  1. LOL..man you sure are good there frank. You sure your not the best? I would be happy to engage you in a battle of wits, but I dont think you are up to it. Ive seen some of your posts.....and well....you are without.
  2. That post wasnt necessarily to toot my own horn as much as it was to show you lightweights you didnt invent putting pictures in your post on smoaky.com. That was back in the good old days when D'field hadnt won anything in a while. Oh wait.....they still havent...LOL
  3. I havent posted in a long time, but the soccer forum was made because of yours truly. :flowers: Its a shame most of the posts are gone now. I think I earned my name "Rouser of Rabble".
  4. See if this doesnt get ur football blood flowing  **A warning about the first song...its R rated** You can just turn it down or mute it.
  5. Personally, I agree with the poster who said he would rather play a spread team than a team that can run it up your rear. Nothing is more demoralizing than having the ball shoved down your throat and you are made to like it. I guess it all comes down to wether you like finesse or power football. Southlake Carrol has won State Championships running the Bone and the spread. You would have a hard time making me believe that at this moment with the athletes they have, that they wouldnt be successul in any offense. I tend to believe the old adage "Its not the X's and O's, its the Jimmy's and the Joe's". I do, however, believe that you can fit an offense to your talent, and if you have a lot of guys you can throw to and a QB to throw, get u some of that spread.
  6. I agree with you. In 2001, Celina suited up close to 90 players for the state championship game compared to about 45 for Garrison. What made it even worse, they were in the Class 2A Div II small school bracket. Ridiculous!!!! What is the silliest thing to me is that in the Great State of Texas....where Football is King....we have 2...count them.. 2 State Champions per classification. Its a joke. I dont care if you have to take 4 teams per district, but there should be just 1 (ONE) State Champion per Classification.
  7. What if a frog had wings....?? He wouldn't bump his butt when he hopped. If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts......we would all have a Merry Christmas. :yay:
  8. Mart v. Lone Oak...the Quan Cosby hightlight film...13-9, Mart. regional title game, still painful to think about, Lone Oak should have punted or run the ball on 4th down, still dont know why Turner elected to pass into that strong wind, and what does he get, Quan picking it off and taking it to the house I was at this game. I came away with one thing. Out of my 20 some odd years of being around football, Lone Oak that year was one of the best tackling teams I have ever seen. I even got confirmation of my feelings about that team by a coaching legend....G.A. Moore.
  9. LOL.... When i started reading this thread, thats exactly what i thought. I have never been a fan of the 2 state champion teams for each classification. Can you say watered down? Now, I have no doubt that teams that have won state championships in the State of Texas are very good teams, but to compare the state champions of today to those who played the very best competition back in the day....well its asinine at best. I long for the day that there is ONE State Champion per classification. I personally dont give a rat's tail if you have to invite 4 teams per district so the money can be made, but ONE State Champion is what Texas needs. My gosh...we are the Hotbed of High School Football, and we have taken on the world's soccer mentality of "We are all winners", so let everyone have a state championship. Those of you who would argue, I ask you this. Would you want another state champion per classification. You know, the small school, medium school, and big school champion. Retarded right? Yet we are 2/3 of the way there. As for the who was the best team ever....you young'uns better sit down and learn. Tatum and Gilmer probably gave up 8 points for the year by their second football games.(I know D'field gave it up by its 3rd game, but thats all they gave up, comprende'?) Think about that for a moment...let it sink in. Smoaky said it best ....Defense always wins out over Offense.....always. I have yet to hear anyone change the axiom....Defense wins Championships. By that, there is no comparison.
  10. My favorite Chuck Norris fact: Chuck Norris doesn't believe in the Periodic Table....he only believes in the Element of Surprise. :lurk:
  11. I need some of you young fellows to help me out. I need some music that you guys get krunk to..lol. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  12. I just saw on g4tv that everyone that has played the xbox 360 have come away thinking that it should be better. Some are calling it almost next gen. LOL PS3 will blow it out of the water. Xbox live or not.
  13. I have an ipod, and I quit using Itunes. Its stinks. I use xplay2. So much more user friendly.
  14. Wow!! Folks talking deep! Once saved always saved is a very touchy subject. It's right up there with predestination and the like. Lets first take in consideration that "once saved always saved" is not in the bible. If it is, then it must be next to "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". LOL Thats kinda like people saying Seperation of Church and State is in the Constitution. Anyways, I personally believe that once a person is saved, that there is nothing any outside force be it demon, person, or other natural/unnatural force can do to change that. With that being said, I do believe that a person can make the decision to turn their back on God. It doesnt mean God turns his back on them because He will do everything possible to help them find their way back. He does give us a choice. If not, then we get into that predestination thing. Now, someone above brought up something that really bothers me. I have heard it said so many times. Its the "that person wasn't saved to begin with" argument. The thing that bothers me about this is that the people who say "once saved always saved" are the ones who tell everyone how "easy" it is to be saved. You know...all you have to do is go down front and say a prayer and viola' you are saved. The bible doesn't support this idea at all. Narrow and hard is way I believe that bible speaks of salvation and your walk with God. Now I leave you folks with this. When Jesus taught his disciples about the Lord's Prayer, he told them that " If you dont forgive, you cant be forgiven". He wasnt talking to those who dont know God. If the simple act of unforgiveness leaves us unforgiven, where does that leave us? Still saved? I'll let you decide that. I really can't say for certain, but it sure makes you think.
