  1. Dekalb's coach doesn't want to flip a coin. He wants to play on a more neutralized field to minimize Hooks' passing attack and speed and give his team the best opportunity to win. You're not concerned about player safety, you're concerned about losing the game. There have been 1000+ Texas high school football games played in the sloppy wet rain and I've never seen a group of fans complain about it so much.
  2. I ran the slot-T for Coach May at James Bowie. This is the first game I've attended since he's been at Dekalb. The problem is definitely not the offense. I know first hand how productive it can be. We averaged 40 points a game in it, put up 60 three times while beating some very good teams along the way. And the sad thing is, this Dekalb team is 5x more athletic than we were. It's hard for them to be confident in it when Daddy talks about how awful it is. It wasn't the snap over the head that gave them a touchdown? It wasn't the three trips to the red zone and then #### down their legs? It wasn't the fumbles? Dear lord. These kids had multiple opportunities to win this game, they just didn't go get it done. It's like they were expecting somebody else to do it for them. I give props to the coaching staff for putting them in a position to win. At the end of the day, the kids have to execute.
  3. The posters of the past few years were high school kids that have now graduated. But on the main topic, James Bowie is really struggling with injuries right now. They're main priority is to be healthy by district. As someone said earlier, JB and Maud is always a dogfight. Should be a great game.
  4. Ha, yes it is! Not necessarily their athleticism, but their work ethics. I can assure you it is NOT the coaching, as you were implying.
  5. This may sound crazy, but Bowie still has not played up to their potential all year. Still waiting for the breakout game. They are more athletic then they've been in years, and it could click at any moment. Hoping we can pull it together this week and make a good playoff run!!
  6. Ha, how about the signs down Highway 67 telling us to turn around? How about the Cardinals taunting us at midfield before the game? How about the donkey stomp sign? I bet they regretted doing this as those tears came from their eyes.
  7. Collectiveness is THE MOST IMPORTANT characteristic of a winning team.
  8. I got pretty excited when I saw Romo yelling at the center. Shows that he has some authority and leadership.
  9. If JB can contain Waskom's speed, they will take it. They did last year, so I think they will this year. I don't think JB will have a problem scoring.
  10. 2009 Big 12 Chamionship, Texas and Nebraska in Dallas. Texas wins on a game-winning field goal as time expires.
  11. Pullin' for Coach Robey and the Bearkats to get a win tonight!
  12. Should've, could've, would've, didn't. All that matters is the scoreboard after the game. We could go 1-15 and "should've" beat 15 teams..
  13. You're right. And it is my understanding that Coach Coker didn't make the schedule.
