Their most impressive win so far is a trio of close losses to Malakoff, Pleasant Grove and Gilmer. They've picked up actual wins over North Lamar (58-0) and Spring Hill (42-28).

I'm sure they have improved, and they're feeling good heading into the playoffs, especially if they are able to beat LE. But will they make a deep run? Highly unlikely. I think a second or MAYBE a third-round appearance ought to be considered a really, really good year for the Pirates. Not sure what they'll bring back next season, but this is likely a building block for next year, when it's possible they'll make some legit noise.

    100% on the money...

Pitt will play hard and could take a BiDistrict win but that's about it this year...they are limited in what they can do, I watched em play against Van, LE & PG and the Pirates improved each game I saw...they have a couple of good classes coming so the Pirates will be much improved next few seasons...heckuva 2021 season and congrats to the players and coaches

they are banking on this sophomore group combining with the current 8th grade group.  When these Sophomores are Seniors, and the 8th graders are sophomores.....that will look a lot like 2017.  The O line might even be bigger than 2017...lots of potential.  just gotta  grow up

teams need depth or when injuries hit a good team-that team becomes average

Another thing to remember about the hawks, they lost four varsity coaches this past hiring cycle...btw those four they prolly had over 70 yrs of experience(?)...takes time for the new guys to learn and as Hawk20 said kids gotta learn how to play...after what i saw in early scrimmages 2-3 in pre district was realistic...should be anywhere from 4th to 2nd in district

I think PG losing their QB is definitely taking a toll. I didn't get to watch them, but I have some buddies that did and they said the kid is special.

not being able to stop the run btw the tackles was the issue in this game...my two cents

Just checked out the ATL compensation plan on their web site.   The AD range is  $65,868 to $90,963.   For a “public record” to show his salary to be $107,527 I call BS on your public records.   He may in fact have had several incentives to make up to that much but don’t believe any PUBLIC RECORD showed his salary to be that high.   $17K above top end just doesn’t happen.

    Stipend pay

Atlanta finally got their first win and the Bears are rolling through a 3 game win streak. Who wins this one ?

Atl is getting playersback that have missed a few games...think Gladewater will win but dont count out the Rabbs

They also arent playing argyle, carthage, la vega or texas high. They can thank the previous staff for fixing the schedule for them.

But they'll make the playoffs.  IMO it should never be a surprise they would beat spring hill or north lamar.

think SH beat em last year if I recall correctly, however, I could be wrong...schedule is better without a doubt & staff has done a good job...team is better than last years version

As far as high school goes, I’m hoping football practice starts in August as usual. That’s the earliest I see high school athletics returning.

I will agree with you on that start date...hate seniors last semester was tanked but it was necessary
