  1. Some of those mid-major teams can play some football. I hope teams like BYU, Boise State, and Utah keep winning games against the biased powerhouse conferences. I have to hand it to BYU, they played a great game.

The mighty mighty have fallen. I just hopes this knocks OU out of the BSC contention. I'm tired of seeing them get thumped, much like Ohio State. Wow, The Ohio State really whipped up on Navy today 31-27.

This loss will not knock OU out of contention for the BCS, remember BYU was #20 after all, but one thing is for certain, OU MUST run the table from here on out this season, and I do not see this happening.....UT is the front runner in the Big XII, especially with Bradford out at OU for at least 4 weeks.....Okie State is definitely scary, I think they are my #2 in the Big XII.....Luckily for OU though, they will play Idaho St. next, then Tulsa, then a bye week, before they take on Miami......so, maybe Bradford will be back by then, otherwise OU will have a tough time....It is always tough for a team to have to use a Freshman for their game plan, especially with the lack of experience with Landry Jones and that miserable Offensive Line they have, lol. One thing for sure I want to see though this year is Bradford and Gresham back by the time the Red River Rivalry game occurs, this way when UT wins it won't be one of those "what if" games that everyone talks about for the rest of the year until the next time around!!!! On the same note though, I pray that Colt McCoy stays healthy.....As Lindy's Big XII preview states, "If Colt McCoy is lost to injury, the Longhorns' season will be lost." It is the same with the Sooners as you can see from last night......

  2. Looking at her Myspace made me want to puke. The baby is being taken care of now for the first time in her life.

I agree 5-O, I AM sick at my stomach from looking at that page.....I am a father of 3 and I cannot see how anyone who is a parent could do something so heinous to a child like that.......It just goes to show everyone what kind of sick individuals are out there in this world......

  3. Two things to keep in mind:

    1) This guy is a Soviet/America-hating relic. For him to admit America has prospered in the wake of the profound downfall of his country would be admitting America is better. Not going to happen.

    2) "We" are not any of those countries you mentioned. We are America.

BTW, just wondering. Where in the Bible is the plan for countries to build, prosper, decline, and break apart? Not beating on you, but you said it was God's plan. If it is, then it'll be somewhere in the Bible.

Hey bleeds. I knew it would only be a matter of time before I saw a reply from you on here, lol.....I totally agree with you on #1, and as for #2, I do realize that we are America, and I do love my country dearly, but I am afraid and I just know deep down that one day we will be no more and it is only a matter of when and how.

As for the Bible, trust me, I am a God-loving man, but I have an open mind about things, as I am sure that you have noticed, and lets face it, we could start a whole new thread about the Bible and debate how its origins, although Holy, were passed down by oral traditions for centuries before being written by scribes, and I hate to bring in the word religious zealots here, but when we had oral "historians" and then individual scribes/clerics passing down this information orally at first and then on printed paper and preaching this information to the uneducated and illiterate populace, I have no doubt that original passages were "modified" over time to suit the desires and opinions of those who preached it, especially the early leaders of the Catholic Church, for example, whose many atrocities have been well-documented throughout history.....Instead, yes I do read the Bible, but I take it with a grain of salt, and instead rely on prayer and what my heart tells me is true to determine what I feel is right or wrong........and as for my examples of ancient and modern societies breaking up and new one's forming, you don't really have to read the Bible to know that it is true, all you need to do is see it for yourself and know that it is true.

A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.

Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse."

The paper said Panarin's dire predictions for the U.S. economy, initially made at an international conference in Australia 10 years ago at a time when the economy appeared strong, have been given more credence by this year's events.

When asked when the U.S. economy would collapse, Panarin said: "It is already collapsing. Due to the financial crisis, three of the largest and oldest five banks on Wall Street have already ceased to exist, and two are barely surviving. Their losses are the biggest in history. Now what we will see is a change in the regulatory system on a global financial scale: America will no longer be the world's financial regulator."

When asked who would replace the U.S. in regulating world markets, he said: "Two countries could assume this role: China, with its vast reserves, and Russia, which could play the role of a regulator in Eurasia."

Asked why he expected the U.S. to break up into separate parts, he said: "A whole range of reasons. Firstly, the financial problems in the U.S. will get worse. Millions of citizens there have lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse, and this means that whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Dissatisfaction is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the elections and the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles."

He also cited the "vulnerable political setup", "lack of unified national laws", and "divisions among the elite, which have become clear in these crisis conditions."

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

He even suggested that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.

