Yea that's crazy.. the consistency and S&C program is huge. and BB coaches not wanting to lift because "it throws off your shot" is dumb. You think LeBron doesn't lift... your truly dumb if you think that's the case.

Yea I'm sure they petitioned a while ago and not the day or two before realignment. It would change districts up. They knew going into this Desoto was gonna be 6A. Why it was hushed and just released... don't know.

Try and get a bond passed. There are ways to increase tax income without raising taxes its all about WDA vs ADA. Even though I think it is illegal that on all bond issues it has to say will raise taxes and that sometimes it doesn't. I think it should say what it is actually doing. Heck a couple cent increase over 7 years could get them some nice things.

When was the current high school or schools built. I'm wondering if building new facilities through a bond if old ones are 30+ years old would help bring more people and talent to the district. you can tag a new field for around 800K

Does anyone know when the current high school opened ? The history section has football starting in 1982. So was it built in the 80's or have they had a new one since then ?

Not a lot for a school that size, how long had it been open for ? Several small schools get 60+ in a few days.

Don't know, seems to be a lot of rule towns are going this way that 30+ mins from bigger cities ( Lufkin/Huntsville) where people are moving into those cities for work and to help with cost of transportation to and from work. Not a lot in Groveton to bring in folks for work.

Interesting job here. They improved ranking wise in district from last year to this year, but I wonder if that is more due to graduation by CC or them getting a better. Maybe a little of both. Still one and done running into district 11. We will see what they can do this next year. With Waskom moving down I wonder if this shakes the East Texas Districts up. Will Waskom falling cause the Beckville district or the Timpson/Garrison district to change?

The crazy part is the private citizens have to do.. the public won't a lot of the time. Look at Henderson stadium. It wouldn't have come to fruition without private help. New facilities, new high schools bring in folks. Athletics is a big of factor if not bigger than Academics when people move to new places.
