The last couple of weeks many people have been making a big deal about the weather. Yes, it is an issue but the teams and coaches are focused on playing football. Both teams play in the same conditions on the same field. It boils down to who is the best team that night in those conditions. In my opinion, the weather is exactly why I will take this game over any other on any day. Heck, let's get some sideways snow blowing with the wind howling out of the north. How bad do you want it now? Lace em up, tighten it up, put on some extra layers and let's go.....

Isn't it interesting how some schools jh and jv seem to roll every year but the varsity never really seems to have quite the same success?

The real problem is gonna be if only rains on one team.

Didn't Teague lose to Yoe in the playoffs last year? Wan't the final score of that game closer than the state finals game? Maybe Teague was the second best team in state last year but just ran into the best team in the state early in the playoffs.

Not sure about finally playing for something other than pride. Last year's game determined the 3rd and final playoff spot in the district. Agreed, should be a good game.

Numerous penalties against the visitors with many being somewhat questionable is pretty much the norm in Prairiland.

So, they ran on to the field and celebrated beating a 1-9 team? Classy.

It is amazing to me the number of knowledgeable football people who pay no attention whatsoever to strength of schedule.

Late holding call against Cooper cost them the game. Two penalties on 4th down stops cost Clarksville the game. Just seems the Patriots always seem to get big calls at big times in close games. Maybe the football Gods will be smiling on them again this week.

D2 next year chain. Factories have all closed. No jobs. People have to go where they can work.

They are doing well but let's not get carried away here. I believe the combined record of their opponents thus far this season is 0-8. Chisum, Queen City and Clarksville. All smaller schools as well.

Interesting point. i completely agree with what you say here but was there any coach yelling at these kids to move them forward or was the staff alright with this alignment in this situation??????

It's all about the district sked.

Generally speaking, my point of posting was that it is one thing for a player to put up numbers when competing against high level competition. Don't get me wrong, the kid looks polished and is on the money. Just not sure how many future college players are running around on those defenses. Best of luck to Bells and the young man this season. Keep us all posted on his future.

Well, my friend, your story is what is happening in Cv. No jobs to speak of so people are leaving to gain employment. The sad part is the ones that leave to go to another county school because they believe Cv is not a good school. Very, very common misconception unfortunately.

Well, Cv thru a pick in the endzone early in the game and also had a long TD run called back.....very slow start for CV but somewhat expected with 1/3 of starting lineup freshman. HS is good, as usual. I hope we are done with them lol.

I think the D2 cutoff was 158 last realignment. Cv is well below that number right now. Unless there is a wave of move-ins in the next two months, they will be dropping.

Played a full season of jv last year. Enrollment is down. Just a few in the gym.