I know this guy is no psychic, but lets face it, when it does happen he will be listed as one, and incorrectly labeled so....... every society throughout history that has gained the "pinnacle" of power has at some point broken up. For me, the US breaking up has always been an accepted idea for me and I have never questioned the "IF" aspect of the possibility, but the "WHEN" aspect....I just hope that I am long gone by the time this happens though.......For example, look at ancient Persia, Rome, Sparta, Athens, the Macedonians, Egypt, Mongols under Ghengis Khan, the Mayans, Aztecs, Incans, the Communist Bloc in the former Soviet Union, and for those who choose to believe it, the Atlanteans of Atlantis......Need I say more? It is the natural cycle of things, everything on this planet and in the universe for that matter, including human civilization, runs in orchestrated cycles. I believe that that is how God engineered the universe, because cycles always refresh themselves anew once they come full circle. Every one of these great powers had their time and once they broke up and their cycle was done, a new power would rise either from the ashes or during the decline of that cycle.

  5. The Big 12 needs to put in a better tie breaker at least. The situation is not the fault of the BCS, it is the fault of the Big 12.

RedCreek, I do agree with you....here is an idea that I thought of to help break a 3 way tie breaker, were it to ever happen again in the North or South of the conference.....instead of just the highest BCS team getting the nod to play for the Big XII trophy in the event of a 3 way tie, have the top 2 BCS rated teams out of the 3 way tie play each other a week before the championship game to determine who has the right to play in the Big XII championship......

  6. you'd better go with FACTS. The FACT is Texas BEAT Oklahoma 45-35 in a real game that took place on October 11, 2008, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX.

Hey Cat, I agree we should go with facts.....One fact I have is that my Horns never had the TT game until a brief moment in the 4th quarter, but they lost that one if you recall, and it was a real game that happened too, and I am still sore from that loss. Another fact that is hard to grasp is that OU decimated TT, the team that beat my Horns, rememer, and decimated them by the 1st half alone, I might add, that was also a real game that just took place too......location doesn't mean squat to me, teams lose at home, on the road, or neutral all the time, depending upon how they play and match up to each other.....But right now I have to give the advantage to OU because of how they have looked since they lost to UT and how they manhandled TT.....

  7. Actually, all horns fans should be hoping that OU and Tech both win this week, lol........If OU loses and Tech wins, then it is the head to head case where TT beat UT, so TT would go to the Big XII Championship.......if all 3 teams win, then it is based on who has the highest BCS score that determines who goes to the Bix XII Championship, which right now is UT......so right about now most Horns fans are really rooting for both those Sooners and the Red Raiders to win this week.......then, UT has to hope that OU doesn't squash Okie St. and leap frog them in the BCS.......and right now for the moment I must say that OU is the scariest team in the nation to have to play......since the UT loss they have not only stomped their opponents, but have usually stomped them by the end of the first half.......

And as for earlier comments about UT beating OU head to head, absolutely they did beat them, and by 10.....but as I do recall, UT couldn't do squat against Tech and had to fight the whole game just to take a lead and then lose it in the final minute, and that was/is the same Tech team that OU quite literally destroyed..........................In the first half...............I just thought I'd mention that. I am a Horn fan, and a Sooner fan as well, but I have to be honest with myself on this one, OU looks far more impressive right now than either TT or UT, and if you are honest with yourself as either a Horn or a Raider, you should be saying it too.........

  8. Jason, I know you and I have had our differences, so I hesitate to comment here, as I don't want you to think this is a continuation of that, as it is not. But the highlighted comment above is corporate spin. I believe you know that.

I have friends who work in management here. There are VERY frank about unions and how welcome they are at WM. The bottom line on that is, the butchers were cut out (pardon the pun) because of union interests. Now, other things that were money-saving measures may have come about because of that, but the bottom line is in-store meat cutting ended due to the unions looking to organize the butchers.

As for you open-door environment, the people I know who work for WM, and these aren't checkers, etc, sing a different song. The things you tell us are, for lack of a better word and not to enflame you, spin.

Bleeds, don't worry, I know you don't mean to inflame anything I have said, and as for past disagreements between us, well isn't that what a forum is for, debating and disagreeing??? LOL, anyway, in case you haven't figured it out yet, I myself am a Wal-Mart Store Assistant Manager at Store #781, and I have been with the company for 7 years now, both as an hourly associate and now as an Assistant Manager......

In one of my first posts on this thread I mentioned that not every store is the same, demographically or geographically, and to expand on that, what I mean is that there will be much more diverse areas than others in terms of ideology, political stances, social diversity, etc........I must admit that not every Wal-Mart store is a "good" store, and there will always be people who are disgruntled with the way things are run, and unfortunately it always seems to be the negative-minded people you hear about the most, either from word of mouth or the news, and not the individuals that have fallen in love with the Wal-Mart way. But with over 2 million past and present associates employed at Wal-Mart, the company must be doing something right for it to be attractive to potential employees, otherwise no one would apply to work there.

Now in your defense Bleeds, you have not been enamored into the Wal-Mart culture, that I know of, of course......But working for Wal-Mart is not for everyone, trust me, I have hired and fired my fair share of associates, and all of them from every walk of life I can assure you.....

Now to get back on topic, yes I know how "welcome" unions are at Wal-Mart, but it goes back to what I said earlier, even though you say it is corporate spin.....it actually is one of our corporate policies......We feel that unions are unneccessary here because why would any hard working associate want to take their hard earned money and give it to someone who is supposed to speak for them in their business matters when that individual is more than capable of doing it themselves??? That is the whole underlying ideal behind the Open Door, and why we feel that unions are unnecessary in today's day and age.

I also know that the Employee Free Choice Act is quite literally an act of desperation by the unions, because all across the board union membership is falling dramatically and with that their income, and with the passage of this bill into Law it will give the unions, in my opinion, an unfair advantage into moving into EVERY major retail chain in the US as well as the commercial, industrial, and manufacturing sectors that are not already unionized.......Since the game has failed, the unions are changing the rules of the game with this bill, and unfairly I might add. Now instead of a 30% card turn in which initiates the need for a secret ballot vote, where in the process of the secret ballot vote, 50% plus 1 will unionize a small portion of a business (example, Butchers at Wal-Mart). With 50% card signatures under the EFCA, the union will move in, and also not just into one area of a business, for example the butchers in Wal-Mart, but the entire facility itself will become totally Unionized.......The only thing that will save some businesses, not just Wal-Mart, will be rather or not your state is known as a Right To Work State......By the way, thank God Texas is, lol......There is more to this bill, if anyone wants to know, just ask and I can provide more on a separate reply, this one is getting a bit long......

  9. remember when they were trying to unionize Wal-Mart, and still do...remember not long ago, Wal-Mart used to actually have butchers. When the butchers were going to organize, Sam Walton made quick work of it, and got rid of all the butchers, and now you see Wal-Mart has prepackaged meat. Wal-Mart is by far one of the most aggressive companies that fight the unions. No telling how many millions and millions of dollars they have to spend. Also, one reason why a lot of Wal-Mart employees don't work "full time".

Hey parent, I wanted to touch upon your statement a bit, and yes I have to defend my company on this one, LOL.......the choice of cutting out meat cutters in Wal-Mart was not solely to eliminate the union prescence, that was a part of it, yes, but look at the profit aspect of it, and also the food safety aspect as well......Wal-Mart found a way to pre-package meat with machines instead of humans, which makes alot of financial sense, because you don't have to pay a machine $15 to $30 dollars an hour to cut meat.....lets face it, for the most part, unions, like meat-cutters (butchers), really aren't that necessary anymore......

Wal-Mart board of directors, not Sam Walton, made the decision to elimate this position to save on expenses, as well as food safey. With machines cutting meat instead of human hands, you have less of a chance of foreign objects such as fuzz, lint, hair, dirt, microbes, bacteria, saliva, viruses, etc. from entering the food that is going to eventually be consumed by people which can make them sick. And as I learned in Wal-Mart Food School: *Remember, it is always easier to clean and sanitize a machine than clean and sanitize a human being.

Yes Wal-Mart is very aggressive with unions, but not because we are anti-union, though, rather it is because in reality we are pro-associate........Wal-Mart has always fostered an Open-Door environment that allows every Associate's voice to be heard, no matter what the issue, or the problem, the complaint, or the idea on how to make things better.

As for the "full-time" facts, every Wal-Mart is supposed to be made up of 60% Full-Time and 40% Part-Time associates, although every store is different demographically and geographically, so in reality you may never have it just right but for the most part stores are fairly close to this percentage....and as for the "dreaded" facts on health insurance at Wal-Mart, we are proud to know that approximately 89% of ALL Wal-Mart associates now have at least some form of insurance through the company.....

  10. The $25B bailout and this bill are pay-back for the UAW delivering a ton of votes to Obama. The DNC is in the pocket of the UAW.

Hey bleeds, how are ya? I would have to agree with you on this one......Does this not scare the crud out of you though to think about what would happen if this bill does pass??? I am an assistant store manager for a very large national retailer and the thought of our company slowly becoming unionized in this fashion is quite terrifying to be honest. And were this bill to pass, however, it would not just be our company, but EVERY major company in the nation, including every entity from the commercial and industrial sector, would be vulnerable to becoming unionized......and here is the best part, Obama co-sponsored this bill in 2007.......and has also promised to sign it once it clears the house and senate this year.........Could this get any worse?

