  1. Tenaha will be there no question. In the mean time how about in the spirit of respect please realize that Tenaha students had to put one of their own in the ground last Saturday! That seems like the right thing to do!
  2. Was at the game and all I can say is SPEED!! Hard to beat a Tiger when you're chasing his tail all night!! This game could have easily been a shut out!
  3. Can't find any of Overstreet's stats on the web Here is Davis Passing 101-169 2015 Yards 24 TD 5 Int. Rushing 172 - 1915 Yards 35 TD Also go here http://www.texasfootball.com/highschool-news/view/179703
  4. First I never said anything about Overstreet....but since you brought it up we can debate this and I will let ESPN and Rivals do the talking for me! Overstreet ESPN 3 Star Recruit Ranked 94th in the Region Ranked 74th in the State Rivals Only a 3 Star Recruit Davis ESPN 4 Star Recruit Ranked 17th in the Region Ranked 11th in the State Ranked 84th in the ESPN Top 150 (Overstreet didn't make the list) Rivals 4 Star Recruit Ranked 232 in the Rivals to 250 (Again Overstreet didn't make the list) Ranked 32nd best player in the State (Again Overstreet didn't make the list) Soooo YES Davis over Overstreet! ( pun intended )
  5. Reginald Davis is on the second team??? This list is a JOKE!
  6. When I was a senior at Gladewater in 2004 we beat Sabine by a score of 33-3 and we were torn up just like Lake Highlands is now! We decided to just take one base at a time. That is the right thing to do! Its not Lake Highlands fault that Samuell can not field a baseball team. The Samuell Coach could have forfeited the game but he didnt. Sabine could have done the same thing...BUT THEY DIDNT!! As the leader of the Gladewater team back in '04 the Coach asked me if we should just strike out! I TOLD HIM THAT THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL I WAS GOING TO SHOW MERCY BY STRIKING OUT!!!....That is not the way the game is to be played! We put 9 players in the field just like Sabine did. We beat the hell out of them and then shook their hands like gentlemen when it was over!! You win some and you lose some and sometimes it rains!!
  7. go back and read again....I said I had "a little inside info." just because I'm a former official doesn't mean when I stopped calling games that I don't know anyone else that is still in the chapter. The chapter holds itslef to very high standards. Everyone is quick to judge the officials on everything. Keep in mind that these officials don't do this for the money because it doesn't pay what they deserve and have to deal with. They do it for the love of the kids and the sport! Officiating is not a full time job for the majority or them. It's a second job that they enjoy and are spending countless hours away from their family for the beneift of YOUR child not theirs! How come ur not one? I will tell you it takes a brave man to wear those stripes! I know my info to be correct so you might wanna start asking ur coach these questions!

  9. Notice as I said I was a former official there for I don't know when the meeting occured I just know it happens every year before the season starts.
  10. Ok the officials didn't show up to the game because they were not scheduled to do so.....as a former official I will give a little inside info. Before every season TASO ( Texas Association of sports Officials) and the chapters that the schools use ( in this case it would be the Longview chapter )have meetings for coaches to attend....in this meeting rule changes and other procedures are discussed with the coaches of the schools and also coaches are to supply the chapter with a schedule of games to be played. The games are then put into a computer to be assigned to the crews to call the games. In every sport the home team is reponsible for officials then they are both agreed upon by both schools....in this case like I said before the game was not scheduled due to the fact the Joaquin coach did not attend the meeting.....I am only telling this not to stir up anthing between these two schools ( as I have no affliation with either ) but to inform everyone that this was not the chapters fault and that no official was hurt in travelng to the game! Good luck to both teams God bless and god bless America !
  11. By far the best game I have seen since November 1st of last year when Tech beat Texas!!! Davis for Tenaha..... Wow by far the best athlete on the field tonight....3 td's and ge is only a sophomore!!!! This kid can play for any team in the state of Texas and that includes the college level! Great game by both teams! Go tigers and GETCHA FEET WET next week in 'da Water and send Maud back to bfe packing!
  12. As a former Gladewater Student/Athlete I would like to say Thank You to the White family for everything that they have done for the Gladewater community. You will be missed Jimmy!!! God Bless
  13. Haha that's funny if you want to watch two of Tenaha's student athleltes then just tune into ESPN on Oct. 21st. I'm not sure when the last time a Joaquin student was on national television so please refresh my memory.............don't worry I'll wait.........still waiting.......that should say enough about tenaha doing the best for their students in the long run. If you have ever met the supt. From tenaha then you would know he's doing whatever it takes to prepare these kids for life!
  14. I'm not so sure about this GUS. I do believe Tenaha was a Recognized Campus last year. It must be painful for Joaquin that Tenaha kids (who by the way 70% are economically disadvantage kids) beats you in Football, Basketball, Futbol, and trackand maybe quit possibly even TAKS. Also, not to mention now they have THE BEST facilities in Shelby County. It really must be painful that 52 weeks out of the year Tenaha is producing more with their kids than yours! I'm not sure how much the transfer fee is for Tenaha but they might even wave it for you to bring you kid over......just my opinion....
  15. I was at the game and it was a good one. What i cant figure out is why Joaquin was still running the ball when Tenaha had 10 men in the box. I know Joaquin's offense is designed for the run but i dont think it can be done with 10 in the box. Can Joaquin not throw at all? I'm not a coach but even i know if i dont throw with that many in the box my team is more than likely going to have a long night....
