Garrison is getting a great young coach in Craig Barker. We hate to lose him from Henderson but wish him and his family the very best. Our prayers are with you, Coach Barker.

Congratulations to Chapel Hill Buldogs on your victory in the AAA Division I Football State Championship game at Cowboys Stadium. Glad to see you keep that State Championship Trophy in the East Texas football family. I think most folks in Henderson feel the same way. We are proud for you.

How about John Settle? He did a great job at Brownsboro with the talent he had. But, he's probably making more money at Sunnyvale than Daingerfield will be willing to pay.

Smoakt, how about posting that list of multiple State Champions from the same district in same year. Thanks for sharing your wealth of information RE: High School Sports-always the best sports of all!

Those of us in Henderson are very proud of the Daingerfield Tigers and the Carthage Bulldogs on winning 3 consecutive State Championships. Congratulations to the kids and coaches at both schools.

Lots of us Henderson fans will be in Cowboys Stadium to support the Carthage Bulldogs on Friday. It certainly helped our kids to play the great teams in 16AAA; all of them- Carthage, Gilmer, Pittsburg, Spring Hill, and Gladewater. Do us all proud again, Bulldogs.

I think I heard somebody say, "It's great to be a Henderson Lion."

For the record, let's all be sure we understand. The Lions won the Semi-Final game because our kids have great heart, our coaches made excellent adjustments at halftime, #9 did a terrific job out of the wildcat, and our defense will not surrender! All of us hope #15 is able to come back because he is a true leader and there is nobody better to run our offense. We will let it ride with the "wildcat" or maybe even one of the 2 Sophomores that can play a little QB. All in all, I think I'll still go on to Cowboys Stadium Friday night just in case the Lions can find another way to win. NO excuses. Good luck to all the East Texas teams still in it.

:notworthy: Coack Meeks has proven over and over that he knows what it takes to rebuild a solid program. We have great kids who have worked hard and improved every week. The future looks looks bright. It is a GREAT time to be a Henderson Lion!
