  1. I think... West Rusk 49 Elkhart 48
  2. Tyner won't come to Overton... that would put him entirely too close to some of his family. LOL... I won't try to speak for him, but I'm pretty sure he is set in Tenaha. It would take quite a deal to lure him away from there at this point.
  3. West Rusk wins Bi-District in baseball for the first time in 44 years. (1967) The Raiders went on to win the Regional Championship, which was as far as Class AA schools could advance at that time. Congratulations to the Raiders and Best of Luck.
  4. West Rusk 13 Winona 0 Final (5 innings)
  5. Troup vs Kerens (2006) Bi-District... Defensive Coach's nightmare! Final score was Troup 61 and Kerens 52. 385 rushing yards by Chris Davis and a blocked field goal by Josh Tollett sealed the win. Incredible passing game by the Kerens QB and receivers. Fun game to watch... nightmare to coach defense in!
  6. I didn't think it was too big a mess before he got there. Just too much turnover in the athletic department over the last 8 years. I always said it would be a competitive place if a coach had the chance to build his program. Looks like Coach Sorenson was headed the right direction and it took four years. Who knows what would have happened in the next few years under him. Who knows what would have happened under Coach Tyner and his staff had they not been run off prematurely before Coach Sorenson? All those What-ifs! I still have fond memories of the people in Winona. Good luck to the new coach at Winona. I will be watching and pulling for your success.
  7. She was a very sweet lady. R.I.P. Mrs. White. I am terribly saddened for Travis, Becky and Coach White. Your family is in our prayers. - Jake and Wendy Jackson - Paul and Lynn Jackson
  8. Driller Park - Kilgore (closer to Tyler) Field of Dreams - Pine Tree Hallsville Marshall pretty nice ones... don't know how they compare to what you guys usually play on, but they are good parks and fields.
  9. OldSchool, Did I answer your post? I've gone back and re-read it several times... I'm not sure what you are stating or asking. Could you clarify for me. I think you are "slamming" liberal teachers, but I can't tell if you are lumping all teachers in the same category. To be honest... public school teachers are the last bastions of hope in the conservative movement. Ask Representative Gohmert. He pleaded with us to keep up the fight when he came and spoke to our school. I assured him I would!
  10. That's why I am not relying on TRS as my only source of retirement income. Fortunately, here in Texas, we are operating in the black and not the red, so maybe they won't come after all my TRS money. My parents have worked in a school district (for 25 years) that pays TRS and Social Security and they will not be able to draw all of their Social Security because the law says they can't. Tell me how that one makes sense! I won't be a bit surprised when they come to take more of the working class money to give to those who refuse to get off the couch or to those who refused the education that was provided to them for free earlier in their life so they could get a better job. Where is FIVEHEAD? - I bet he has a plan for this sort of thing! :)
  11. FiveHead, I have been reading your monologues, responses and thoughts for some time now. And frankly sir, I have come to one conclusion... you are right. Texas is one of the last bastions of hope for the conservatives and the religious right. I just hope we can hang in there long enough to see the tide turn or until the revolution begins.
  12. I, too do not want to see Obama fail if it means our country will fail, but I will say this... sometimes things have to get a lot worse before they will get better. I'm not sure the U.S. has fallen far enough to get people's attention. Maybe we need to be brought down a few levels to see what is really going on. Once again, I hate to see the economy struggle and people without jobs, homes, cars, food, etc... but I think most on this board would agree that many Americans have lost sight of what is important in life. God, Family, Country
  13. It's really simple folks... either you believe in the murder of innocent human life or you don't. All the hypotheticals in the world are just made up so that people can sleep better at night with less guilt on their heart. As for me, I'll stick to the anti-abortion stance and see where it gets me. (Good Lord willing, it will be heaven one day)
  14. No hard feelings... I think this was and is a healthy discussion/debate. I'm really not overly fired up... I believe you have your heart in the right place, WILDCAT.
  15. I don't want to overplay the religion trump card, but I have to vote my moral belief. And remember, not all our laws or freedoms are morally right. It is difficult to argue legal vs ethical/moral. Also, legal does not make it right, it just means you are not punished on this earth for doing it.
