I would have left Marshall High School when I worked there for Longview.  It was not a great place to work when I was at Marshall.  I hold no sentiment for Marshall ISD.  It sucked to work there.

I care about the success at Marshall HS, but I would have no problem or remorse working for a school that kicked their ### on the regular if it was a better work environment.

The town, for the most part, sucks outside of ETBU.  The people there are great, but I went to visit Marshall a few months ago to see my mother and sister, and I thought I would see some improvements.  Basically, the only improvements to the town have happened at Marshall High School and East Texas Baptist University.  Every other business looked like a swift 40 MPH wind could take down their building.  I honestly wish my mom would just move.

***All the statements above are my personal opinions and feelings about the town itself.  I don't doubt that people have tried to make an improvement to the town, but it doesn't show on the outside.  I understand that this statement may disqualify me from ever working at Marshall ISD in the future, but if it does, that would just be a testament of the current administration trying to defend the actions of a really bad previous administration dating back almost 15 years ago.***

Marshall has some brand new apartments on 80 East a new Quik Trip.

Rotation sir....if you was at the school practices you would know some

How can they start 3 freshmen o linemen when they only had 3 freshman on the team. An o lineman, reciever, and qb. Now you are saying they were rotating them. Apparently you didn't follow Lee. You definitely have no clue about what is going on.

  3. How many Hispanics are actually good at football besides being the punter or kicker? If you are not better than the players on the team. What good is it to have you dressed out just sitting on the sidelines. Just having a bunch of players on the sidelines who are not good enough to get on the field does the team no good.

Kilgore will have to lean on the defense early on in the season....offense will probably struggle early as we lost the entire offensive line and QB along with having arguably one of the toughest non-district schedules in the state to break in the new guys (Carthage, Whitehouse, Gilmer, PG)....but, with that being said, I truly believe Brooks is more than capable of leading the offense at QB...especially, after what I seen him do after being thrown in the fire against Needville last year in the 3rd round....as for the Oline I have been in Kilgore my whole life and there has not been many times I thought to myself, our Oline is terrible...that's something along with RB's Kilgore has always figured out and done pretty well at replacing!!...I think I'm just more excited to see who the new guys will be and also, to watch some of our defensive studs grow even more and continue causing problems for opposing teams ;)

Kilgore has to have one of the toughest non district schedules, if not the toughest, in all of 4a.

The good news is tennison didn't want to play quarterback last year and is very happy now he can play defense full time

Damn. He didn't want to play qb, but he excelled at the position. He played the position so great. He won a state championship. Not bad playing a position you don't want to play.

  6. It never dawned on me to see JT opt up to the largest classification. After seeing the district they put JT in. I wished Tisd would have had JT opt up. Might as well do it.

I never complained about the uil and how they do their realignment. Mainly because the Tisd schools have always been in a fair district travel wise. But after witnessing this. I'm pretty sure they don't have a damn clue on how to realign schools and what a map looks like. Now some schools are gonna have to travel. But being located where we are as in Tyler. It doesn't make no sense to put JT nor Lufkin in the district they are in.

let's call a spade a spade here. we all know Longview walks away with the DC as always.

Rockwall and Longview have had some battles over the years. With Longview coming out on top. It hasn't always been a cake walk for Longview when facing Rockwall.

I do agree. I have Longview winning district with Rockwall coming in 2nd. My response was to you saying Forney will be the 2 seed and everyone else fighting out it for 3rd and 4th. I guarantee you Rockwall will finish no worse than 2nd seed.

I know that wouldn’t be ideal, but if TH just opted up. It would take some of the travel time away. However, they would probably never make the playoffs again.

They could probably make the playoffs. Hell Lee made it. The difference would be the playoffs. Them making long playoff runs would be few and far between. Facing the Desoto's and Cedar Hill type of schools in the 2nd round would be to much for the Tyler schools. We are not on that level anymore.

  9. I've always said, just take the largest 7 or 8 schools in East Texas and put us in a district. We don't have to worry about DFW or Houston area schools anymore.

JT, Longview, Lufkin, Lee, Nacogdoches, T-High, Marshall, and Whitehouse. There you have it. They are in the same district anyway except for football. Lee being the lone exception since they are 6a.
