  1. CH will beat them worse than I beat up ShoNuff!
  2. I'm going with Coach Klein (He has a lot more plays left in that notebook) Tony D if he can bring Willie Beamin in as his OC Grant Taylor had his kids believing in more than football All kidding aside if you don't have the "Kids" then your team will be very well coached but you will think they underachieved. With that being said Surratt Hank Carter Joseph Dodge Marty Criswell Traylor
  3. If you don't go with the OC or DC, bring a former Lion back to East Texas.
  4. If the OC and DC would have got on the same page and backed 1 guy for getting the job it would have a lot better chance of staying internal. It still might, just know there is a lot of interest from some great coaches outside of the program.
  5. OC from a school with the largest band in Texas!
  6. The Normangee Coach went into private business.
  7. ShoNuff is coaching some O'Line where the tumbleweeds grow back in Lubbock!
  8. I remember back in 2011 when JT started the season 0-3 and made it to the Semi-Final Game. I think I can fix the problems of the JT offense. All they have to do is run the ball to set up the pass, then pass the ball to set up the run. Next time you don't know what to run just call the TD play. I hear all the fans yelling about it in the stands, so I know that one works. If you can't block em - read em- if you cant read em- screen em! Simple X's and O's!!!
  9. Y'all forget the 2010 Defense was one of the best in the state! Only allowing around 11ppg. All-American Chris Hackett with 12 int!
  10. I never mentioned anything about winning or control. I would figure that both would be rewarded for their success. My point was as a Coach I would much rather have the kid with 4 talents giving me everything he has and puts the team above himself. Than to try and count on a talented kid who you never know if he is going to play. 2009-2010 JT started an Olineman that was only 5'7 210. He was 1st team all district in the 5A because he gave everything he had. Same thing in 2011 there was a guard that started that was 5'10 185 and a tackle that subbed in that was 6'0 180. But they would fight. The whole size thing is overrated. Sometimes its those kids that look good in pads that will get you fired!!! I know people will say coach up the size becasue it has potential. But the desire to be great has to be there for the kid as well.
  11. I disagree. Coach holmes and staff have done a good job. The 2nd season is where I think you can see the change in a staff. Does Rush get the credit for the 2012 season no. Holmes and staff still had to gameplan, call the plays, and coach the kids. 1st year you are figuring it out. Who can play what and how to put them in the best situation. In the 2nd season, after you have had the kids through one of your offseasons. How your team produces is a good reflection of the staff you have put together. You know what direction you want to take the program and how to put your team in the best situation to do that.
  12. I love that in the middle of any John Tyler conversation no matter the topic if you say "It has to do with the rising Hispanic population over the last 20 years." And the thread takes the same direction everytime!!!!!!! Demographics are changing all over the state. In 5-20 years all schools will have a strong increase in Hispanic Population. Here is a question for yall? You have a kid with 4 talents and he brings every one of those talents every play and is sold in to the team philosophy. You have a kid with 7 talents and he only only brings 2-3 of those talents to every play and is more worried about his stats than the team. Which one do you go to War with?????? It is not about how big, fast, strong or talented you could be! It's about production!
  13. What ShoNuff died!!!! All because he can't bullets with his teeth! I think it's good when fans come on here and discuss their team. My time at JT was awesome! The fans expected us to win and win big. That provided motivation for me. They would let me know when it wasn't up to their expectations. Nothing wrong with that as long as attacks don't get personal.
  14. Ok fine me and Sho'Nuff will come to town and host a football clinic at Whataburger. We will bring a Whiteboard to draw X's and O's and will get you 10% off at Office Depot on all Playbook copies. The topics will be the following. I'm pretty sure Glaizer will want me to speak on these as well. "Throw it to the tall kid" "Running a Running Back" " Rotating in Rotational Players" "How to win a game with paper stats" Me and Sho'Nuff feel that this would be educational for Coaches and fans of all levels. It does not matter what school you represent. We will talk openly with all who come even if you graduated from Lee!! We have years of clinic experience and know that with our knowledge mixed with your bleacher expertise we would end up packing out the Whataburger. Might even get us some free taquitos!!!! Click :highfive: to sign up!
  15. Wow all this talk of new coaches, players, a new person blowing out the smoke on the run through tunnel! Man this is easy! Figure out a way to play with 6 footballs so that all the skill kids can touch the ball on each play. Then play vs air and that way they will all score every play and get Div 1 scholarships! As for Whitehouse I have a buddy who used to know someone, who once had a friend, that was 42 partners with a guy whose son plays for Lindale. He told me that Whitehouse was not even as good as last year. And that if Last years JT team played them it would be a Cujo win by 21 at least!
