  1. Texas High with solid victories over Tyler and Denison, they are the favorites, hands down. Game tonight could have been much worse.
  2. They should come back, however, for many, many years L-E was lousy and lucky to win half of their games. It was stupid to schedule the difficult schedules they have had the last couple of years. I could see where transfers would be a problem with L-E.
  3. When I was a child the 1965 Texas High team. Started the season with an upset of number 1 Galena Park and became number one in the state. Went undefeated and remained number one until the playoffs began. Defeated Dennison and Dallas Hillcrest before facing Odessa Permian in Ft. Worth at TCU. Lost the game after falling behind and then rallying to just fall short. Permian went on to crush San Antonio Lee the next week for the championship. This was the first state championship for Permian. Some of the players from both teams attended U of Texas and were major contributors to the 1969 Nat
  4. Looks like this. Texas High, Mount Pleasant, Marshall, Pine Tree, Hallsville, Jacksonville, Nacogdoches, Whitehouse. At least Texas High should be the favorite and won't have problems with non district games anymore. Arkansas High and somebody else. This is football only.
  5. Sir, finally looked up this conversation and I was wrong. It was TXK85 who made the comment. You have my sincere apology. I should have been more careful before posting. Again, sorry to upset you.
  6. I very well may know nothing at all. However, one thing I do know is that you are "The Village Idiot." And just an FYI for you SeriousDogpoop7, its not what I know...Its WHO I KNOW.
  7. I knew it would not take long before you came out of the closet. Wow, your credibility ####. That is why you are the "Village Idiot." By the way, FYI, BN won a state championship and came close to others. Just saying. SMDH
  8. I'm CEO of my families company and I'm very busy. Don't have all day to spend playing on the internet. However, I mentioned that with all the layoffs in the Texarkana area recently don't be surprised to see TH drop to D-2. Then Sirius Dogpatch replied that the only layoffs were at RRAD and they would not effect enrollment at THS. I came back and replied to look at all the empty buildings in Texarkana and that it looks like a ghost town. I mentioned the Pier 1 building that has been empty forever off the top of my head. You replied with sarcasm a blazing that "Wow, that Pier 1 building
  9. No sir, never mentioned "conspiracy." Simply repeated what I was told, then was told by the Smoaky experts that I was wrong. FYI, the hired help was in the superintendent's office, you believe what you want. I don't care. But I was right.
  10. You may well be right. However, it helps when there is somebody within 20 yards to the receiver. If he had stayed home that play would not have worked. By the way, I was on the field during that play, were you?
  11. Well, to me you will always be The Village Idiot. Fits you. Hey, remember back in February when I said on here that THS would drop to D-2. You said that THS numbers were on par with Longview and Tyler Lee? You get a good one off every now and then. SMDH
  12. Believe what you wish, does not matter to me what you think. You do know the UIL does work with school districts who feel they are under travel hardship. That is very common in west Texas. Perhaps that is what happened. And trust me, I was not told this by the hired help in TISD. My family has very deep roots in Texarkana. But probably enrollment just dropped. The guys on "Leaving the yard" said L-E is down over 300 from peaking a few years ago. AHS is way down and THS is down over 100. PG only went up about 45 so much for open enrollment. God, a lot of people bailing out of that
  13. As far as Texas High dropping down to D-2. Last February I spent a few days in Texarkana and talked with some folks I know in administration and the principle of THS. They all told me back then there was NO WAY they were staying in that Mesquite district. Getting back on trips at 2 and 3 in the morning had a lot of parents POed. I remember being told "Whatever it took" to get back to east Texas. I mentioned this on Smoaky and with some of the larger businesses having some large layoffs that they would drop to d-2. I remember being mocked by Bordertown and that village idiot, Sirius radi
  14. Back thru the 60's and 70's Texas High owned that district. I don't think I ever lost to Lufkin. What killed the Texas High program was the opening of Pleasant Grove. With PG Texas High is close to the largest school in East Texas. And all that talent. I remember when Street and Norwood battled in 65. Norwood would have been the starter at Texas but he got into trouble with Coach Royal. Norwood was a better qb than Street in high school. He started the freshman team at Texas over Street. The talent in Texarkana is too spread out. Four high schools with pretty good programs for a town
  15. I played on that team. We talked about him passing before the play was run and the idiot safety still came up to the line when Campbell got the ball. I don't think anyone talked to that clown the rest of the year. He wanted to hide. Only other game we lost was to Arkansas High, in the middle of the Swede Lee state championships. We played in the first game ever at the new Arkansas High stadium.
  16. Again, just the facts mam. You prove my point about TAISD everytime you post a comment. Your command of the english language is something to be proud of. Don't know if you still go to school there or if you're a graduate, however, with that AHS sheepskin you should be first in line for the next opening at the Wal-Mart.
  17. Just don't park in a wannabe motorcycle gang members parking space and then kick his butt and you should be fine.
  18. What in the world are you talking about? These are all facts to show that there might be a large drop in enrollment at THS and they may drop back to Div. 2. O.K. I'll go get help but only if you take off the rose colored glasses.
  19. Houston Chronicle ran this story about a month ago on the 20 most dangerous cities in Texas. Sorry, Texarkana was number one. Tyler and Longview were just out of the top ten. These polls show what your chances of being a crime stat versus the population of the city. I'll admit your chances of being a crime stat are much greater in Dallas, Austin or Houston. But not very good PR to say the least.
  20. Your mouth is full of bunk. You obviously don't read much. The unemployment rate in Texarkana Tx. is the second highest in the state of Texas. We'll lets see, Harte-Hanks laid off over a thousand, Red River over a thousand and it is not going strong. The govt. wants to close that location and will eventually. Sears closed, Gander Mtn. closed, Pier 1 closed etc. Empty buildings everywhere. I don't live in Texarkana (thank God) and have not lived there in 45 years but I know people there that are trying to stay in business and I talk to them. My family moved our business out of the
  21. Maybe so. Some of my sources tell me that he won't have that long. And don't be surprised after next year they move down to Div. 2. When I was up there last winter went by the school and talked to some folks. One told me they will find a way to move down. Trips get into town too late at night. And with some of the large layoffs around there the enrollment will probably drop.
  22. Was not talking the quality of the team. He said the AHS job is better than L-E. I disagree. TAISD is in shambles and just like Texarkana Ar. is broke. Poor facilities, poor test results etc. Kind of a small (and getting smaller by the year) ghetto school.
