  1. We will be living there as of the 12th of December, a week from now. Our kids will start school there after the Christmas break.
  2. Thanks for the info guys. We are looking forward to being in the community and getting to know some people. Anyone else with info about the schools, sports, or town in general, keep it coming. Thanks.
  3. It is no fluke that they are in the State Quarterfinals here man. Who gives a care who these teams played in the past weeks. It all comes down to this game Saturday. ANYTHING can happen for EITHER team!
  4. What was the score that they show? I still can't get it to show me. They picked a tie game between SS and Marshall and we know what happened there. Ties show you that the teams match up well, it just depends on who makes the least amount of mistakes. If they show Denison winning big, it will just prove that SS is going to have their hands full of RB and QB! Like I said, SS will have to bring it on Defense!
  5. I am a high school football fan that is about to move to Jefferson from Sulphur Springs. I did not keep up with Jefferson this year and do not know anything about their program really. Tell me a little about it please. I have a 15 year old/freshman son that will probably play next season that is a pretty good RB. How are things looking at RB for next year? Also, anything else good to know about the town in general? Love the town and the area and I am looking forward to becoming a Bulldog Fan.
  6. Lots of confidence from Denison shown on this post and I can't blame them. Denison, your stats for the year are amazing. I am a SS fan, obviously, but I think this game could go either way. I have payed much attention all year long to the Massey Ratings and I know that they are NOT perfect, but the accuracy rate is very high. This is how they compare the two schools, which I believe is based on regular season stats and not the playoffs, and it is very biased towards Denison...... Team Ranking in 4A-Div II - D 9 / SS 22 Schedule Difficulty - D 87 / SS 36 Offense - D 9 / SS 25 Defense - D 39 / SS 31 Power - D 10 / SS 21 They do not show any predictions for this game as yet (From what I have found) The only common ground we have seen from these two teams are the Frisco Liberty games and Marshall games. SS put up more points on FL, but allowed more points in their win and Denison beat a Marshall team that punished SS (although anyone that saw that game would say that SS beat themselves during that game). Could be the end of the road for SS if they don't bring it on Defense the entire game. If SS can halfway manage to contain the RB/QB tandom, they should be able to score enough to win. If they let the RB have a big game, it will go to Denison. I do predict a good game and say that whichever team wins this game could very well go on to win state. Lots of talent on these two teams. Good luck to both, with a little extra luck to my home team SS!
  7. I have to say that during the regular/district part of the season, that this smack talk between district teams is ok and fun, but we should all be on the same team now and cheering for each other as we did last year. I wanted nothing more last year than to see two teams from our district (SS & LV) win state championships in both divisions. That would have made things even more sweet! Now we are in the third round and have three teams still in this thing and a chance to do it again. Unfortunatly, even with wins this week, two of them (M & SS) will knock one or the other out. In honor of Thanksgiving, lets all be thankful we have made it this far and cheer each other on for these next four games and maybe we can pull off the district state championship sweep! So here's to Sulphur Springs, Marshall, and Longview. Good luck to us all! :highfive: :happy65:
  8. If this posting doesn't get someone suspended, what does???
  9. "Destroy SS", please! Sounds like you could be a player, maybe?? If you are, I hope you think you will be able to destroy Sulphur Springs. You will have a rude awakening Friday if so. The teams SS has beaten the last two weeks have said the same thing about stopping their running games too and they sure did look puzzled going into half time. Lindale didn't even get a first down until late in the first half. Confidence is good, but neither team here sure be too confident! There is not a premade trophy for this game.
