  1. 1. People love lists!!!! 2. People love lists!!!!
  2. Exactly. #3 is a magician. We haven't really had to throw as much as we normally do, but I think that will change, Sat. If we do run, I'd feel better about straight up the gut. There are a lot of pass plays that #3 will just tuck and run on his own... Our WR corps is really good. a lot of speed and don't drop balls. #7 is our fastest kid out there. #11 best hands. #10 seems to catch a lot of 3rd down conversions. Watching film in Minny is almost like looking into the mirror. Kids will be flying all over the field until the whistle blows. It will be a great time.
  3. I'm hoping my Cards experience comes into play, sat. I see the strength of Minny, being their Oline....Potts weakness is Dline. Their job will be simple, this week, but tough to achieve...."hold the line". I'll be focused on the trenches, in the first possession. If our D line can either hold their stance or chop the Minny O line down, then our backers will be just fine. If they allow, Minny Bigs to get to the second level, we will Be in trouble. Good luck to you guys...congrats on an already fine season.
  4. Worthy opponent. Do a lot of things well! Saw a lot of hand shaking and sportsmanship throughout. Well done, Dragons
  5. Weather pattern leans to RW, favor. Still don't think it will be enough, though.
  6. Hi guys. I'm pretty much a newby here, but I'll give you some insight on my Cardinals. We have a great program and unbelievable coaching staff. We lose almost every pregame, but that doesn't necessarily mean we are not athletic. Our JR QB (#3) is extremely quick and has a way of escaping what looks to be "sure tackles". We never go under center and the qb choice at you all day, until you stop it. Love to go left. #7 (soph) receiver is as fast as they come. Bubble screen, bubble screen, fly pattern. #11 receiver (jR) is small, but plays and jumps like he's 6-2 ...best hands on the team. I'm shocked that our D is this good. #32 (jR) is maybe the best LB to come throught Potts. Can't recall seeing him ever miss a tackle. D line is our weak spot. Got a freshmen nose, whose job is to chop things down for the LB's. But we don't get much pressure on qb's. We are very proud of our team. The guy that said "negative yards"...was stirring the pot. We feel like we should win this game, but understand "that's why you play the game." Be safe...especially with the weather possibility. Support these "kids" and be proud of their already successful season.
  7. I actually thought Anna was maybe our best win of the season. They were pretty good and we totally dominated that game.
  8. No doubt.........it's really a situation where you don't know what the heck to do. I guess you try the run first, for fear of a pick 6. See if it's somewhat successful while eating some clock. If it's not, your probably down 14-0 at that point, then you have to try to throw it. If that doesn't work, then the ballgame is over at half!!
  9. I think "balanced" is a good term..........they are not flashy by any means, but have the capability of going deep, or grinding it out on the ground with a power game. They have no running back that will break a 50 yarder,,,, but who can against that D? I think that will be the approach Fri. Try to slow the game down, and shott for 3-4 yds per carry! It's really the only way I see us keeping it close. BUT.....we do have a deep threat in #2 Baugus.......he's a lot like high school, Wes Welker.
  10. Yeah, that was a fun year. LB #54 from the 08 team is now a Soph at Rice. He plays about 40% of the snaps at D. End now, but is the projected starter for next year. We are not as good as that 08 team, but like I said, we are still young!
  11. No problem.......I've yet to see D'field in person, but have seen video, read articles, reviewed scores, talked to people and coaches, enough to know what's coming. We had a good team in 08 and only 1 of our guys signed with a D1 school........and it was Rice! To know that you guys have 6-7 of those cats roaming around and that 1 is committed to TEXAS, speaks volumes. Our boys are still very young, with a major part of them being Sophs. If we make it out of this game, unhurt, fight hard, and without embarrassment, the experience will probably be the best result to come out of the game. (Win or Lose)
  12. Trust me, I do understand what is coming our way! They are nasty! No doubt about it..........we ARE overmatched. But, what good what it do, to come on here and give no material to take into game day. I'm simply telling you guys about our team this year. Truth is, we still are a good football team!! Maybe not as good as Dfield, but I'm definitely not going to go into the game thinking that it's already over. I'm really looking forward to seeing Daingerfield in action, and seeing our boys give it their all.
  13. There's no doubt that Pottsboro is small at receiver, but what they do, is scheme really well and have speed when they catch. Size at the WR is nice, but at this level, isn't everything. There will be a lot of quick slants, hitches, outs, screens, mixed in with an occasional deep ball to keep D'field honest. I think it's a good way to equalize the Daingerfield speed as much as possible. If we had a pocket passer and ran deep routes, It would be trouble. I think it will be a new experience for D'field this year.
  14. They are fast at RB and WR............their size was more noticeable to me though!
  15. Pottsboro will get some key players back this week. 1, being their starting qb that went down in the first game if District. It's unsure if he will play the qb spot, or may slide into receiver. (to me, he's their best athlete) Pottsboro has been rolling with a Soph. qb who has done an unbelievable job and gained tremendous experience this season. They've also been playing 2 weeks without their starting LB. He will also suit up for the show! I know it's a tough matchup, but I think our boys will come to play. I believe that we are on the same level as New Boston, if not better. And I hear they gave D'field some problems. Can't wait till FRIDAY!!
