I am not a parent but a longtime Vandal Sports Fan - all sports. It's very obvious that you (sportsfan) have absolutely no knowledge, facts, or awareness of Van ISD. First and foremost, the administrative staff and all personnal have but one common priniciple - THE STUDENT. Any type of verbal abuse would not be tolerated, whether in the classroom or on the field. My association with Van goes back many years, and I have never witnessed any abuse of any student in any sport. You are completely irresponsible to quote something you did not hear "FIRST PERSON" - but apparently, from your previous posts, you have an axe to grind and have appointed yourself judge and jury. Coach Roberts has come under atack from people like you because he represents the coach you wish you had - passionate, supportive, knowlegable, cunning, committed, and certainly not worried about shallow opinions - like yours and all of the other critics. I hope that he stays at Van a longtime.

Gee thanks sportsjunkie for the clarification on what I posted. I don't recall any disclaimer stating I represented the Vandal Fans. But good that you made it clear since there are probably many readers scratching their head in confusion. Goods to have someone around to keep us all on track. You must be a jounalism major. Is that enough "perfect whining" for you? And guess what, if the calls had gone the other way I would have complained and have in the past. The officials are there to make sure the rules are applied according to the rule book, not re-write it and influence the outcome of the game with poor judgement and/or lack of attention. Did you see the game tonight? Did you notice anything about the manner of the base umpire - a true professional - not like the bump on the log we had calling the bases the last game.

Not stinky but questioning the inability of the base umpire to make the right call according to the rule book. He missed two for sure! Coaches right and duty to challenge a bad call. How about the Lady Vandals picking up and handing the catcher her mask and glove several times...and never a thankyou! Both the catcher and the pitcher acted like spoiled brats. It was all over their faces.
