  1. You can be assured Coach Norton and his staff will never overlook the Whitehouse contest. We expect the T-High staff will be reviewing films to the wee hours; trying to develop game plans offensively and defensively to attack Whitehouse. The same I'm sure can be said about the Whitehouse coach staff. We expect Whitehouse to throw the ball around a lot. Your QB as we understand is a D1 prospect so we expect a passing attack which will be hot and heavy. T-High job will be to see if the defense can get to him with either a four or at least six man fronts and still do a good job in pass coverage. T-High defense squad has some speed. From Whitehouse scoring patterns this season we would expect Whitehouse to put scores on the board in at least four different possessions in this contest. If T-high can keep Whitehouse to four scores or less it will be a good night for T-High defense. Offensively T-High has been able to score point on about 60%-75% of offensive possessions in every game this year with the exception of the Longview contest (bad day at Longview). We expect a good ball game at Whitehouse.

  5. It is the American way many times to root and pull for the underdog in any type of contest. So Jacksonville will have the edge in this category as they will assume the role of underdog in this game. It will be determined later Friday night if Jacksonville can use this underdog status effectively against Longview. On paper most of the cards are stacked against Jacksonville in this contest. I would guess Jacksonville is waiting on the river card to drop to get the win. Good Luck to both teams. We know both Longview and Jacksonville will support their teams both in victory and defeat.
  6. For the Whitehouse fans it may be difficult to deal with the actual perception which a lot of folks in 4A District 13 & 14 have concerning the events two years ago. Those seasonal campaigns are in the past now we must deal with the present and that will be foretold this Friday night in Whitehouse. We feel the Whitehouse coaching staff, players and fans are happy to have the game in Whitehouse. We always feel playing at home gives a team a slight advantage (at least one score). Maybe if the moon and star alien correctly next year and both teams make the playoffs and we meet again and Whitehouse team and fans can enjoy the hospitality of the new and improved Grim Stadium in Texarkana we look forward to that matchup also.
  7. Any time two football teams take to the field on any given day anything can happen. If the football gods are smiling on your team that day the ball will bounce your way every time. We have seen this happen time and again. Sometime a team can come into a game over confident and have too many mental and physical breakdowns early in the game which can cause them to press too hard to get back into the game which can cause additional mistake. We are talking about young men 16, 17 and 18 years old anything can and most likely will happen. When thing start going bad it seems it keep going that way(like falling in quicksand the hard you fight it the deeper you fall). Keys to this game for Longview. 1. Take Jacksonville seriously. 2. Run the ball and the clock. 3. Use Longview speed on Defense. Keys to this game for Jacksonville. 1. Go into game confident of a win. 2. Stop Longview run attack. 3. Stop QB options (Block down on Tight ends.) 4. Run the ball at Longview defense. 5. Score first if possible.
  8. To be fair to Whitehouse concerning the events two years ago as we understand it Nac was the last district game. It ended up with T-High playing Nac in the Bi-District playoff game. As we remember it Nac played T-High a tough game in Tyler that year. T-High beat Nac we don’t remember the final score but the game outcome was in doubt until the last quarter if our memory serves us correctly. It may have been a tough game for Whitehouse if all team players had been healthy as Nac was playing to get in the playoffs also.
  9. This poster would never make sure an accusation as “THROW THE GAME” if that were the case we are sure the UIL may have investigated such a claim. With all the facts at the time laid before us it causes folks to wonder. We may have been mistaken in undefeated season comment maybe undefeated in district play would have been correct sorry for the mistake. Anyway T-High will finally get to matchup with Whitehouse. We expect a hard fought game with Whitehouse and T-High players and fan are looking forward to the game. We hope Whitehouse has all your team healthy, injury free and ready to hit the field Friday night. We know this is going to be a good hard fought game either way it comes out.
  10. T-High’s opponents sometime mistake team confident, determination, execution and patience for being cocky. Two years ago when Whitehouse was plowing thru their districts play on the way to the playoffs. Many folks even in Whitehouse's district at that time felt Whitehouse relaxed on the last game of season after they had made the playoffs. One must wonder why a ball club that had been crushing every opponent until the last game would not want to have an undefeated season in the books. It just might have been a win would have probable matched Whitehouse against T-High in the Div 1 playoffs. This might not be the case but it does cause folks to wonder. T-High wanted to play Whitehouse that year because Whitehouse had an excellent team and would have been good competition going into the playoffs. Whichever team would have won that game; be it T-High or Whitehouse would have been stronger and better prepared to go deeper into the playoffs. If T-High had any cockiness in the team we agree with prior post it was removed by Longview game this year (one of the worse defeat T-High has taken during the Norton tenure). We feel the T-High team now understands that any time the team enters the field of play you can be defeated unless the team as a whole plays with the before mentioned confident, determination, execution and patience.
