  1. I swear people like you are filled with more ### than a landfill!!! I didn't hear people stop sending the kids to Columbine high school when 25 kids where shot dead. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE MAKING A JOKE AND OF MAKING LIGHT OF THAT TRAGEDY!!! You act like that happens at JT all the time! The kid had schizophrenia! People with that condition can NOT be cured, just medicated and locked up! BTW, they can take their kids to private schools if they wont too if they feel they don't have the #### OR TALENT to compete in the Tyler public schools. JT has graduated many great individuals in al areas of life yet people choose to always castigate and racial profile the school into a box. That is the problem with alot of American society, run away from the problems instead of trying to go out and make a difference.
  2. Well I have watched 2 JT spring practices this week and came away feeling very positive about alot of things. JT is very young and that will show up some early in the season but JT has PLENTY kids(especially at the skill positions) to be a good team. JT will have a better defense than last year. JT's offense is similar to last year, but they will definitely have more options in the scheme this year. Those first 3 games are to be a real adventure, but if we can survive it healthy we will be a force when district gets here.
  3. I don't give a #### how you said it! IT WAS TOTALLY CLASSLESS!!! As far as JT's TAKS scores JT is on that ridiculous "no child left behind" list by the feds. JT has to meet AYP(adequate yearly progress) as long as they are on that list or face certain consequences. They are fine right now. JT has had a rough year on that side of things, but they will get it straighten out with do time. Now as far as JT playing WH on the field, WH is going to have to prove they have become a better team than the one that LOST to Lindale and Red Oak. Those are NOT elite schools by no stretch of the imagination. Ya'll say we should fear Metoyer, but WH still went an IMPRESSIVE 3-8 with ya'lls superman on the field. What I saw from WH last year was a team who could score but couldn't stop the other team at all at the same time and this was not against the greatest of competition.
  4. I think Parker took 2 coaches with him for sure. I know the o-line coach was one of them. Coach Compton offense has some similarities to Parker's, but there are some key differences as well.
  5. I am not going to go down to your RETARDED LEVEL right now. You are so out of line on this forum. Your sorry ###### team better just be prepared for the asswhipping they will receive this fall. Its people like you that I can't stand that make light of a TRAGIC situation. ABSOLUTELY NO CLASS AT ALL IN WHITEHOUSE!!!!
  6. Ok, but the bottom line is kids who want to be part of something will always find a way to stay most times. So-called trouble makers will always weed there own selves out everytime.
  7. MY POINT EXACTLY! Parker was a good fit for JT, but it was the PLAYERS who EXECUTED the offense to high degree, not some perceived genius coaching from Parker. All I have say is he better have talent at Spring High or he will get buried alive by the other Spring and Klein schools.
  8. You are right that Parker's scheme was a HUGE help to JT but you are DEAD wrong if you think it was him alone that was the reason JT won. JT's TALENT running his scheme was what help JT win. Any coach will tell you no matter how good of coach you are you still have to have the players to EXECUTE the scheme. Trust me I know alot of other teams who run the same scheme as JT with varying degrees of success. Parker was a good fit for JT no question at all, but he is no new football GENIUS or guru by no means of the imagination. I don't know where got that #### from.
  9. Is Whitehouse having spring ball? I heard from another website they weren't and was just going to do after school and in-school workouts.
  10. I agree with you that JT won't dominate all sports in 14-4A( JT's baseball program is pratically non-existent). The thing with me and alot of JT fans is how fast will our young team mature throughout the season. We have the talent and potential to be a VERY dangerous 4A team, but you know what they say about potential(it is unproven talent). Alot of people try to compare JT to Longview, but there are some key differences. True JT's talent is on the same level as LV but we are a totally different style of offense. LV has been FAR more stable in their coaching than we have for the past decade. JT is just got back to winning consistently in the last 4 to 5 years. Replacing Allen wilson wasn't easy. We finally have stability and a program in place. 4A will be a interesting new experience for us.
  11. It obvious Marshall fans have an OBSESSION with Longview. I suggest scheduling therapy sessions with Dr. Phil ASAP!!
  12. That is a good point, but I see this team still having better talent than that one. The big difference is the young talent at JT now is more prepared than that team was at that earlier time. Like you said Rush's staff has IMPROVED LIGHT YEARS since his first year. Brooks left JT in a bad spot. Another key difference from '07 to this '10 team is that these kids have won at the lower level( JV finished 2nd and freshmen won in a MUCH tougher 5A district). Bottom line IMO is that these kids EXPECT TO WIN NOT HOPE TO WIN! Trust me that there is a big difference in HOPING to win and EXPECTING to win. Those are 2 TOTALLY different mind-sets. JT's has matured alot as a program. That is how elite programs stay on top when they have only 2 to 6 starters returning(aka Euless Trinity in '09). Elite programs like Trinity, Lake Travis, Longview, Katy, SLC, and etc. don't win just becuase of talent. They win because it is already programmed and trained in their kids to win. They EXPECT to win and so they practice and play off that mind-set. That is how Allen wilson ran JT back in the 90s. The real question really about this team is how quickly can they mature not if. IMO I feel this team is better prepared to answer that question.
