Here's the ironic thing... PPl in Alba think that basketball is "their sport" now. The basketball has been just as atrocious at times as the football program has. Now, Coach Thomas has done a great job, however, Kids shouldn't just throw all their eggs in one basket. No pun intended. You cannot function successfully at a small school when kids are selfish and refuse to play multiple sports. You have to play the big three. Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Track should just be an extension of your offseason. Everyone does track. Truthfully, Until the kids and their parents understand the meaning of comittment to all sports, they will continue to struggle. It's not like Alba is turning out D-1 prospects in Basketball or baseball, so why specialize. And for the record, I'm a basketball guy!! But, football makes kids tougher mentally and physically. Better's your entire athletic program if all kids play!! Just my two cents!!

I guess that all makes sense. I guess after seeing both and all that shead has acopmlished that I feel he deserves a higher ranking. But, those guys that do all that stuff are the supposed experts right??

The ranking thing is kinda why this question came to mind. Seen both play. I would say its pretty much a draw as far as raw natural athletic ability and talent. Each have great physical attributes and have either started playing with, or committed to a major D-1 school. I just thought it was rather surprising to see Shead not ranked by rivals even in the top 10 in the nation in running backs. I know there was a lot of talk a few years back about Calhoun's ranking. So if this system is so solid then why is shead not higher? I believe he deserves to be!!

Just curious to see how you guys think Traylon Shead compares to Jeramie Calhoun?

I must say that I was impressed with all teams involved. But I think GS has made huge improvements from last years scrimmage against these teams. They were impresive both offensively and defensively!

Tappy, You are a straight runnin TOOL. You are by far one of the most negative prople I have ever seen post on any of these forums. You just keep watchin hoosiers, coach carter, and space jam. Keep livin the dream litle buddy. You'll get your own program one day when you grow up. Then you can see how difficult it really is to implement solid fundamentals. :thumbdown: It takes lots of time to see these things come around. Usually when a coach comes in, you won't see a drastic change until his first year 8th and 9th grade classes become juniors and seniors. Why don't you go find a 3rd grade little dribblers team to coach and keep the trash talkin and coach bashin off this site.

Well, usually in a small school if you are a freshman and are any good then you play up on the JV. So....you mad cuz you're still on the fish team?? What happened, someone not have a team to play your big undefeated fresh team??

You my friend are a tard. They have a better chance than a lot of teams. But, they should take it one game at a time and not be looking that far ahead.

You are right, but they finished the year off with two wins and improved each week. It's just funny to see someone talk trash that has a screen name representing a football position from a team that didn't win a game.

Gotta love those "Concerned Fans"!!! If you have made every game and every practice for the entire season then you have a little room to voice concern. Very Little. If not, you should probably just leave the coaching to the coaches and just be a supportive fan of your team wether they are have a good year or a down year.

At this point in the season talking about state is pretty darn stupid. Get a few games under the belt first...... like 10-15. Then try winning the district. MP Chapel Hill will give you all you want I promise. Don't count your chickens boy!!

So are you the CB that got burned all year long in your 0-10 season this year???? You're a fine one to talk trash. Alba is not looking so smooth on the court. Might wanna reevaluate the records before talking too much trash.