  11. Slade Heathcott (39) is out for the season with injury. T-High will miss Slade play both on offense and defense.
  12. We expect this to be the most probable starting Lineup for T-High against Whitehouse Friday night. Not the official lineup by any means but most probable. They are a very determined group of young men. TEXAS HIGH OFFENSE SE -Cobi Hamilton (14), 195# RT-Andrew Kelley (78), 324# RG-Reginald Ware (68), 316# C-Eric Stewart (59), 248# LG-Matt Schroeder (51), 262# LT-Jarius Dancer (79), 256# TE-Logan Preston (43), 185# FL-Roderick Collier (9), 177# QB-Nathan Sorenson (8), 193# TB-Kody Sutton (33), 186# FB-Clayton Godfrey (32), 196# TEXAS HIGH DEFENSE RE-Pharron Minnifield (48), 208# NG-Vonderrick Allen (98), 318# ST-Marlon Cooks (55), 278# SE-Jacoby Thomas (13), 218# SLB-Lavert King (5), 179# MLB-Cameron Evans (11), 195 # WLB-Raymondrick Brown (4), 216# CB-Jordan Strickland (21), 165# CB-Roderick Collier (9) 177# FS-Tarell Beasley (2), 175# SS-Montrae Williams (30), 186#
  13. T-High will be playing Whitehouse Friday night. This will be the third Division 1 prospective QB T-High’s defense has faced this season. (Phillip Butterfield—Lake Hamilton AR. commit to Tulsa Univ. , T. Rollison —Sulphur Springs a bunch of D1 school looking, B. Attaway—Whitehouse commit to SFA) All of these prospects were excellent strong arm throwing QB’s. As we have stated before T-High base defense is setup to stop the spread offensive. T-High defense schemes have worked very well for every game played this year with the exception of the Longview contest (heavy running attack). As we understand it Whitehouse will use a heavy passing offense (spread offense). We expect T-High to start defensive scheme with 6 in the box and try and pressure Whitehouse QB with this defense. T-High base defense has been very good against passing teams this year which has surprised many of their fans. T-High has been improving with each game IMO with their defensive play overall. IMO the T-High coaching staff is confident in their defensive schemes as well as the play of the defensive team. Offensively T-High is well very balanced between the run and pass play. 1666 yards rushing in 9 games, 1603 yards passing in 9 games don’t expect a big change in this offensive makeup for the Whitehouse contest.
  14. Longview 41 -- Jacksonville 6 per Massey rating. Expect game outcome to be Longview 56 -- Jacksonville 14. IMO Jacksonville would need divine intervention to win this game against possbile 4A Div 1 state champs.
  15. Massey has this game Kilgore 27 -- Marshall 23. Our model has it somewhat closer Kilgore 28 -- Marshall 27. Marshall is losing something in their play the last 3 or 4 ball games. Kilgore coming on like typical Kilgore teams.
  16. Massey Rating this game Sulphur Springs 43 -- Lindale 33. Our rating is Sulphur Springs 49 --Lindale 35. Sulphur Springs has not been playing up to potential in the last half of the season.
  17. Massey rating has this game as follows T-High 40 --Whitehouse 20. This rating is close to what our rating comes up with T-High 49 -- Whitehouse 21. We hope Whitehouse stadium can accommodate a visiting T-High fan base of say 2000-3000 folks in visitor seating. T-High always bring a fairly large fan base to all away games. Looking forward to Friday night game with Whitehouse.
  18. As of 10:00 PM Friday night. T-High Offensive Stat Games played 9 Rushing Yards gained 1666 (% of Total Offense 50.96%) Passing Yards gained 1603 (% of Total Offense 49.04%) Total Yards gained 3269 (Avg. Yards gained per game 363) Total Points scored 342 (Avg. Points scored per game 38) Rush to Pass Ratio 1.04 T-High Defensive stat Rushing yards allowed 1654 (% of Total Offense allowed 60.67%) Passing yards allowed 1072 (% of Total Offense allowed 39.33%) Total yards allowed 2726 (Avg total yards per game allowed 327) Total points scored against 171 (Avg. points per game allowed 19) T-High is scoring points on approx. 75% of the total possession per game. Many of the defensive points and yards were allowed by backup players in the last half of the ball game when the outcome of game was not in doubt.
