  1. I'm fairly certain this is only based on one year.
  2. 1. According to on3, they have the same number of 5*, and only 1 less 4* than Alabama 2. According to 247, they have 1 more 5*, and 2 less 4* than Alabama. 3. The primary thing separating them from both Georgia and Alabama in total rankings, is total number of players signed. 4. The ranking that was shared in this post was SEC tiers, not NCAA tiers. Lastly, the day you give Texas credit for anything will be the day hell freezes over. lol
  3. I would say that on paper, he seems like a mediocre hire...at best. He has more than 20 years coaching experience, with most of that being at very small schools, and he didn't have a lot of success at those. He spent one year at UNC and Florida, with his lone year at Florida being one of their worst years in a while. Personally, I think Elko could have done much better, and this decision has me scratching my head.

  5. Ole Miss will beat PSU by double digits. Missouri will beat OSU.
  6. Alabama will roll Michigan. Texas and Washington will be a very good game.
  7. How else are they supposed to change the program? Should they just sit back and accept that they'll only ever win 5 or 6 games a year? UTSA has only been around for 12 years, and they have more double digit win seasons (2) than UNT (0). Rice has more success all time than UNT. The point is, if a program is ever going to turn things around, they have to judge their coaches on something.
  8. I have to be honest, I've never watched this game. I know, I know, call me unAmerican, whatever, lol. I'm aware that the atmosphere is amazing. Cool. From the football side of it, however, and as a football fan, I just don't enjoy watching two bad football teams go at it with 100 yards of offense, and 10 yards passing.
  9. Or good, depending on how you look at it, lol. It could have gone down, lol.
  10. Gunnar Gundy has entered the transfer portal. I find that funny, lol.
  11. Texas's appeal to have Derek Williams targeting suspension overturned was denied. He will miss the first half of the Sugar Bowl. It's all very stupid, as it wasn't targeting to begin with. It was also the opening kickoff of the second half, where a touchback was called, meaning no time had run off the clock. He already missed an entire half of a game, which means he will literally miss an entire football game because of a stupid targeting penalty.
  12. I believe the way it all unfolded proves that the SEC would have been left out, if Jordan Travis were healthy. The committee was far more accepting of the backlash for leaving out an undefeated P5 team than they were had they had to leave out the SEC. They proved this when they still kept FSU at 5, over Georgia.
  13. I do agree that the QB gave them an excuse, but not an out. Again, they can't claim it was due to the QB situation, when they put OSU in the playoff with their 3rd string QB...who went on to win it all...while also still keeping FSU above Georgia. While that gave them their excuse, they had none for putting Alabama over Texas, which is why you see Texas ranked ahead of them. If Travis is healthy, FSU would be 3, Texas 4, and while you'd still have plenty of people angry, the committee would be 100% justified, and no one could claim bias, or argue that they're all spineless and clueless (well, we'd still argue that, lol).
  14. To not believe that is simply being naive. There is plenty of evidence to support that claim, just as there is plenty of evidence to support the claim it was all about FSU and the SEC, and NOT the QB. Had Georgia beaten Alabama, FSU would be the 4 seed.
  15. Texas was in the moment Alabama beat Georgia. At that moment, it became about FSU vs the SEC. Had Georgia won, FSU would be the 4 seed.
  16. I agree 100%. We can argue all day about who the 4 'best' teams were, and that's all that matters. That argument is all opinionated. The only reason OSU was chosen in 2014, is because there was no way they were ever going to choose Baylor over OSU. Even still, no one thought OSU had a chance, because they had their backup QB playing. They won the NC. Alabama had a great season. Georgia had a great season. FSU should have been in the playoff, seeded #3, with Texas at 4.
  17. There's one reason, and one reason ONLY that FSU did not make the playoff... There was no way they were going to leave the SEC out. Period. Once Alabama beat Georgia, the debate was never between FSU and Texas. It was always the SEC vs FSU.
  18. And let's not forget, Ohio State won the first college football playoff. They did so with a loss, and their 3rd string QB.
