  1. Never seen better than '83 Dangerfield
  2. My kid would be fine just like the super kicker is. Just saying there's no need to be over dramatic with the "don't be mean to poor little Johnny" comments. I'm sure he'll get a trophy too, and I'll try to be more PC next time so no one gets their feelings hurt. Anyway, looks like super kicker will get a chance to make up for it next week.
  3. You're talking about the East Coast. Here in the upper midwest they over coddle players all the time. I thought I was on the East Texas blog. Sorry.
  4. He's not mean, you're just a wimp. I bet 50 people at the game said the same thing. We don't need to over coddle the super kicker
  5. Signs of the times. Use to be that the game was the entertainment. Real teams with tradition don't need uni changes all the time. Surprised Georgia got sucked into that power ranger look. Give me the Penn State and Plano High look and let's play some football.
  6. In general I put the burden on the defense to stop the play, but personally I would never intentionally run up the score to humiliate. That said, there could have been a number of things going on at that time: - maybe the play was designed to go to a player that works hard every day and has never scored - maybe the play was designed to put something on film for next weeks opponent to have to deal with - maybe the kid called it without permission and ran extra on Monday for it - I think some of the playoff tiebreakers involve point differential, so maybe that played a role - maybe it was a play the coaches wanted to practice for later under game conditions I know the Hallsville coach and he is not a jerk, so my money is on something besides wanting to humiliate.
  7. Actually 12 games. 5 wins + 7 losses = 12 games. Also, 5 < 7, so not good.
  8. I get your point but there is a little bit of apples and oranges here. First, Kilgore has never been as bad for as long as Pine Tree currently is. Second, back then the districts were larger and you had to win first to make the playoffs, so there were some long streaks. But really, I'm just playin' on here for the most part. We weren't that good, but still got some good memories and many have gone on to full and successful lives. By the way, Pine Tree was VERY good back then, and I hope these kids experience some success along the way too.
  9. Life is good. (even if the football's not, sorry couldn't resist) Good luck to everyone!
  10. Come on guys, lighten up. Pine Tree #### at football and everyone on here knows it. That doesn't mean you can't be a doctor, senator, or even an NFL player someday if you played there. At 46, I #### at a lot of things. A lot more than I used to. So what? Trash talking doesn't really have to be all that serious.
  11. On that note, I nominate Bobby Chadwick for Kilgore because he handed off to Robert Durham. STUD RB!
  12. I'm from Kilgore so have not followed all the Carthage guys as close, but you gotta include Audrey McMillian. Best veer QB I've ever seen in person. Played safety in the NFL, but was really smooth and fast.
  13. Okay, but someone has to bash 'em. You can't be that bad for that long and not get bashed. So I guess it's up to me. They're terrible.
  14. Kudos to JoaquinHighSchoolInsider for getting this back on track. Showing good focus and leadership. After all, Tigers are state champs! TDB was wrong!!!!!!
