  1. No one else in East Texas will ever have that many rings. The 8th one on the left pinky is a little obscured. It doesn't matter what class they are in, they have done it in the class they play. Just like Katy (8) and Southlake (7) have done in 6A and Aledo (10) in 5A. Not easy.
  2. Not enough emphasis here, on whether Klein Cain actually needs this kid in 2021. The KC program probably has other RBs moving up in their ranks, they may not be a Jaydon Blue, but everyone has to be replaced eventually. I'm sure that program will be fine in the long run. Blue made a decision, for whatever his reasons, good, bad or indifferent. There are other things flying around out there about why, no need to even speak about them. If Blue has any success at all @ UT, he won't be there two years before declaring for the NFL. That is this kids prime end goal, and he tell us this in his tweet. Believe me, he is surrounded by adults (his family included) giving him guidance to do this, they evidently have a long term stake in his future, if you know what I mean. Good luck to him, because there is still a long road ahead of that young man, there are still no guarantees either.
  3. https://www.corsicanadailysun.com/sports/gc-baseball-tigers-bounce-back-rip-nac-12-3-to-win-area-series-face-ennis/article_78c05828-b5d0-11eb-bd9e-9378ea76ab82.html Nac's starting right fielder was ejected in a long fourth inning delay that also saw a Nacogdoches fan get ejected by an umpire crew that was from East Texas.
  4. I understand Nac had a player and a fan tossed in the game.
  5. Marshall vs Highland Park Game #2 https://www.scotsillustrated.com/broadcasts
  6. Lufkin fans don't give a rats tail about Texas High, it's losing to anyone in the first round of the playoffs. Lufkin plays so well during the regular season, whether it be baseball, soccer or football or whatever, then boom the 1st round comes and we can't find our butts.
  7. I told everyone from watching Lufkin play WH and NAC, I thought Nac had a better team, and couldn't understand how WH beat them 3 times. It all proved out this weekend.
  8. It should not surprise folks, didn't shock me. Any 1st round playoff success around here of late has been rare. Why should anything else be expected now.
  9. They had three, the rest were on the JV team. The Lufkin JV was 24-4 and Lufkin Sophomores 23-1-1. All three on varsity this year will be back next season. Texas High did what they had to do to win and Lufkin did not. A big WOW to lots of folks. Hats off to Texas High.
  10. Lufkin got sandblasted 13-5 in the 1st game against Texas High in Lufkin. Lufkin used 4 pitchers, giving up 13 runs on 16 hits and about 8 walks. If there is any good news, Lufkin did not pitch any of their best three pitchers in Luna, DeJesus or Ditsworth tonight. Texas High is a great hitting team and knows how to play small ball to manufacture runs. Lufkin scored all 5 runs in the 4th inning and had 6 hits on the night. Lufkin is in a deep hole.
  11. Playoff Schedule Change Lufkin vs Texas High 6:00 Thursday @ Morris Frank Park in Lufkin 6:00 Friday @ Texas High HS in Texarkana 4:00 Saturday @ Benton HS Shreveport, LA
  12. Lufkin is 24-6-1 https://txhighschoolbaseball.com/5a/16-5a/
  13. Lufkin tops Nacogdoches tonight in a well played game, 1-0 in Nac. Great pitching and defense by both teams. Lufkin finished 12-3 in district and are 24-6-1 on the season. Lufkin girls softball lost 10-0 and 9-2 to Sulphur Spring in bi district play. Lufkin girls end their year at 12-13.
  14. Well, I can't disagree with you. My only observance has been when Lufkin and WH or NAC have played during the season. Lufkin is also loaded with sophs and their JV has been phenomenal this year. I see a continued rivalry, at least through next season with all three programs from Lufkin, Nac, WH and even Huntsville. We will see where everyone lands after realignment.
  15. The thing about 16-5A baseball, if Huntsville was in another 5A district they would probably have fared better. I saw them play twice, they are a decent team. They beat Jacksonville 10-7 last night. You know Whitehouse has beaten Nacogdoches 3 times in district, all close games. Lufkin beat WH 2 of 3. I still think Nacogdoches is the better team of the two when I've watched them both play in Lufkin. Hard to figure baseball. I mean WH only beat Tyler 2-1 on Tuesday???
  16. Huntsville girls are very good although the rest of the district was pretty average. Probably the only win 16-5A will get over 15-5A. On another note Mav, Lufkin baseball is 23-6-1. I know that's insignificant in the long run.
  17. Lufkin baseball had a 7-1 non-district win over Livingston on Saturday to put them at 22-6-1. Big week ahead for Lufkin and Nacogdoches. On the girls 16-5A softball side the top three teams are Huntsville, Jacksonville and Whitehouse are tied for the 2nd and 3rd spots. Lufkin and Nacogdoches play for the 4th spot on Monday in Lufkin. Lufkin has a one game lead and beat Nac 17-1 in Nac their last meeting.
  18. Lufkin got their game in at Tyler High today @ 4 PM with a 17-0 win. Lufkin Softball game was moved to Saturday because of weather, then Nacogdoches said they could not play at all on Saturday, now the game is Monday.
  19. 16-5A Baseball: Lufkin beats Whitehouse tonight 10-4 Huntsville defeats Nacogdoches 2-1
  20. 16-5A Track Final Team Results Girls 1. Huntsville 198 2. Jacksonville 112 3. Lufkin 103 4. Nacogdoches 101 5. Whitehouse 51 6. Tyler 50