  13. Well spring football started this week for some 5A and 4a schools(Waxahachie, SLC, and Trinity to name a few). JT will start May 5th and have their spring game the last week of school. I read on a rivals.com site that was interviewing Whitehouse safety Qunicy Aldridge that Whitehouse will not be having spring football this year instead they will just workout in t-shirts and shorts during their school period. So when does the other teams plan to do this spring?
  14. That rivals.com page has some errors on it. Julius Johnson left JT before last season started and Fred Smith's page wrong. He is 6ft 5 and weighs 330 now and his bench press and squat numbers are wrong as well. I am really just nit-picking because that info. on that page is old somewhat.
  15. JT played Marshall last year in basketball beating them by 8 on varsity and our JV beat them by 20 plus points. Our soccer team has been in the playoffs 2 years running and will be fine. In football, JT lost most of their SKILL players from last year, but we return a decent number on the lines. That is where we will be young at mostly. JT's o-line will most likely have the biggest o-line in 14-4A. JT will average between 270 to 285 across the line. In fact JT will have 2 300 plus pounders out there. I know size isn't everything but it will help. Like I said earlier, David Bush will definitely be a big-time player for us. He will be a difference maker I gurantee it. I am not underestimating the teams in this district, but I just see JT having some advantages in some areas despite their youth.
  16. JT will definitely be a force in football and basketball without a doubt. On the football side, Jt will be a very young team this upcoming season(JT returns 2 starters on O and about 7 on D). JT's JV came in 2nd in 11-5A and their freshmen won the district. We have 2 players committed to TCU(QB/WR David Bush and Safety Chriss Hackett). JT runs a spread-option offense, but we have a new OC and he is adding his own style to JT's offense which 14-4A teams will see in district play. JT's strength though this year should be their defense. JT returns 2 DTs, 1 DE, 2 LBs and 2 Safeties. My biggest concern is their overall inexperience on friday nights. Our QB, David Bush, is very athletic and has a decent arm. He will be the guy teams in 14-4A are going to have to watch because this kid can be very dangerous if left un checked. I like the overall talent on this team but it will take some time for them to gel. JT will be a very quick team on across the board. Now I don't think they will be as powerful on offense like last year's monster but they will still score some points i believe once they get the right people in place. JT's preseason is very tough(scrimmage Desoto, play Lufkin, Longview, and Lee back to back). JT might start the year off slow but they will definitely have it going by district.
  17. You also have to understand what JT had back during the Wilson era. Wilson's system as a whole would NOT work at 90% of the schools in this state right now without some modifications. Some JT fans still wish he was still at Jt but his system would not work very well with today's kids at JT. JT doesn't have the offensive linemen to run that brand of smashmouth offense like back in the 90s. That is the main reason JT runs variations of the spread offense. The spread is a very good equalizer for teams who don't have as much talent as other teams. That is the issue I see with Whitehouse. WH has OK skill players but they are getting beat up in the trenches and interior of their defense. Their O isn't making things better because they don't have "grinding" running game to supplement their passing game. In other words, they can score all day but their D is left high and dry because they are on the field too long and that will wear down even the best defenses. JT's D last year was not a shut down D but it was a very effective and oppurtunistic D(they took what you gave them). Bottom line it comes back to what type of talent you have though.
  18. My mock 14-4A predictions are: 1. JT-district champ and top D1 seed 2. Marshall-has talent and a close 2nd to JT 3. Jacksonville-returns alot from last year; will be top d2 seed 4.Kilgore-toss up between them and Whitehouse 5. Whitehouse-see above 6. Hallsville-fighting to move up 7. Nacogdoches- will still be adjusting to new coach 8. Pine Tree-bringing up the rear These are just my opinion on 14-4a so far. I think this can be a competitive district and will have some interesting games.
  19. It is never too early to talk about next season's teams so who do ya'll see being the teams to challenge for district besides the obvious choice of JT? I think Marshall is going to be a team to watch, but you never know.
  20. That is a fair assessment and I agree. I guess the point is, IMO, is that JT has made some VERY strong strides with in their program since they had the "collapse" in the early 2000s. JT has alot of talent in their lower classes and that makes me optimistic. It will take care of itself this Fall.
  21. I am sorry Rod Lee but I TOTALLY disagree with your assumption of JT quitting in games. Quitters don't go 12-2 in 5a and beat the likes of Desoto, Lufkin, and Lake highlands so that is straight bull. First of all Whitehouse's defense is definition of a "sieve". They put up good numbers but still lost consistantly and went 3-8. Also Caldwell graduatesand Metoyer and Aldridge are good but not the best we will see and trust me on that.
  22. I am really having cold sweats at night about those POWERFUL whitehouse wildcats LOL. Like I said we will see what will happen in the fall. I have to see how JT progresses first but I am VERY optimistic.
  23. Well it finally happened and Jt goes 4A like I thought they would. I know alot the fans on this board from alot of these towns haven't really seen JT before so I will give ya'll some background. JT is a spread-option team. We will be a VERY young team this year, but I see JT really coming on when they hit district. Playing Lufkin, L-view, and Lee in the first 3 weeks of the season will MAKE you grow up or you will get plowed under. JT's new 4a district is interesting and I see JT competing with no problem against these schools. This will really make it easy on our fans traveling wise. JT has a LARGE fanbase and i look forward to seeing how things turn out. Ya'll have a good day!!!
