen" won't happen when the Dogs sting the Hornets. May be fatal. I think your fries are ready.
  3. Lose, loose, goose in the noose, chartruese, deuce......Panthers by a litte. Brown Hornets easy to stir up. haha
  4. A beat down??? Doubtful. Athens isn't your typical "East Texas Powerhouse" and a beatdown over Bullard would not be something to put on one's resume.
  5. you evidently haven't seen CH play. And if you have then you haven't seen Athens play b/c a victory by Athens over CH would be more than a stretch. Come on be serious. I understand homerism but to mention Athens in the same sentence with CH........ridiculous.
  6. I'm not a serial poster so this may or may not be "acceptable" on this thread either way here is my take on the "lawsuit" by the Baylor bunch. Since they played the "academics" card let me go ahead and play the "religious" card since Baylor is a "Baptist" school or denominationally related. Maybe Baylor uppities should refer to the "Book" they have based their entire existence off of. BTW, I'm a believer whether it benefits me or not. 1 Corinthians 6:1–8 (ESV) 6 When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? 2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial ... Just an observation....
  7. SH has had the best of the best. Rusty Robinette before Griff and Mike Gilbert before that. Hard to lose with the quality of coaching. Both of these guys are administrators now and just like in baseball two of the best.
  8. Im not trying to degrade the coaches but i am trying to make a point that just because your a good guy and you show the kids how to become a great man one day doesnt mean you have what it takes to be a "HECK" of a "GOOD" coach. I'm not typically a Smoaky poster but this topic is completly ridiculous. I just read the above and am BLOWN AWAY. Are you serious? A "Heck of a "GOOD" coach outranks becoming a "great man" And if that's not degrading a coach then it is at least armchair quarterbacking. I'd be proud to have a kid that was once a mediocre athlete become a great man. Not a bad trade off IMO> And for the record, Tracy is one "HECK" of a "GOOD" coach.
  9. ok, Here's an idea......when your superintendent (that you hired) recommends someone from a personel standpoint how about backing his recommendation. This makes 2 times that I can remember that this particular group has second guessed the leader of the entire district. When your kids are 5 foot nothing and maxing out what little potential they have and winning a whole lot more than most 5 foot nothing kids would win don't you think that maybe just maybe somebody is doing something right?? Are you seriously going to go game by game and coach from the stands (Tatum game)? Nothing you can do or say will make your kid (who is now probably in college and not worrying near as much as yourself about how much playing time he or she got or didn't get) a D-1 player. Let it go your kid is gone and WO is prospering under Blankenship. Is it really all about wins only?? Does character count for anything? Go get you one of those hot shot coaches that care more about winning than COACHING (Life Coaching). The reality is that after the 12th grade it's OVER for 98% of high school athletes. I think if you check the integrity records of most coaches disregarding W's and L's you will find Tracy Blankenship at the very top. I certainly hope those on the board have considered EXACTLY what they have done to not only a total professional and his career but also the effect this decision will have on his family. Sleep well. I'm completely disgusted and disapointed in a terrible decision.
  10. Adrian Peterson had a pretty good run. I know he hasn't done much since but just sayin. Must not be any Palestine posters off work today. :icon_neutral:
  11. Congrats to Bailee Callens Region III heading to State Meet in Round Rock Saturday. District Champ and 3 time regional qualifier. Proud of you Bailee. KSA
