I hope you aren’t basing Henderson’s ability on a scrimmage? Henderson never looks good in scrimmages. Ever. We always get blown out in scrimmages. Every year. Then we got 4 rounds deep in the playoffs. We never run anything special and always very basic on D. We don’t run our offense, always basic. We barely run our 1s in scrimmages.

Surratt only wanted to move the game to benefit his football team. Period. If it wouldn’t have benefited his team he wouldn’t have requested it. All these other reasons people are stating are smoke screens.

The QB playing for Henderson tonight is who needs to be starting. The QB who started last week needs to be playing receiver. He is a D1 caliber receiver.

Henderson never tries to win scrimmages. We typically don’t score the points that others do because our coach is too busy trying to find depth. Our 1s see very little action in scrimmages.

Always good to be aggressive but he still picked up 10 yards.

Think I saw Carthage 9th won and Henderson JV won.

I agree. Wish they wouldn't do that against anyone.

Henderson did what they have done the last few weeks. Jump out big in the first half then come out trying to run clock and just protect their lead. They lose momentum when they do that. Henderson was up 28-7 at half time. The score would have been worse if they would have come out and continued to keep their foot on the gas. But they didn't and they almost messed up.

Henderson has several talented juniors and a handful of sophomores on varsity this year too. And their JV had been playing really good. This district is going to continue to be tough for a while.

The stands and field house will be finished by the varsity home opener against Tatum. There may be a few details on the outside of the field house that arnt finished but it will be fully functional.

Carthage's score board is bigger than ours. Ours does have a better picture though. But either way we are glad to have it.

It dosnt matter to me. Stadium looks nice.

There has been a lot of talk in Henderson that the game is at New Caney next week.

My understanding is the removal of the houses is finally fixing to happen.

I heard he gives about $4,000,000 annually to A&M. He was a whole building named after him down there. He was a distinguished alumni at homecoming this year in Henderson and now he is wanting to give to his home town. It's crazy. Newspaper said he gave like $6,000,000 for phase I and scholarships and more to come.

New Caney and Royce City. I also like the Mesquite stadiums. Carthage is one of my lease favorite stadiums to go to, as far as on the visitor side. Yes they have a big video score board but they have one small gate for visitors to come through or exit. That same gate is where you buy tickets to get in the game, so if you already have tickets you still wait in line. The restrooms continue to mess up and the concession lines are way to clustered. The worst part of it is it takes forever to get out of the parking lot, especially if you are on the visitors side. If you are in the lot closest to the visitors gate, and the stadium is full, might as well be prepared to wait 45 minutes to an hour to get out on the highway. I could see where the stadium would be good for smaller schools, but not for a larger school playoff game that will have a large crowd.

Maybe the best high school player I have ever seen was from Carthage.... his name was Dwight Smith.

He is a lot like Vanzandt for Henderson. They look and play a lot alike. Vanzandt was hurt the majority of his junior year and is putting on a show his senior year. No. 28 will be even better next year.

Way to many penaltys but now people can see how dangerous Henderson can be with their speed. Looking good right now. TCU is getting a good duo from here.

Henderson didn't play several varsity kids. Several JV kids played their scrimmage then played a good majority of the varisty scrimmage. Gilmer is good and will have a good season but they were still running their Starters at the end against several JV defensive players for Henderson. I felt sorry for some of the kids but it was good experience for our backups and JV kids. Henderson did play their QB a lot and he looked good. Henderson will be fine when they actually put their starters out there Friday. Gilmer needs to play their younger QB. He is good and is going to be real good.

Henderson sat out enough kids that it made it a boring scrimmage to watch for Henderson fans. Hendersons QB looked good though but there were several JV kids that played in their scrimmage and then played the majority of the varsity scrimmage. Gilmer needs to start the sophomore QB over the senior. He can play.

We didn't play as good as we have been playing and we still won 32-8. Not gone play a perfect game every week. OLine will be fine. Newton had 4 turnovers but that's football. Some were stripped by the D which is what a D is supposed to do. Newton didn't just cough the ball up on their own. This was a rough win but Henderson got it done. Newton is going to win a lot of games this year and Henderson will to.