  10. Most of us know all about Sulphur Springs, so here is what I could find on Frisco Liberty... Schedule: 8/28 - @ Brewer - W 56 to 45 - Brewer Record (3 and 7) 9/4 - vs Highland Park - L 14 to 42 - HP Record (11 and 1 and counting) 9/11 - Lovejoy - L 20 to 23 - LV Record (11 and 1 and counting in 3A) 9/17 - vs Boles - L 21 to 35 - Boles Record (11 and 1 out in first round in 1A) 9/25 - vs Denison - L 20 to 28 - Denison Record (11 and 1 and counting) 10/2 - @ Frisco - W 43 to 35 - Frisco Record (0 and 10) 10/9 - vs McKinney North - W 49 to 21 - MN Record (2 and 8) 10/16 - @ Centennial - W 45 to 28 - Centennial Record (3 and 7) 10/23 - vs Sherman - L 14 to 48 - Sherman Record (8 and 3 out in first round vs Newman Smith) 10/30 - vs Justin Wakeland - W 49 to 21 - JW Record (7 and 3) 11/6 - @ McKinney - L 14 to 35 - McKinney Record (4 and 7 out in first round vs Highland Park) Playoffs: 11/13 - Rockwall-Heath - W 49 to 35 11/20 - Lincoln - W 43 to 42 Massey 4A Ratings: Frisco Liberty Team Rank - 88 Schedule - 88 Offense - 56 Defense - 112 Power - 89 Sulphur Springs Team Rank - 30 Schudule - 41 Offense - 32 Defense - 39 Power - 29 Frisco Liberty returned 6 offensive and 4 defensive starters from last years team including their top running back and top reciever, but not their QB. They went 5 and 5 last season. According to MaxPrep.com, their team strength is the return of key players from last season and the team weakness is the defensive line. Sulphur Springs should be able to take this one 42 to 29.
  11. Massey Ratings has LK by 1 point in this game.
  12. From what I have seen, I would not call the ratings a joke. They have been dead on in our district (SS,LV,TH,M 4A) picks all season. Not only with the picks, but with the scores almost being a perfect match in some games and close in most all of them. I'm not saying I would lay down money on the picks, but they are pretty good picks. IMO
  13. I predict that Marshall will dominate Corsicana and then turn around and put Denison away as well. I am from Sulphur Springs and keep up with a lot of high school football and I am completly unbiased on this, but I think Marshall has the team to win the DII bracket championship. They dominated a very good Sulphur Springs team and will probably end up playing Sulphur Springs again in the 4th round (if SS makes it there). The Marshall/Longview/Sulphur Springs/Texas High district is the toughest in the state in 4A and swept the first round, you had SS and LV in the championships last year with SS wining the DII bracket, and these teams are all good again this year. Marshall is just behind LV talent wise and has the athletic ability to put it on any team they face. If I was Denison, I would make sure you take care of business this week and then plan on having your hands full with Marshall!
  14. Going into the game last Friday against Lindale, all the Lindale talk was about how they would run all over SS and put up big yardage on the ground. SS Defense stepped up to the challenge big time. It took forever it seemed just for Lindale to get a first down. SS just dominated Lindale. Lindale's QB did get a few good runs in, but they all came little too late. Already, the talk about WU is the same...great QB that can run all over you. IMO, he couldn't be much better than Lindale's QB. The kid from LD was great but you can't rely solely on the QB's legs against this SS defense when they are playing like they did last Friday. SS does need to limit Turnovers, but the defense has also shown the last two games, that they can save you even when you do. You can't find many teams in the state that can have as many TO's as SS did against HV and still win the game decisivly, and 3 TO's in a playoff game and still dominate the opponent. If they stop all TO's or limit them to one or two, they become that much more lethal to their opponent. Waco U is a very athletic, scrapy team all around, but should not be able to hang with SS who should be able to put up a decisive win Friday night. My prediction...if both teams play to their potential...SS 38 WU 17...
  15. Lindale sure was talking big going into this game and SS completly, 100% dominated them. Looks like SS district is as tough as advertised and dominated their oponents tonight as well. Next up is a win for TH over JV tomorrow to complete the district sweep. All of class 4A should be on the lookout for this district! Good job tonight SS. Keep it up. Keep that intensity and you can make a deep run. :happy65:
