  1. liberal- big taxes, big government, expand welfare, humanistic (feels good, do it) conservative- limited taxes, limited government, reduce welfare, Judeo-Christian morals/values (not an exhaustive list)
  2. Yes, history is repeating itself. Dems are trying to make us lose a war for purely political reasons, again. That's what happened in Vietnam, Mr. History Expert. When the "surge" works he'll be remembered as the President that had the balls to finish a war no matter what political attacks were hurled his way.
  3. Never heard President Bush say that the war was a mistake. And, you are confusing Conservative with Republican. They are not the same. President Bush sold himself as a Conservative but he is consistently proving that he is not.
  4. Answer: No, not if you are a Christian that considers God's Word absolute truth. If you don't hold that belief, then I don't believe that you are a Christian; therefore, you are then free to be a liberal who just uses God's Word out of context to justify an ungodly ideaology.
  5. Parents need to speak up if they want a change in discipline philosophy at LHS. Last year there were many students that 50+ tardies with no action taken by any administrator. When the then new principal, Milton Wallace attempted to address the problem he was shut down by the good Dr. Thirty to forty LHS teachers then signed a letter that went to the good Dr. that expressed their support for Mr. Wallace's tardy policy as a cry for help. Her response..............was no response whatsoever. She has lied by commision and omission several times to parents concerning discipline issues at LHS, and seemingly has no backbone for discipline. The fights are a result of students getting away with tardies and other seemingly minor violations. These experiences have taught them that they don't have to respect authority figures, and that is why teachers are being injured during these altercations. These incedences of teachers being injured are not new at LHS. Things have been steadily worsening since the good Dr. arrived and instituted her "NO HARM FIRST" discipline philopsophy. She once told me that she caught some kids smoking on the tennis courts before school and told them that they knew better and she would hope to not find them there again. I have much more to say but no time. Again, teachers have tried to get change but to no avail. Parents need to step up before something worse happens.
  6. I study history and the future! And history tells me that the next time that He says "It is finished," IT will truly be finished for those that don't believe. I don't want that for anyone, but some will choose it. I hope that you are not one of them, or your children for that matter. My invitation to you is still open if you change your mind about meeting.
  7. You'll have to go back a lot furthur than that to find the real Hebrew meanings. What's the "real Hebrew meaning" for GET A CLUE before it's too late!:ugh:
  8. In Matthew 16, Jesus may be talking about the Transfiguration, where the 'skin' of his flesh was peeled off to reveal the glory of God inside of him (which happened a week after this passage in ch 17) which in turn demonstrated the future coming of the Glory of God. Another way to look at it is that this passage is that it may refer to the Son of Man's authority and kingly reign on Earth through the church, which his disciples WERE a part of in their lifetimes. The context seems to favor the first interpretation. In Luke 21:32 if the reference was the second coming, "generation" might indicate the Jewish people as a race (the specific Greek word used does not have a literal English translation), who were promised existence to the very end. Otherwise, it may refer to the generation in the future when Christ returns. It does not mean that Jesus had a mistaken notion of a quick return. "Kingdom of Heaven" may also refer to the coming of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts. As for the Dinosaurs...sorry but there's no evidence in the Bible or elsewhere that men ever lived with Dinosaurs. The Bible (in Genesis and elsewhere) actually supports the theory of guided evolution. Please explain how 7 literal days of creation (which is very clearly stated in Genesis) supports "guided" evolution. Is "guided evolution" the same as theistic evolution (which is a bunch of bunk as well)?
