  1. Van's defense is starting to figure it out and we all know what the offense is capable of. I think Van runs away with this one. 49-21
  2. Van's strong offense Vs. Kaufman's stout defense should equal one heck of a game for the fans. However, come the second half, Van's passing attack should prove to much for Kaufman's defense. I to look forward after three weeks to see what a healthy Van defense can do. I for one think they will surprise some folks. I've got Van winning by 14+
  3. Van is a team this year that probably will play their best ball in the playoffs. Will they make it to the big show? Well that's a steep climb for this team, but I wouldn't say its beyond the realm of possibility. If the cards fall right, who knows.
  4. Just curious what score by Brownsboro would have been acceptable Friday night. Would 28pts been Ok? Those of us at the game know one play Van would like to have back to achieve that score. Did Van need to score more than 50 on Brownsboro, I think there was another play that Van would have liked to see gone the other way. Before I put Van's QB on defense, I would would take a good look at everything that led to the 35pts(including two of Van's starting defensive players out due to injury), and appreciate the fact that Brownsboro played a great game and capitalized off the opportunities that were awarded them.
  5. Van might be "clearly beatable" but we know for sure Brownsboro is. Good game anyways, always a pleasure to see #5 from Brownsboro do his thing. Very classy youngman.
  6. No doubt Brownsboro is coming to play ball tonight. The question is, can they stop Van's high powered offense? I for one don't think so. Van by 3 td.
  7. Van's defense, a quick look. Last weeks win against Crandall had Van's defense I believe providing the offense with 5 turnovers and one score. The offense put up 28. Who do you need more from, the offense or defense? Let's not even bring up Princeton. Athens team this year was 2-3 this year while losing two of their games by 3 or less, the could easily have been 4-1.The 2016 Athens team was 1-4 and losing by several touchdowns in all their loses. This 2017 Athens team is much better than last years. I would also say Athens last two scores last night were trash points. I'm happy with both sides of the ball, if play continues like it is now, Van should go 10-0. A good season if you ask me.
  8. I would very much like to see Van taking on Kennedale again. I will say this, It doesn't matter to me if Van only has a slim chance to beat Kennedale, you won't see me on any forums picking them to beat Van. However, if Van should play Kennedale again and loose, I will be nothing but complimentary to the other team.
  9. Van wins this one. I would like to see Van's offense find their rhythm again. Maybe it was the penalties at Crandall, but they didn't seem as smooth as usual.
  10. Kilgore wins this one. Palestine has lots of talent but had to many penalties against Van, they have to clean that part of the game up to be successful against these harder teams.
  11. True enough, Van's offense will be a lot tougher this week. The offense did not use one of its biggest weapons to the usual frequency. Should be different this week.
  12. The whistles most likely originated from the student section. I was on the opposite side of the stadium and never heard them so I can't be sure as to the loudness or how frequent it's was done.
