And the Mavs. We've always been small defensively. Kilgore was all beef.

SS, PT, MP..... all generally smaller it seems. Not sure about Hallsville. They are usually pretty big.

Longview's defense is generally bigger than anyone we see in 14-4A.

Something caught my eye in one of the articles in the MNM about the game. It was about Longview's defense: “They’re a little smaller than Kilgore size wise and aren’t necessarily bull rushers, but they’re even more athletic,” Harper said. “We’re going to have to match up better and create holes against their front line.” Am I the only one that find it jaw-dropping that a school the size of Kilgore.... across the board has a bigger defensive line than Longview??? What the hell are they feeding those boys in Kilgore? OIL? That's insane. Kilgore will be playing in late December I'm willing to bet.

We've had 5 losing seasons since 1987. I know that's isn't at the Lobo level of excellence, but that's a LOT of losing? 5 losing seasons in 26 years?? There are a TON of programs that would kill for that. Not Longview, I understand that. I bet PT or Nac or MP or Hallsville....or any number of schools would like to say that. And I'm willing to bet we will pull ourselves up off the ground quicker than they do.

I bet Odessa Permian, Plano, Converse Judson, and others always thought they would be the cornerstones of THSF too. Not so anymore. None of them are where they use to be. Why is it beyond belief that the same couldn't happen to LHS? Even Lufkin has had some down seasons. I'm trying to find where anyone has called Marshall elite.... I certainly haven't. I've said we've been one of the most successful in East Texas. Not elite. We don't always have a pretty record, but like 2009, even with a less than stellar record we were playing deep playoff games. Elite..... to me...... I think about Southlake Carroll, Katy, Euless Trinity. No one in East Texas can claim that except maybe Gilmer, Daingerfield, & Carthage. Ready for this week to be over. So big bad Longview can go troll on some other team.

Both are about a lack of respect towards another schools logo. Both show a lack of class IMhO. And no. I wouldn't have a sticker like that on my vehicle of any team. I'm not 14.

Nahhhh....Longview is a great team. Playing them only makes us better. Even since this losing streak to them started, we've managed plenty of success. Outside of Lufkin..... no one else in East Texas has fared much better against them. We can lose 100 straight to them if we can have seasons like we did 2004- up until 2010.

I don't mind trash talk. It can be fun. And when we tried to make it fun, we got called out on it. We are well aware that the respect is a one way street with the Lobos. Heck. On the 5A bored they compared us to Nac. Which shows they know nothing about Marshall football outside of their series with us. There is nothing similar in Nac and Mav football. But it is what it is until its not.

Get real truelionking.... The trash talk didn't start till a Lobo fan posted a pic of someone urinating on our logo. That has Zilch to do with wins or losses or who dominates who. That's about having class. Or a lack thereof. Nothing but respect for longview. Hell. Most of us know we will get stomped. But to expect Mav fans sit and say nothing when a boneheaded post is made is asinine.
