  1. Some good prognosticators on this thread.
  2. There wasn’t a bad call. It was definitely a penalty on the called back TD. It’s on the tape. I always laugh when the home team complains that the refs robbed em. The other times it is always the visitors complaining of home cookin.
  3. It is a complete laugher when folks make predictions knowing nothing about the competition that has been played by both teams.
  4. There are some posts of the year on this thread.
  5. I am still horrified. I can’t imagine why there was no kick for the win. I couldn’t be a newspaper man as I would ask tough questions. I am certain he wanted the qb to throw it away and then kick on 4th down. I just always thought a good rule is to not try and run a play with less than 10 seconds and no timeouts.
  6. I mean I rarely would second guess a coach but somebody on the staff had to be screaming FG down there. I have no doubt if the roles were reversed, the Gilmer staff would have kicked a FG for the win. I mean the ball was inside the 2 and they had no probs kicking PATs before. Maybe his leg fell off on the sideline or something.
  7. With the clock stopped with 9 seconds and Van ball on the Gilmer 2 yard line, why would you not kick a FG for the win that would be about like an extra point? The Van kicking game looked fine with one PAT blocked that wasn’t on the kicker. I don’t get it.
  8. Yes, we dedicated the place or I should say the school board president dedicated the place. However, as stated before, it definitely was not the PA announcer. As long as the facts are correct, I am cool with that. I think the Buckeyes should be very proud of their sustained success of now longer than a decade.
  9. Just to clarify for jackpots, which we often have to do, the PA announcer was not "gushing" about the success of the Buckeyes over the last 10 years. That was not even the announcer. That was the school board president dedicating the new stadium. The school board president also does the play by play on the internet. Unless of course you are referring to something you were actually hearing on the internet broadcast and I was not listening to that.
  10. All credibility is lost by anyone that says Gilmer hasn't played anyone. Clearly 16-3A is extemely tough with several teams that show poor overall records that are not indicative of the quality of their team. Bottom line is that the best 2 3A D-2 teams are here playing for the title, as it should be. Most folks around Gilmer that follow HS football outside of the area have been pointing to a matchup with Navasota for a long time. We knew that the representative that made it out of 16-3A would probabaly eventually get Navasota. Truly the cream of the 3A crop. Navasota is favored in the game and rightfully so. Should Navasota's defense hold Gilmer to 20 or less then they will be champions. Let this game go to a shootout in which Gilmer gets more than 28 and they could lose. The scoring shootout is NOT the way to beat Gilmer.
  11. 8:32 remaining Gilmer 50 Atl 13. Scorched earth policy.
  12. Atl gives it up on downs. 1st down Bux from their own 37.
  13. A wheel came off and the cart rolled over in the ditch and caught fire. 43-13 Gilmer in the 3rd qtr.
  14. I was not bragging about the Bears Victory over the Bucks in 2001. In fact, I am a Buckeye fan. I was merely pointing out that the previous poster had said Gladewater had not won in 15 years. I can see that the Henderson fans, specifically, thetruelionking, have comprehension problems.
