  1. I think we are close to seeing the boys and girls tournaments being at different venues. Wouldn't surprise me to see the girls head to one of the "smaller" venues in DFW (Dr. Pepper Arena or the new Dickies Arena in Fort Worth). If that happens, the boys has a better chance of getting in an NBA arena. Hard for an NBA team to justify giving up back to back 3 day weekends which could equate to 4 home games.
  2. Tech looked good, Texas looked bad. Not a surprising result. That place was rocking all night. Texas moves to 56-64 under Smart
  3. It's way far out there, but if somehow the pitching staff can come back close to healthy, the Rangers are going to be better than just about everyone is giving them a chance to be. The offense was right around the midpoint in the AL. If they put up those same numbers, they'll atleast be competitive.
  4. Cooper as the deep threat, LJH in the intermediate and in the slot, and the ability to hand the ball off to Zeke, which almost guarantees Dallas WRs will see a lot of man coverage.
  5. I hope he gets undervalued and falls to Dallas at some point in the draft. He is going to be a stud.
  6. I'm not naive enough to think a truly big name coach would come to UT. I do however think UT can do quite well for themselves. You can do your behind the scenes poking with Calipari and all of those big names that some people think money can buy, but those ain't happenin. I also don't think some of those other names mentioned on this thread and others leave their current gigs. (Mark Few mainly). Once you are done daydreaming, I don't know how you don't start your legit talks with anyone other than Beard at Texas Tech. He has had great success there. I don't know if he'll leave. But I sure do want to find out. From there I'd go to Wojo at Marquette. Coach K disciple, has had success at Marquette, can flash rings at recruits and big names he has helped coach. And then just a personal one, because I loved watching his SFA teams play, would be Brad Underwood. But I don't think that is someone UT will target.
  7. As if I wasn't done enough already...I'm completely done with the Shaka era. I'll still watch, and I'll still get frustrated. But can UT PLEASE move on from this experiment. Zero growth in the program (from an on the floor results stand point) in his time here.
  8. Duke played like a young team who lost their National Player of the Year in the 1st minute. Definitely shook. BUT, that is no excuse for their poor transition defensive effort. I know UNC can run, by my goodness Duke rarely even put up token resistance on that end. Whenever & however UNC wanted, they got to the rim with ease.
  9. I didn't see the injury, but my twitter blew up when it happened. Obviously a wide range of opinions from nothing even minor to possibly done for the year.
  10. I've kept up with him, and for the 1st time since he has left SFA, he finally has a group that is playing like his SFA teams. They are pretty salty on defense, and are playing pretty good defense right now. And he is YOUNG this year.
  11. I think he was passing game coordinator or something similar.
  12. I'll be shocked if it is anything other than a dumb founding loss to a 6 to 10 seed in the opening round.
  13. Their grass has struggled. And from reading all the info from the Ranger's research...alot of retractable roof stadiums may look like they have good grass to the fans, but once you get down on the playing surface, it can be quite uneven at times.
  14. I am pleased with how the offseason has progressed. I think the front office has done a good job of 1) recognizing there was a problem 2) setting out a plan to fix the problem and 3) not throwing the plan to the side at the first chance. I also really like the hire of the new hitting coach/instructor whatever his title is. He's had some success and there is still a ton of potential with all the young guns in the lineup.
  15. Carthel has been very vocal about what he expects to happen at SFA, and the off season has went about as well as one could hope. Now it is just a matter of the off season success translating to wins on the field. I have always held the opinion that SFA is sitting on an untapped gold mine in East Texas. Why no one at SFA has recruited East Texas makes no sense to me. Like Carthel has said, draw a circle around Nac and don't let kids out.
  16. I think those are just added titles. Warehime will still coach the TEs and Naivar will still coach the safeties.
  17. They'll find a way to lose some in the next couple that will make it a mute point.
  18. As I've said before. Keller pretty much has all of "his" guys in there. If you are having trouble with them, its on you. It is not like it is Underwood guys giving him the trouble. Not good when you take the big step that was last season, and then come free-falling back in a hurry this season.
  19. How in the world you give up 98 points to one of the worst offensive basketball teams in the P5 conferences is beyond me. Get this season over with already. Wasting another lottery pick.
  20. They are extremely frustrating. You've got a probably lottery pick playing post. He is shooting the ball really well. In the 2nd half he went something like 17 minutes with only 1 shot attempt.
  21. I know from personal experience that early injuries to key pieces can really throw things out of whack...but compared to what expectations were going to be coming in, this has been a disappointing season to date. Things are pretty close to being completely Keller and 100% his guys now, and things are not currently trending in the right direction.
  22. Things are definitely on a downward trend in the basketball program at the moment. Maybe its just a rough stretch, and not a sign of larger problems to come.
  23. This is getting ridiculous. SFA has looked AWFUL thus far in 2019.
