is lee almost done?
Nowhere near! BOTH schools will be ready to move students into the "academic wings" early 2020. The schools will not be done officially until Fall 2021.

Cool
It's definitely going to be one of the BEST looking high schools in this area by a long shot!

Too much talent at poteet. Won’t change a thing. Still got them as the favorite for district.
They do return alot. It's going to be between JT and Poteet again for the district title IMO.

They played well against Lone Star.
What happened vs Cedar Hill, Longview, Poteet and HP?
I don't really consider Lancaster to be all that great...everyone expected JT to beat them and HP had already blown them out.
Like I SAID, JT played SOLID defense in the playoffs. Believe what you want

Against any good team on JT's schedule.
Man PLEASE! JT'S defense shut down Lancaster and a Frisco Lonestar team that SMASHED Lufkin's OVER HYPED team!

who knows, sometimes people say things when they are upset and having a bad season. When you win again, things change. With that said, they have to replace alot next yr especially on Offense. may not be as good of a season as this yr.
Very true

Talent and a chance to win a State Championship are huge motivators.
Yes they are

I was thinking more along the lines of Coordinators and position coaches.
They've been together for awhile. They're mostly JT alumni AND like being at JT. With that being SAID, if the right opportunity comes along, they could jump at it.

What's changed if that were to happen if you don't mind me asking?
I believe he was only waiting for his daughter to graduate if I remember correctly.

The big question for me, is the coaching staff going to stay intact?
So far they will be. I'm thinking Coach Holmes is going to be around for a few more years(yes I know what Holmes said last summer of 18). JT has some good kids coming up from the lower grades AND middle schools.

Kitan Crawford has offers from the following schools:
SFA
Houston
Arkansas
Louisiana Monroe
Memphis
Baylor
Good list to start off with.

Nah, Im going to give the privates a little more than that. There are probably at 7-10 guys who could play for Lee and at least 4 or 5 would start. There are 3-4 guys just at Gorman this yr who would have started at Lee. The QB Jake Smith, they got a transfer cb from Lindale, , and they just had a lb signed with a school. Another 3 or 4 guys at Brook Hill. Khalan Griffin (Brook Hill QB) would start at 95% of the schools in East Texas (regardless of class) and they have a big O-lineman that has a d-1 offer. Grace QB has some college offers too. I think your overall point is mostly correct, but there are kids at the private schools who could start at Lee and JT. And at the high school level 2-3 kids can make a huge difference.
But Lee problems could be coaching...not head coach but coordinators. I remember JT had a bad OC in the mid 2000s. They got rid of him and you saw a huge difference the next yr. Lee may need to do some tweaks to staff, but I would keep head coach.
I get what you're saying, but the private schools in East Texas are GLORIFIED jvs compared to the ones in the metroplex(obviously). I question Lee's coaching STAFF as well. They better step up or it could lead to problems for their employment.

There's maybe 3 kids at all 5 of those schools combined that would step on the field for Lee. Get real, ain't nobody leaving Lee for greener private pastures. Leaving because they want to win at Whitehouse or JT.

facts in terms of sports to....also TISD invested tons of money into new schools and they have rezoned. I'm pretty sure part of this was done to get back the students lost to privates and charters and attract new students . And it looks like its working. You combined the two high schools, those students are out. There is also this belief around Tyler that JT is a bad school, you really think if they combine schools, lots of Lee parents aren't pulling their kids. Tyler isn't ready for one school yet. Maybe 30-40 yrs from now, but honestly it will probably never happen due to size of city.
TRUE! JT is not a bad school, but JT does have a PERCEPTION of that. JT has been a CONSISTENT school on test scores a decade now.
JT runs a 40.66 in the 4x100 relay today! NUMBER 1 IN THE NATION!!!
