  1. I believe district play started on the 5th. Haven't heard any scores. I predict Tenaha's success in football and basketball will carry over to the diamond. Especially if they could figure out a way to get the hoops coach out there coaching 1st base. Tigers, Titles, and Tradition, or something like that!
  2. Well Ricky Flair, here I am chiming in. Congrats to Joaquin and M'ville getting wins last night. Saw that Joaquin "smashed da gas" on Cushing, Martinsville had their hands full with Alto, but a W is a W. Both teams have their work cut out for them on Friday, playing 2 Top 10 teams. Joaquin just will not have the horses to run with SA and deal with their pressure. Somebody needs to step up for M'Ville, I don't think the big boy can do it alone in order for them to advance. I could see Tenaha/West Sabine going either way. They both have excellent coaches so that will cancel each other out. WS has been averaging 67.2 points per game during district but throw in playing Lufkin Pineywoods and Brookeland and that number should be lower. How about watching some games? I guess your DirecTV packages do not pick up high school games.
  3. I agree that Joaquin should beat Cushing. Size inside will be too much for them to handle. Alto and Martinsville has the makings of a classic. If Alto shuts down the big kid from M'Ville, maybe double team him, they will win. That seems to be the key to stopping Martinsville, make the role players beat you.
  4. Well I see all the talk of who finishes where and what route is easier is over. Looks like Tenaha and Joaquin took care of business as usual. Tenaha has a winning mentality and tradition, a powerhouse in hoops. Plus having a world class coach is a bonus. Joaquin finally gets a good group of seniors with some size inside and a knockdown shooter so I see how they got 2nd. Martinsville is a 1 man show with some decent role players. I missed out on their game with Gary, figured Martinsville would roll but I see that wasn't the case. Heard it was pretty wild, people ejected and whatnot. Was anybody at this game to confirm?
  5. Rick Flair i totally disagree with your statements. Oh yea and half of 12 is 6. San Augustine is a powerhouse and will win Area by 3 dozen points. SA and Tenaha are no where near alike. SA is red and white. Teneha is maroon and white. Tenaha are Tigers and San Augustine are wolves. Tenaha is close to Lake Murval and San Augustine is close to Sam Rayburn. I think they both try to relax you and beat you on the defensive boards. They prefer a stall game but neither have had the opportunnity to run it against inferior opponnents. The only valid statement you have made is that Grapeland is maybe the best in the region. Go watch a game sometime. These are the facts jack.
  6. SA will go down............biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig.
  7. Very true. Have you heard from BCATS lately? I know that he is a Marine and, I think he said that he will be back from Iraq at the beginning of November.
  8. Like I said...the drop to 2a....and the new qb have nothing to do with it!
  9. .....and the drop to 2A.....and the new qb!!!
