  1. I know it's off topic, but why can't someone bring some kind of baseball in here to utilize that facility. Surely there is enough fan support judging by the people that have turned out at the World Series. I was there both days this weekend and it seemed like alot of local people were there.
  2. You are missing out. Great park, good games, great atmosphere for kids.
  3. Easy on that "hands down best player mentioned other than Kobe or MJ", Seminole. You might want to look at the first name you mentioned in that post. Aside from "the Big Aristotle" I would agree with you though.
  4. Man, now that's class. I understand the rivalry thing, but why not show the "thumbs up" to draw attention to your school, instead of trying to start #### with one you obviously didn't want to attend.
  5. Would that include the back that was featured on Sportscenter's Plays of the Week?
  6. I think you are right about Armbrister. I couldn't remember the hitter's name but that sounds right. I suspect Cheapy or Shoeless Joe could probably tell us for sure. And since I didn't see the Larson perfect game in person, I would have to say the Kirk Gipson shot was the greatest World Series moment I have ever witnessed. Threads like this are yet another reminder of why baseball is the greatest game ever.
  7. Great season Aggies. I bleed orange but I support any Texas school who is not playing UT. Now I just hope BG sticks around. For your sake and ours.
  8. Roxyball, if you remember the Bernie Carbo homer, then you probably remember that was his second pinch hit hr of the series. The first was I believe a solo shot in game 3 that Dewie Evans tied up in the 9th with a huge shot. Oddly enough Carlton Fisk was also involved in the outcome of this extra inning classic when one of the Reds bunted and Fisk and he collided outside the batters box. Fisk got to the ball and then promptly threw it into centerfield to put the eventual winning run at 3rd. For whatever reason, the ump refused to call runner interference and then my second favorite Red Joe Morgan delivered the game winner. Out of all the World Series I've watched, I think 1975 was probably the best one. Seven games and it seems like everyone of them could have went either way.
  9. "I coached Kirk in Detroit and he doesn't need his legs to hit. His power comes from his wrists". Fast forward to a classic homerun trot and one of the biggest upsets in World Series history.
  10. Yeah. As good as he was, nothing was ever good enough for his dad. He actually flipped out on the field. I believe later he was diagnosed with some type of manic depressive disorder or something along those lines.
  11. Piersall that's right. I kept wanting to say Foxx but I knew that wasn't right. Thanks for the help.
  12. Sandlot because it reminds me of when I was a kid. Does anyone remember an old movie with Anthony Perkins (Psycho) in it? I think the name of the movie was "Fear Strikes Out". I can't remember who's life the movie was based on.
  13. Explain your comment. Why did Hanbrough have no business being on the court, and what business was if of K's? I think what he is saying is that if Hansbrough blows his knee out running down the court or breaks an arm falling to the floor, then everyone on here who is preaching about how it is the coach's decision if he is still in the game, would be ready to string Williams up for having his stud in a game that is over.
  14. Even though it's the minors, those guys still get to play baseball for a living. Still living the little boy's dream. Yet another example of why baseball is the greatest game ever.
  15. What makes anyone think Barry Bonds is going to be an offensive machine this year. He'll be 42 with bad knees and a bum shoulder. Alot of people on hear raving about Barry in Arlington crucified A-Rod this year. Bonds' stats make A-Rod look like he won the triple crown. But I'll bet nobody wants him back.
