How do you miss a wide open receiver with plenty of time by 20 yds downfield? A 6-man QB would hit that guy 95% of the time.....or at least get the ball within 10 yds of him.

SV doesn't have any stats listed in MaxPreps......so you really can't get a comparison of what kind of offensive numbers they had this season.

That's now.....but what explanation can you give for the first half, Huh?

But aside from how good Aledo might be.......SV is still just not making any plays whatsoever on offense. AND there play-calling it totally conservative.

Looks like SV does have a pretty good defense and a very good kicking game in all parts of it, but not a topnotch QB. I don't know how they won those 14 games......their RBs are not that impressive either. They did win some games against some very good teams.....and put up some high scores along the way. But I guess they did not perform offensively like they are doing tonight.

Truth is the SV QB is just not that capable. At this level you better have a very good QB that can throw the ball and is mobile.

31-8 Aledo early 2nd half. Smithson Valley is like a deer in the headlights in this game.....not playing close to their normal game. Missing wide open receivers, the QB cannot even hit a receiver.......can't hit the broadside of a barn. They need to throw it......open it up. But the QB is waaay off on his throws tonight.

Offensively......and the defense never put a safety back either. The players won the game despite idiotic play calls and lack of a safety on defense.

Congrats to the Gilmer Buckeyes and their fans......a great day for Gilmer today.

I'm sorry to say this......but IMHO the Gilmer PLAYERS won this game DESPITE the Gilmer coaching staff.....they are as dumb as rocks. There.....I said it. My brother concurs.

I said it earlier too......can't believe the Gilmer coaching staff doesn't understand this basic concept.

Gilmer just needs to leave their fastest defensive back in a safety position to run down anybody that breaks one.

Glimer's coaching staff is slightly lacking......just sayin'. They should have a safety at all times.

I took Gilmer in my Pick-ems. I think they will find ways to counter Bellville's defense and actually just outscore Bellville. I don't think Gilmer will be able to stop Bellville's scoring, but will get some stops. And then they will have a gameplan to use those quickhitters to neutralize that BigBoy in Bellville's defense. Gilmer needs to use its speed to its advantage today......and I think that will happen enough to pull out a win in a very close game.

Just sayin'.......