Actually yes, we worry about our economy now, just imagine what will happen when companies have to pay for the extra wages that always seem to accompany union collective bargaining agreements......what is the first thing a company usually does when they must meet higher payroll demands? Raise prices for their products and services of course. And the sad thing about it is that usually the higher wages the employees receive goes straight to the union dues, which actually does nothing to line the employee's pockets but instead lines the unions' pockets.......what a mess this really is. Surely there are more level headed people in the House and Senate than there are air-heads who will see the futility and recklessness of such an act. I truly believe that passing this bill will be more destructive for our economy than any series of natural disasters or famine could ever be.......

  11. While I don't expect this to happen, as you seem to be quite enthused with yourself, you should in fact get over yourself. You seem to ignore facts and bask in the glow of self-aggrandizement. You love you some you.

This is how it went. I made a comment about the then candidate Obama running a (tongue in cheek) "clean" election. You refuted that and said unless I had facts, I shouldn't make comments like that. I gave facts. You ignored those facts and began to find claims of voter fraud by the Republicans. I pointed out your rants did not set aside the fact that ACORN and the PE were inexoribily tied together. Still, not good enough for you. You got your feelings hurt when I assumed, based on your screen name you were a smug, know it all college student and went off a little rant. I apologized for misidentifying you as a college student, said I should have stopped with "smug, know it all" and continued to point out your naivete and agreed with your uncle. You dug your head even deeper into the sand.

    Did I miss anything?

    Don't do drugs.

Bleeds I am no more in love with myself than you or anyone else on here, obviously your hypocrisy knows no bounds, lol......How do I ignore facts exactly, bleeds, when I have been posting facts based on the links I have provided? "I gave facts" Actually, no you didn't, Strawberry gave facts, in the form of concrete evidence; links, you gave us nothing and I know it is hard for you, but you can admit to being wrong on this, it won't kill you to say dude, your right, I did not present any concrete facts, lol.......No my feelings are not hurt, trust me, lol, you can sleep tonight without worrying about me and my feelings, but it is awful sweet of you to take a moment to think about me, and it is entertaining for me to see you attempt to get me riled up, for I do love to argue. :flowers: Where exactly did drugs come into this whole conversation? Are you that desperate to try to get me riled up that you will resort to suggesting that I am under the influence? Well I can assure you that I have never tried any illegal substance, not even a cigarette, so nice try, have a good evening and I will chat with you again later, time to put the kids to bed......

Where we have gone with this debate is to prove EXACTLY what I said in the first place, regarding both the ties to ACORN by the PE, and the fact you are a smug, know it all.

  12. I just heard that John Kerry, Kennedy's yes man, is interested in becoming Secretary of State. Can you imagine how America will go in the toliet if this happens?

God I hope this does not happen.....I have said that I will give Obama my support but with Kerry in the Cabinet that will be a hard task for me....

  13.

Excellent information Straw, I applaud you for doing your research, thank you for adding such good information to this debate, this will allow everyone to get a better view of the information presented and make up their own mind as to what is really going on.......although at this point with all of the loops and turns we have all taken on this thread I am lost as to where we have actually gone with this debate......it certainly is not where we started with the original topic that much is for certain.......But once again, thanks for actually presenting something concrete that we all can study.......

  14. So, it's okay for you to attack me?

Save your liberal rant fancy-boy. What you said was wrong. I gave instances of why you were wrong. And guess what, you're still wrong.

Sorry for the mislabeling. I took by your screen name and your obvious thoughts that you do in fact know it all that your were a college student, not unlike the others who have come on here and made arguements equally as baseless and naive as yours. Sorry. I should have said "smug, know-it-all" and left it at that.

No one said anything about how inconsequential the numbers of illegally registered voter was. You seemed to indicate claims of same were baseless. As I said, you were wrong. Now, I'm sorry if you don't like being told you are wrong, but with naive arguements like yours, you had better get used to it, because you're going to be told that a lot.

BTW, I did not attack my opponent. I pointed out the fact there was voter registration fraud on the part of the Democratic party and ACORN. I also pointed out the our new PE has ties with the aforementioned subversive organization, ALL of which are true.

    BTW, you're uncle was right.

    Stay in school.

BTW, shouldn't your screenname be "jasonnmarblefalls"? That would alleviate some of the problems here.

#1) "So, it's okay for you to attack me?" Never in my post did I attack you personally with insults, common sense will tell you that bleeds, unlike your previous posts to me.

