  1. Regional Semi- Finals Lovelady vs Rusk... 3 game series Game 1 - Wednesday 5/15 at 6:00pm Game 2 - Thursday 5/16 at 6:00pm Game 3 if necessary Saturday 5/18 at 12:00 All games will be played at Rusk High School Rusk has a new turf field and covered bleachers. Very nice facilities!
  2. I won’t believe that unless we are headed to Austin in a few weeks. Every team left in it is tough. Wish I knew something about Beckville. Hate they played 2 last night. I would have been there today to watch. Congrats to Beckville. Guess we will see y’all next Wednesday in Rusk.
  3. Lovelady puts up 1 in the first inning and 4 in the 2nd inning and holds off Woden in a 5-2 win. Great win for the Lovelady program. Just have to keep our heads down and go back to work and get ready for the next round.
  4. Good deal. Sorry about the accusations.
  5. Catcher doesn’t play for the Bombers. I see what you’re trying to do here. If you want to get the facts, you can private message me. Been down this road before and a public message board is not the place for it. It will only make both of us look stupid. Just keep in mind, Lovelady hasn’t been past the 2nd round since 2010 and 2 years ago Lovelady lost 19-0 in the first round and last year, we only won 4 games all season. Not too enticing!!! But I will say that the reason I moved my family here in 2010 is because it’s a great community with an excellent academic school district.
  6. Lovelady vs Woden 1 game Friday May 10th 7:00pm Hudson HS
  7. Woden won 3-0. Scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th.
  8. No doubt about it topher!!!!! Time to see if Lovelady is a contender or a pretender. Only thing that worries me a little is Woden and Grapeland are experienced and battle tested in these situations. This is uncharted waters for these Lovelady girls. Hope we have prepared them well and they rise up!!!!!
  9. Lovelady over Big Sandy in a double header. 9-1 and 5-1
  10. Yes, her family moved here last summer. Why do you ask?
  11. A little late but Lovelady over Cushing 10-0 in 5 innings. Scored all their runs in the first 3 innings and coasted to the win. Freshman pitcher was lights out on the mound. 5 inning no hitter. 13 K's. only 2 balls put in play. a weak grounder to 3B and a pop up to 1B. She was 1 hit batter away from a perfect game. Area round...... Lovelady vs Big Sandy double header tonight 4/30 at Hudson HS. 1st game starts at 6:00pm. Game 3 TBD
  12. Lovelady vs Cushing, 1 game. Thursday 6:00pm Nacogdoches High School. And Trueblue is spot on. Gonna be some really good matchups in the first round. This matchup and Grapeland vs Joaquin are gonna be good for sure!
  13. Lovelady gets the win over Grapeland 5-2. District 21 is set. 1. Leon 2. Lovelady 3. Grapeland 4. Centerville
  14. Lovelady vs Grapeland tonight 4/22 at 6:00pm in Crockett to decide 2nd and 3rd out of District 21. Leon went undefeated in district with 4 close wins over Grapeland and Lovelady. Leon won’t blow you away with athletes and overpowering pitching but they are well coached and are solid on defense and at the plate.
  15. Beckville is in District 19 in region 3. Districts 17,18,19,20 are on one side of the region 3 bracket while Districts 21,22,23,24 are on the other side. Haven’t seen them play but I think Beckville and Harleton have to be 2 of the favorites to region the regional finals out of that side of the bracket for sure. Those two teams along with Garrison are back in 2A after having spent a little time up in 3A recently. If I had to name 2 teams that I could for sure see playing in the regional finals, I would probably have to say Woden vs Beckville.
  16. Woden is definitely one of the favorites in this region. They are really tough again this year from what I’ve heard.
  17. This is what I’ve heard about D22. Garrison 1st and Douglass 4th. That’s locked. If Cushing beats Garrison tomorrow 4/20 then they are 2nd and Joaquin is 3rd. If Cushing loses then Cushing and Joaquin will be tied and have a playoff for 2nd.
  18. Well, gotta give Leon their props. They swept the district and will be the #1 seed. They beat Lovelady 1-0 in 11innings and 4-3 in 8 innings. Beat Grapeland 3-1 and 7-6. Grapeland and Lovelady will have a playoff for 2nd. Probably Monday 4/22. They split their series with Lovelady winning game one 2-1 in 9 innings and Grapeland taking game two 7-3. Centerville and Slocum are fighting it out for 4th place. Centerville took the game 1 and I believe they play game 2 on Monday. Centerville wins, their in. Slocum wins, their tied. These will be some great matchups between D21 and D22 in the first round.
  19. No doubt. And it won't be decided until the last district game between Leon and Grapeland. That's if Lovelady can knock off Leon next Tuesday. District 22 is in the same boat with Garrison, Cushing, Joaquin, and Douglass all beating up on each other.
  20. Lovelady gets the win 2-1 in 9 innings. Wow, what a game.
  21. Big game tonight in Grapeland 6:00pm Lovelady vs Grapeland........Round 1.
  22. Leon is solid. Not overpowering pitching but as a team, they do alot of things solid. Going to be interesting down the stretch. They did what they needed to do the first round through district.
  23. Lovelady opened district play with a heartbreaking loss at home to Leon 1-0 in 11 innings. The Lions definitely have a pitcher this year but have to find a way to get better at the plate or it's going to be a frustrating season.
  24. With district starting, think its time to start some chat about district predictions and region teams to watch, in particular region 3. Let's here if from of you guys that follow softball closely. District 21-2A i think these 4 teams make it. Not sure what order but Grapeland has to be the favorite until proven otherwise. GRAPELAND, LEON, CENTERVILLE, LOVELADY
  25. The rain really hurt the turn out as many teams dropped out. Fields were wet saturday morning so the remaining 16-17 (I think) teams, played only pool games on Saturday evening when the fields dried out. Bracket play was on Sunday. When it was all said and done, Lovelady beat Joaquin for the championship at about 8:30 Sunday night. Hats off to Jim and the rest of the crew for working endlessly to make the most of the situation. They did a great job considering the conditions.
