Did the Liberty Christian game take the place of the Fayettville game for THS?
I got Legacy, Liberty Christian, Midlothian Heritage, and Waco University as their non-district schedule.

Considering you’re almost twice the size of every school in our district I would hope so. There’s a REASON classifications exist.
Of course Marshall would struggle in a district full of schools twice or three times our size.
Of course Legacy should win more in a district full of schools half their size.
But that’s not how it works. End of the day…. legacy is a struggling program that loses more than they win. So they don’t get to look down on anyone. Esp a program with a winning history.

We don’t pick our classification or district any more than Legacy does. You’re trying to compare a school that has 1,100 more students to MHS.
I was just pointing out that you were laughing at a program that has won almost 100 games in the same amount of time that Legacy has lost 100 games.
You seem to assume it’s an easy win for you guys. Might be…. But I’m not expecting a blowout. History shows the game is usually very competitive. We should be better in 24 than we were in 23.

I don’t run scared. I never predicted we’d beat y'all. I just called out you laughing at a program that has significantly more wins and playoff success than Legacy. That’s a mathematical fact.

A few photos of the progress at Maverick Stadium.
Construction at MHS for its $42 million facelift will start in the coming weeks. Total renovation along with the general fund monies already used will total about $57 million in updates at MHS.
Exciting stuff.

Matt stepp posted a mock 7A alignment last week....interesting stuff. I'm not going to list his proposed districts since it's premium content....but lots of random thoughts about it and how it affects East Texas, specifically 5A.
1. No 7A teams in ETX. Not even Legacy would make the cut.
2. 6A...... Seeing Longview, Legacy, and Tyler in a East DFW district shocks no one..and it's with schools none of them are strangers to. Longview will dominate that district more often than not. Lufkin goes south to the Golden Triangle/NE Houston area....tough draw for LP.
3. 5A Div I..... Texas High and Nac bump up to Div I. Texarkana finds themselves in a similar travel situation as they had when they were last in Div I.... all DFW. Some long drives to Dallas, south of Dallas, and the eastern portions of the metroplex. THS would continue to dominate that district like they have their current district. Gotta feel bad for Nac.... some long drives to places like Huntsville and Baytown...but some stiff competition for huntsville and several other annual playoff teams.
4. 5A Div II sees the biggest shake up. With Texarkana and Nac gone to Div I..... we see a split amongst those left in Div II. The I-30 schools get grouped together with MP and SS going to the northern metroplex, reuniting with some old foes. Meanwhile Marshall and Hallsville see PT move back up to 5A along with Lindale. MP becomes an immediate playoff threat in their new district. Marshall, Whitehouse, and Lindale look to battle for the district title more often than not...and PT has proven to be a contender of late too.

TBH..... looking at it all..... I think most ETX schools would be happy with this alignment with the exceptions being Texas High and Nac because of travel. I think Longview, Tyler, and Legacy would be pleased. I think MP, Marshall, WH, and others are probably happy too. LP is iffy.... that's a tough district...but it's better than being in the DFW.....

Of course....all of this is about football only. The question is...... do we ever see split divisions in other sports? Or would we see 7A in all sports instead?

Another question is….. how does it affect cutoff numbers as it ripples down?
Namely for East Texas. Does Texas High get bumped up to 5A Div I with Tyler? To a lesser degree Nacogdoches could bump up
And would we see some borderline 4A Div I schools get bumped to 5A Div II….. suspects like Pine Tree, Lindale, Kilgore, Sulphur springs….. we could possibly see TWO 5A Div II districts in East Texas
Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, Marshall, Hallsville, Pine Tree, Whitehouse, Jacksonville, Lindale, Kilgore, Nacogdoches… that’s 11 teams. 12 of Texas High doesn’t bump up. Definitely leads to 2 etx districts.

This leaves 145 teams in 5A meaning I need 47 to pull up from 4A to get the 192. After that pull up we have 153 left in 4A meaning I pull up the next 39 from 3A to get the 192. This leaves 162 Teams in in 3A pull the next 30 from 2A to get the 192. this leave 176 total in 2A. That's only 16 schools from having a legitimate sustainable 7A. If you bring 7A to 150 then its only 6 school. IT is very close to becoming a reality.
My guess is that they will do 16 districts instead of 32. That’s what they are doing in 5A split classifications

Whitehouse got the upset of the night on Tuesday with their 2-0 win over MP..... dropping the Tigers 2 games behind the district leading Lobos. Tyler and Pine Tree battled it out to a 2-2 tie...but PT won the game in a shootout 4-2. Texas High got their first district win of the season over Marshall with both tied for the cellar with a win over each other.
