I’m interested to see who will take Henderson and Carthage’s slot on our schedule.
Tyler and Longview locked down in weeks 1 and 2. It’s gotta get easier after those two.

That’s because you don’t know the shenanigans he pulled after he left.
The garbage he pulled to undermine his successor. The pettiness of some of it. The downright hateful on some of it.
The poison he purposely placed in some players ears , some parents hearts, and some boosters after he was gone was well known. Particularly for the 2019 season.
All those antics make his W/L record irrelevant.

But Etx Div II is definitely spread out too.
Texarkana to Nacogdoches and Marshall to Jacksonville is a huge swath of area.

First round playoff games just got much tougher for ETX 5A.
Tough to believe those schools are in region 2 instead of 3 like they always have been. Esp when you have a district adjacent to us (Corsicana, Greenville, Ennis, etc).

However...on Friday Longview topped Hallsville and MP beat Tyler to knot MP and Longview at the top of the district and dropping Tyler and Hallsville into a tie for third.
Marshall, Texas High, and PT are all tied for the district cellar.

Not about who would win. I’d just want a competitive game…. Even if we lost.The Longview game simply isn’t competitive anymore.
We both beat Nac easily. We both lost big to Longview. We both lost to Tyler in close games.
Just wanting a game against someone in our competitive neighborhood. Getting blown out by Longview is a waste of snaps.

I’d like to think Marshall Vs Lufkin would be more competitive than Marshall Vs Longview. Or even Lufkin Vs Nac.
LP fans may not have much interest in the game tbh. I dunno.

It was a long time coming. We fell behind in the 90s and early 2000s.
Coach Southern got the ball rolling with improvements. Griedl took it to another level thanks to fantastic school board support.
But we also have to say that while the taxpayers have done their part….. boosters and private donations have been big factors too.
I think seeing the community-wide support by so many PRIVATE citizens has made it easier to get PUBLIC support for funding. JMHO.

Why the visitor's locker room was moved out of the athletic building.
Again....having the visitots locker room back INSIDE the stadium will be a huge upgrade. Pretty excited about it.

I agree......
While I absolutely love what they have done to the athletic building... it's one of the finest you can find anywhere..... the decision to do away with the visitor's locker room out of the facility was a bad one. They should have just added on and kept it in the building.
Granted.....the locker room they are using is fine...... having it across the street in the gym is just terrible logistics.
But now.....having it over on the visitor's side will ultimately be THE BEST thing...and something not many facilities have.
Most are more set up like Pine Tree, Nac, Hallsville....where the facility is in one of the endzones.
So this is a big upgrade no doubt.

In related news..... Im hearing there will be some future work on the stadium. I've heard rumbles of new restrooms. That's interesting development considering they just did a floor to ceiling renovation of the restrooms on home and visitors side.
Also hearing concessions will get some work.
Replacing bleachers is also what I'm hearing.....with the possibility of stadium chairs being installed on the home side in at least 1 or 2 of the reserved sections.
Sections A and B are all mostly student seating...so I doubt they get it. But sections C, D, and E are all reserved. No GA on the home side anymore.
I'll pass more info when I get it

Keep Tyler
Pick up Lufkin, Tyler Legacy, while that third game could literally be anyone. Pine Tree, Ennis, Huntsville, Shreveport Byrd, Bossier Airline or Parkway.
I think the Tyler, Legacy, and Lufkin games would all fairly competitive. Do t think we’d be favored against any of them. But it wouldn’t be the complete wastes of time that Longview and Carthage have proven to be.
That third game should be a solid 5A Div II team from literally anywhere…. Or a good road trip to have a long road game under your belt. I tossed PT in there too just because the Pirates could be pretty good in 2024…. And there’s a rivalry factor. we have a 22 year consecutive streak with them…. Making it our third longest current Rival…… behind Longview (91) and Hallsville (24).

He will be a senior this coming year. Rumor has it he will enter the draft as well
