  1. The videos I saw of him in Daytona were simply him being an egotistical NFL player. He refused autographs, interviews and all interaction with media and fans for the most part. That is not what goes on during race weekend in NASCAR. Not a very big surprise though. Peyton Manning was there and was much more giving to the fans and media.
  2. This years November race was a Father's Day present. Once Dale Jr. announced his retirement my wife knew we had to go. Between football on Friday night and a swim meet Saturday the lower tier races were out. The Cup on Sunday was all on though. I am very glad we went. Things have been better at the track, yet with what this race stood for in the history of Dale Jr. it was worth it. Loudest Cheer of the day was when Jr. came back on the track after having to replace a wheel hub that broke. Most boo's......Denny Hamlin during driver intros. We thought Truex had this race wrapped up for the last third of the race......right up until Harvick lived up to his "Closer" nickname and ran away the last 10 or so laps. We missed last years races. Just that short time away makes those first few full speed laps big moments. You just don't get use to 205mph with straight pipes!
  3. It is very weak. It has been years and years since it was this bad. It feels lethargic because so many people realize it.
  4. QUATERBACKS UNDER COACH NORTON (a couple of first names might be iffy, but the last names are correct) Brad Vincent Charles Ray Chris Marshall Chris Marshall (missed 2 games in the middle of the season, Jordan Williams replaced him) Chris Marshall (missed first 2 games with mono, suspended last game, Mallett starts those 3 games) Ryan Mallett Ryan Mallett Ryan Mallett Nate Sorenson Nate Sorenson Nate Sorenson Levi Saxby Addison Porter Clete Norton for about 6 games then Dakota Hunter Dakota Hunter Cade Pearson Cade Pearson Cade Pearson
  5. Norton's second QB was black.
  6. Clete was on the jv his sophomore year. So, in no way could 3 years have been sacrificed. Norton, like most every coach in Texas, is going to play the guy that gives the team the best chance to win.
  7. Tiger4life93.......I guess my quote button isn't working. I was referring to Dogon who was once again slamming by factual distortion. If you were at all those games then you know that Norton's son lost the starting job his Jr year and never regained it. Some just can't stick to the facts. Everyone has different opinions on various coaches. I was just correcting a fact that has been skewed for years on here.
  8. Playing his son? Give me a break. HIs son started only six of 22 games played at the varsity level. You are letting your dislike of Norton interfere with the facts. All of those starts were in Clete's junior year. Clete didn't start a single game his senior year.
  9. ummmmm.......Nate Sorenson.....hello here, he was not trash. A very good QB and a great guy.
  10. Makes you wonder how long actions such as these have been going on there. Years? Were these attackers "carrying on" some sick twisted tradition? Praying this is a very limited occurrence.
  11. Right now I am very glad Tiger Stadium still has grass. The thoughts on travel won't be bad if schools in East Texas continue to play Texas High. Mavchamp, when was the last time Marshall and Texas High played a game that was not a district or playoff game? If we can get teams like Marshall, Hallsville and Sulphur Springs to play in non-district then we are okay. If not then the travel issue really could be a dark hallway. If Royce City could bump up just enough to move into div. 1 that would help too.
  12. I am betting some of those metroplex schools that Texas High might be in a district with have kids that have never played a high school football game on natural grass.
  13. 1. The actual name of the stadium is no longer Grim. Texas High plays at Tiger Stadium. 2. The thread is about the Texas High AD/HFBC.....can we stop the thread jacking and stick to the topic?
  14. Tiger Stadium is a great place to watch a football game. There is no track so you are on top of the action. The grass field is awesome. Concession stands and restrooms are located at all four corners of the stadium. A very nice video board and sound system. It is awesome to watch Tiger football there.
