  1. Who caused this ? When employers stop taking care of their employees, that is when a country heads to socialism. Romney doesn't understand the middle class. He has never been one. Romney doesn't understand the middle class fears. Which is 1. loss of employment so their exboss gets a bigger bonus. 2. Stagnant wages. Middle class wages have not rose as fast as inflation has in about 20 years now. 3. The rise in cost of education. People are getting priced out of college even though they are making the grades. President Obama understood this. Just look at the number of people who voted for President Obama under the age of 45. It was a landslide vote for Obama. Employers take care of your employees. You will not like the result when the goverment does it for you.
  2. Top 3 teams in Region 3 & 4 in 2A Div 2 Reg 3 1. Hughes Springs 2. Centerville 3. Arp Region 4 1. Refugio 2. East Bernard 3. Lexington
  3. If President Obama wins; Republicans blame the news media for their loss. If Romney wins; Democrats will blame racism. Both will be wrong whoever loses. The party that loses will blame whatever they want. They cant even consider the thought that the majority of Americans don't agree with them. That is why nothing ever changes in polotics.
  4. Dist 5 Likely 1. Goldthwaite 2. San Saba 3. Hico Dist 6 likely 1. Italy 2. Cayuga 3. Kerens Win by either Hico ( vs Goldthwaite) or win by Kerens ( vs Italy ) will force a 3-way tie.
  5. Italy uses their bye week to heal up. Italy's QB becomes eligible, and RB high ankle sprain should be healed up. Hico comes off their big win over 3A Hillsboro. Should be a good game between 1A Region 1 Div 1 teams. Who wins ?
  6. This is what I was talking about at the begining of this topic. What if Hillsboro loses this game ? What does this do to your football program ? Your in 3A and you lose to a 1A school. Hillsboro could have played a bad 2A school and nothing would have been said about it. Now you lose to a 1A and now you still have Stephenville, Alvarado, and glen Rose still to come on the schedule.
  7. I figured that was going to happen. Hico's Freshman class isn't that good athletically. Hillsboro has a freshman team so that means Hico JV, almost all Freshman, would be playing Hillsboro Soph & Juniors. Hico JV is 0-5 on the season. Hico 8th grade will probably pass the current Freshman class on the varsity depth chart next year.
  8. 8th grade "B" Hico 8 Hillsboro 0 7th grade Hico 22 Hillsboro 6 8th grade Hico 40 Hillsboro 8
  9. Why does a 3A schedule any 1A school? You can't win. Beat them and you were suposed too. Lose to them and your the laughing stock in the area.
  10. Saw this on the schedule, 3A Hillsboro vs 1A Hico who wins ? 1A Hico has beaten Hillsboro the last two years. Hillsboro has taken a lot of grief this off-season for losing to a team two classifcations down from it.
  11. Deleon 44-0 Baird Eastland 43-7 Jacksboro Thrall/ Florence - Sat Lingleville 70-25 Moran
  12. A new school in College Station is trying to get a hold of Tenaha's coach about a first scrimmage. Its on the oldcoach website.

  14. Here is a speech made July 15, 1979 by then President Jimmy Carter. I know he wasn't a popular president. This could be one of the few thing he got right. Remember on this speech he interupted the three or four TV channels you had back then to give a scolding to the American people. I don't care if you are a Republican or Democrat, but that took ####. Maybe why he was one of the unpopular presidents of our time. Here is part of the speech. The key paragraph is the last one. The economic crisis today can be traced to the last paragraph. I know, of course, being President, that government actions and legislation can be very important. That's why I've worked hard to put my campaign promises into law—and I have to admit, with just mixed success. But after listening to the American people I have been reminded again that all the legislation in the world can't fix what's wrong with America. So, I want to speak to you first tonight about a subject even more serious than energy or inflation. I want to talk to you right now about a fundamental threat to American democracy. I do not mean our political and civil liberties. They will endure. And I do not refer to the outward strength of America, a nation that is at peace tonight everywhere in the world, with unmatched economic power and military might. The threat is nearly invisible in ordinary ways. It is a crisis of confidence. It is a crisis that strikes at the very heart and soul and spirit of our national will. We can see this crisis in the growing doubt about the meaning of our own lives and in the loss of a unity of purpose for our Nation. The erosion of our confidence in the future is threatening to destroy the social and the political fabric of America. The confidence that we have always had as a people is not simply some romantic dream or a proverb in a dusty book that we read just on the Fourth of July. It is the idea which founded our Nation and has guided our development as a people. Confidence in the future has supported everything else—public institutions and private enterprise, our own families, and the very Constitution of the United States. Confidence has defined our course and has served as a link between generations. We've always believed in something called progress. We've always had a faith that the days of our children would be better than our own. Our people are losing that faith, not only in government itself but in the ability as citizens to serve as the ultimate rulers and shapers of our democracy. As a people we know our past and we are proud of it. Our progress has been part of the living history of America, even the world. We always believed that we were part of a great movement of humanity itself called democracy, involved in the search for freedom, and that belief has always strengthened us in our purpose. But just as we are losing our confidence in the future, we are also beginning to close the door on our past. In a nation that was proud of hard work, strong families, close-knit communities, and our faith in God, too many of us now tend to worship self-indulgence and consumption. Human identity is no longer defined by what one does, but by what one owns. But we've discovered that owning things and consuming things does not satisfy our longing for meaning. We've learned that piling up material goods cannot fill the emptiness of lives which have no confidence or purpose.
  15. Who cares ? My wife has called the millitary and said I had toxic gas. They haven't bombed me yet.
  16. The coaches who say they aren't going will be the ones at the strip clubs.
  17. There is nothing you can do to stop acts like this. If you are ever in a situation like this were there is a guman shooting, you have to rush him and tackle him. Will that action make you live? Maybe or maybe not. It will cut down on the number of casualities. The guman in Colorado was in a crowded sold-out theater. Witness said they were 6 to 10 feet away from the gunman with his back turned toward them. Stephenville had a gunman at a gas station around 2 months ago. When the guy pulled the gun and started to shout, he was tackled from behind by a guy he didn't even see. No casualties and gunman is arrested. Another thing. STOP using the gunman's name. they usually want to go out in a blaze and glory. DENY the glory and not give his name. That will let others who are thinking of the samething they will be forgotten. Their name will not live on.
  18. Watch out Hornfan ! This one sounds educated
  19. Yes, it will effect me. I will just bring a garden hose with me and rip off gas from opposing teams vehicles.
  20. Let them gas each other. Who cares ? The US is broke and can not afford a war.
  21. I saw a good article on another board about Tatum might be overated. They had pro & cons on Tatum being overated in 2012. I do not believe Tatum will be overated. I do find this an intresting point; 7 points from playing for the state title, but only 3 points away from not qualifing for the playoffs. Also the article stated that the other two teams return more starters than Tatum. My predictions: Nobody goes undefeated in the toughest district in 2A. 1. White Oak 2. Tatum 3. Harmony 4. Jefferson 5. Troup 6. Sabine
