  1. Thank you to all of East Teaxas for supporting the Lobos. I saw John Tyler shirts covered with great jackets and sweaters. Many other examples. East Texas is a great place to live and plays some of the best football in Texas.
  2. I said the same thing. Walking the sidelines and throwing passes as a little boy. You know his heart broke each time he witnessed his dad after all the heartbreaking losses. He gave his dad the best Christmas dinner ever.
  3. I was at the 86 Plano loss after watching our boys beat Highland Park at Texas Stadium the week before. So many examples like that. Temple at Pennington Field. Ect ect ect. We were down and my brother said weโ€™re going to lose, I told him no weโ€™re not, not this year. Haynes King cemented himself as the Texas AP HS Football Player of the year last night. What a great young man. No beating his chest, no I did this, no boasting or bragging. Just a humble, touched boy crying with his dad, for his dad, for his team and for his Lobo Nation for all the Longview supporters. We are blessed to have him and John King!!!!!
  4. 6A D2 State Champions. Iโ€™ve been watching the Lobos since 1977 as an 11 year old boy. Watched so many good teams lose at so many different stadiums across Texas. Shout out to Scott my fellow 85 Lobo and best friend. Drove in from northeast Colorado to support our Lobos, driving back right now. Thatโ€™s what it means to say we bleed green, thatโ€™s how much Lobo football means to us. We love you Longview Lobos!!!!! All our Lobos, past and present !!!
  5. Great job Lobos!!! WP4L great seeing you after the game. Love you man !!!! You said it 2018 would be a great year. Great, great crowd. Go Lobos!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Longview QB Haynes King wins Texas AP player of year honor 1 hr ago Facebook Twitter Email Buy Now Longviewโ€™s Haynes King looks for a receiver during Fridayโ€™s November 9, 2018 game against Mesquite. Les Hassell/News-Journal Photo DALLAS (AP) โ€” Longview quarterback Haynes King has been voted the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors high school player of the year. King is the seventh straight quarterback and 10th overall in 12 seasons to win the award. He was named Friday in voting by a panel of eight sports writers and editors who cover Texas high school football. The player of the year ballot included the 10 offensive and defensive players of the year from all five classifications of the Texas APSE's all-state teams. The honors are based on regular-season statistics. King, a junior who was recently offered a scholarship by Kansas under new coach Les Miles, finished the regular season with 28 touchdowns and one interception. He completed 123 of 177 passes for 2,414 yards. Longview is playing Beaumont West Brook for the Class 6A Division II championship Saturday. Including five playoff games, King has 3,252 yards passing with 39 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has rushed for 503 yards and seven more TDs for the Loboes (15-0). King has thrown for more than 6,000 yards in 26 games for his career. There are two Heisman Trophy winners among the Texas APSE players of the year. Johnny Manziel won the Texas award in 2010 at Kerrville Tivy before becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman with Texas A&M in 2012. Kyler Murray, the 2014 Texas winner with Allen, won the Heisman at Oklahoma this season.