  19. Site of the Playoff Games All potential neutral and home sites (town and stadium) should be designated prior to any coin toss. Using the Guidelines and Example below: Guidelines Constitution and Contest Rules: Section 1208: ATHLETIC REGULATIONS (p) SITES DEFINED FOR ALL TEAM SPORTS. (1) Home Sites. When two schools flip for two separate sites other than their home field or court, the sites are considered home sites unless both sites are near mid-point. (2) Neutral Sites. A site mid-point or near mid-point, or a site agreed on by both schools as neutral, is a neutral site. Unless mutually agreeable, a site cannot be neutral if its distance from either school is more than two-thirds the total distance between the two schools. Example San Antonio and Dallas have not met in the playoffs for the past 2 years: Step 1: Designate potential sites. San Antonio: Belton-neutral; Alamo Stadium-home. Dallas: Temple-neutral; Cotton Bowl-home. Step 2: Flip for type of site (either neutral or home and home). Heads for home and home. Tails for neutral. Comes up heads. Step 3: Flip to see who wins home. Dallas calls tails for home. San Antonio calls heads for home. Comes up tails. Game is played at the Cotton Bowl as the Dallas home site. IMO 13 4A & 14 4A schools are relative close so a mutually agreeded home on home arrangement seem to be the way to go. All teams and thier fans are happy to be in playoffs and will go anywhere reasonable to play a game.
  20. Longview has been the power in district play this year; you can't take that away from them (they are the District Champs). With that said T-High's defensive play over the last several years has been geared to stopping a spread type offense. The spread offense is the predominate offense used by most high school teams today. T-High base defense is designed to stop a spread type offense. During the Longview game IMO T-High was not able to make the game time adjustments to stop a pound it up the middle type heavy running attach mixed in with the QB options to the outside. Longview had some very big and good skill player to make this type offense work very well against T-High base defense. In fact T-High defensive was caught flat footed, off balance and out of correct position. T-High has not played a team in the several years with the overall team speed that Longview had on the defensive side of the ball. When the defensive players present the same speed as the offensive players requires an adjustment to game plan as well as additional block effort of offensive team to move ball and score. If and it will be a big if T-High and Longview meet again in the playoffs IMO game will be a better match between the two clubs. IMO Longview would still be the favored team to pull out a win. We expect Longview to play Nacogdoches, Waco, and Sherman before T-High appears on their radar. IMO Longview will make it to four rounds of playoffs. We expect odds of 90% of Longview making round four. We expect T-High to play Whitehouse, Waco Midway, Highland Park before Longview show up on the schedule. T-High has the tougher road to round four of the playoffs. We expect odds of 60% of T-High making round four. We know the T-High football team is working very hard for a re-match with Longview. Expect T-High Coaching staff to make defensive and offensive adjustments to position players and team for a completive game next time clubs meet. Whichever teams win this Region 2 will have an easy schedule all the way to Championship game.
  21. We expect CBS to provide both school systems (T-High & Ark High) CD's of the program. It would be enjoyable for the young men who played in this game to pull these CD's out and play them 15 or 20 years into the future when thier kids play in the game. We are in hopes that the school system will either make these CD's avalible or sale them to the public.
  22. We were lucky enough to watch PG's M. Wacha pitch against T-High this year in a tune-up game for both T-High & PG before both entered State Baseball playoffs. It was an excellent game and Wacha pitched very good. I can't remember if Turley or Heathcott was pitching for T-High but it was pitch duel all the way to the finish. Congratulations to M. Washa.
  23. Kilgore is a 12 point favorite in this contest. Good luck to both ball club.
  24. On paper Marshall should win the contest with Mt Pleasant. That said Mt Pleasant will enter the contest IMO with a great deal of pride. The MP Tigers skill player could play well against Marshall and give then some trouble. The QB for the MP Tigers is a good athlete and will push the Marshall defense. If MP had a little more size in both offense and defense lines they would compete with most everyone in 13 4A. Marshall should be aware of a wounded Tiger pride. If Marshall put ball on the ground more than three times they could lose this game. Expect Marshall to be 10 point favorite going into this contest. Good luck to both teams. Should be a good contest for the fans.
  25. Expected result for District 14- 4A Friday night contest Lindale vs J-ville -----------------Lindale 12 point favorite Nac vs Kilgore--------------------Kilgore 12 point favorite W-house vs Henderson----------W-house 17 point favorite Good luck to all the teams.
