  1. That's good to hear. Prayer does amazing things doesn't it? I know his parents are going to make certain that he is 100% good to go before he plays. What's best for him is what is most important.
  2. Tristan is usually the first TE to come in when they start rotating the starters out. Hovey will get the job done as well. Kyle Hancock blocked well when he was in the game Friday. Defensively, I think we'll see them try several different combinations until they find what works best. Friday, they were walking Will up to the line and sliding Lopez out on the slot receiver, while Jordan dropped back to the safety spot. There are several options. I don't think we have to worry about Harleton beating us with the pass. They are a run-first football team. We stop the run, we win.
  3. Alabama did have some weaknesses exposed last night. And yes, Les Miles blew the game for LSU. They had a great defensive game plan and pretty much shut down Bama's offense. Their offense moved the ball up and down the field all night. The aggressive calls he made are the things you do when you need to swing momentum IN your favor. They already had the momentum. You do that and fail, it gives it back to the other team. That is what happened four times. If Alabama doesn't learn from this and turn up the intensity next week, A&M stands a chance at beating them.
  4. Well doomy, Joaquin and Tenaha won't be playing in the first round, so that may help you narrow down your choices for that week. It's possible that the Timpson/ West Sabine game could happen in Center. That wouldn't be too long of a trip for you.
  5. There's our old buddy crowandeggs! We were starting to worry about you!
  6. It was pretty cool being there. People standing on top of houses across the highway. Some Timpson folks were pretty creative too. They had their trucks backed up to the fence on the visitor's side with plywood laid across the bed sitting in lawn chairs. They were jacked up about the game. Some of them were there at 4:00 to hold seats on the visitor's side. They also got there alot earlier than our people and filled up a whole section in the home stands. There were about 15 Timpson folks seated in front of the special "loudmouth" section. I apologized in advance for the beating we administered and for the fact that they picked the worst seats in the house to sit in. I hope they weren't offended. That's football.
  7. If Harleton beats Joaquin, and Timpson loses, then Harleton is District champ cuz they and Joaquin will be 4-1 with Harleton holding the head-to-head. If Timpson loses, they drop to 3-2, and will need Joaquin to beat Harleton to keep them in the #2 spot. If Timpson and Harleton are both 3-2, Timpson holds the head-to-head. I hope that clears it up. It's all irrelevant anyway. Our kids are gonna be fired up and take Harleton to the woodshed.
  8. Offensively, I don't think we miss a beat. Lance will move to QB, Tristan Hairgrove will step in at TE, and the train keeps rolling. We probably won't throw as much, but that's about the only difference I see. On defense, there will be a little more shuffling, and I'm not sure how. I don't think Harleton throws the ball effectively enough to hurt us. We get a few stops, we win. Hands down.
  9. The Timpson fans aren't likely to show this week. We won't see them again until they beat Big Sandy, and that's not a given.
  10. No. A Harleton win by less than 21 leaves it Joaquin/ Timpson/ Harleton. A win by 21 puts it Joaquin/ Harleton/ Timpson. A Harleton win by more than 21 makes it Harleton/ Joaquin/ Timpson. I don't see Harleton beating Joaquin, period, I just wanted to cover all of the scenarios.
  11. Ole BnE has been very quiet since Beckville came down here. Same with all of the Timpson posters, except for ttowngrad. All the rest of them are nowhere to be found.
  12. Absolutely! His parents are going to do what's best for him. He will stay out as long as he needs to. That's why he's still in the hospital.
  13. That's called a luxury skybox in Joaquin.
  14. Simple. Joaquin beats Harleton, they are 5-0 and district champs. Timpson automatically gets the 2 seed even if they lose to Big Sandy because they and Harleton will both be 3-2, with Timpson owning the head-to-head. If Harleton and Timpson win, it goes to a 3-way tie that would be decided on the points system. Timpson beat Harleton by 20, Joaquin beat Timpson by 34. The cap is 21, so for Joaquin NOT to be district champs, they would have to lose to Harleton by more than 21. I prefer to keep it simple and beat Harleton. It will be the 2nd time in history for Joaquin to be 10-0. The last time was in 1990. Tra Rogers and Jordan Powdrill's dads both played on that team.
  15. Word is, its not something that will require surgery, just time to heal. He should be home by Monday at the latest. Please keep Will in your prayers.
  16. It will be interesting to see how Timpson responds to the loss. I'm not sure on his status, but their best receiver, Jay Bussey, went out against Joaquin with what looked like a knee injury. That really hurts their ability to stretch the field and make running room for Lorenzo Young. Young is probably the best overall athlete in the district. He's faster than Hairgrove, and that's got to be scary for Wildcat fans.
  17. If you think that kid is out to stay, you don't know our kids very well. He's got three weeks to get healthy for a playoff game. Don't bet against him.
  18. Up until the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game, I thought the officials kept control of things. At some point, when things are getting out of hand like that, you've got to tell the coaches to take their teams to the sidelines and settle them down. Timpson let the wheels come off in the second half, getting 3 PF penalties on one drive. You've got to have more discipline than that.
  19. We're holding up the line at the crow buffet for you. How do you like it, blackened, barbecued, fried, or just lightly grilled? That "ignorant offense" did exactly what you said, straight up the middle, and sweeps to the outside all night long. Timpson's worst game defensively coming in was Mt. Enterprise, where the defense gave up 20 points. (The other 6 was on a fumble return.) Our ignorant offense scored 20 in the first quarter. The Bears played hard, but they just ran into a buzzsaw tonight. Hats off Rams. That is the best you've played yet. A big shout out to the RAMNATION. Way to stay in the game!
  20. Ready to see more of that tomorrow night!
  21. And the best part is, several of them have big brothers playing on Friday!
  22. My feelings are still hurt cuz I didn't get invited to the fish fry.
  23. Unless you smell alot of BS, at which point you will realize you are in Austin. At that time, I would advise you to drive East as fast as you can until you find REAL pine trees!