#2)"Save your liberal rant fancy-boy. What you said was wrong. I gave instances of why you were wrong. And guess what, you're still wrong." You gave us nothing as to why I was wrong, if I remember correctly, I gave you and everyone on this forum actual links with stories showing not only my points, but both sides of the story showing proof of my stance, you have given us nothing concrete as a matter of fact that does back up your point......

#3) "Sorry for the mislabeling. I took by your screen name and your obvious thoughts that you do in fact know it all that your were a college student, not unlike the others who have come on here and made arguements equally as baseless and naive as yours. Sorry. I should have said "smug, know-it-all" and left it at that." Once again, a personal attack stating that I am a know-it-all which is not the case. "smug, know-it-all" is still a personal attack and yet another fallacy.

#4) "No one said anything about how inconsequential the numbers of illegally registered voter was. You seemed to indicate claims of same were baseless. As I said, you were wrong. Now, I'm sorry if you don't like being told you are wrong, but with naive arguements like yours, you had better get used to it, because you're going to be told that a lot."

Yes, I actually did say the numbers are inconsequential because they are, and I know I am right about it. I have no problem dealing with being told I am wrong when I know I am wrong, but in this case I am right and am sticking to my guns and have provided links to prove my point, no one else has shown anything else to contradict my point, therefore I must believe that I am right. What is naive in any debate is stating your position and then not being prepared to back it up somehow with facts.....where are yours again??

#5) "BTW, I did not attack my opponent. I pointed out the fact there was voter registration fraud on the part of the Democratic party and ACORN. I also pointed out the our new PE has ties with the aforementioned subversive organization, ALL of which are true." Yes you attacked your opponent, in this case me, with personal attacks and insinuations, your previous posts show it in plain type, and in english too! As for the ties to the organization, what ties are those again? I saw no direct connection or ties to the organization in question when I did my research earlier......

  15. So it's ok to cheat if it's a blowout, but in a close race no cheating allowed?

There is still no concrete proof that either side cheated, clutch, that is what I am trying to convey. We have reports in the links that I posted of supposed or alleged abuses by both sides, but the vast majority of those cases were explained away sufficiently if you will actually go in depth and read them......only a few isolated cases have resulted in actual legal inquiries or the request for a legal inquiry into questionable activity......but as I stated earlier, the numbers of supposed fraud incidents is inconsequential to the actual results, and I realize now that for some the reality of this must be hard to accept, but Obama won fairly and is our new president, and we all should give him a chance as our president before we automatically chalk up his presidency as a total flop, especially when the man doesn't even take office until January......

  16. Smug, know-it-all college students. Don't you just love 'em?

Jason, I'll type slowly so you can understand. It's not about turning in all the registration cards. It's about not going out of your way to fraudulently register as many people (or non-people, if you will) as you can in hopes of getting as many accepted as you can. It's the mud on the wall theory (the more you sling on the wall the more that is likely to stick).

ACORN knowingly did this. I saw an interview with a guy who admitted to signing up 73 times himself, all of which were accepted by ACORN. That's fraud, anyway you look at it.

As I said, you can continue to stick your head in the sand about voter fraud all you want. You willing ignorance will not make it go away nor obfuscate the fact it happened.

Once again, your argument is all wrong......First of all I am a 26 year old college graduate and a married father of 3 who is now an assistant store manager for a major retailer stationed here in Marble Falls, so your "smug, know-it-all college students" argument is blown out of the water.....second, you have resorted to the worst type of fallacy you can incur in any intellectual debate.....you have resorted to attacking your "opponent".....this is usually done when an individual has lost the initiative during a debate and now is left with no other recourse but to attack his/her "opponent" to make a last ditch attempt to "win" the debate and save face.......Secondly, I find it very interesting that in debates past on other threads I have seen conservatives such as yourself bashing liberals that have resorted to the same attacks with personal remarks/insults and yet I find you and others doing the same thing now to me, who just happens to share most of the same ideals as conservatives, and even voted for McCain (although I tend to be more middle of the road than a traditional conservative).......Lastly, If the popular vote by itself or even the swing state votes, etc. were even remotely close in terms of margin between Obama and McCain, then I would seriously be jumping on the bandwagon of voter fraud, but fortunately in this case the results were not even close, Obama clearly won this election, and close to a landslide at that, and as I said before, the people have spoken.......Yes it is possible that a few hundred or even a few thousand voters were illegally registered by Republican and Democratic affiliated entities alike nationwide, but those numbers are far inconsequential to be of any concern as to the validity of the results of this election........agree?

Bleeds, there is an old saying that my uncle reminded me of recently, and it states that "There is none so blind as those who will not see."
