  1. Congratulations to the Eagles. Too much speed for Monahans to handle. No reason to hold their heads down, one of the last 4 teams in the state still playing, plenty to be proud of. That Ian kid is fun to watch, very good ball player. Great game. Hopefully Monahans will adapt a new offense that can keep up with north & east Texas teams. Now for the 3-1/2 hour drive back to McKinney.
  2. There actually holding good coverage. Hope they can keep it up 2nd half. Go green
  3. Blah blah blah. Let the freakin' game begin. Need a tissue? Ha. All of this mouthing has been fun. Tomorrow night will put a cork in it for one teams followers. Good luck to both teams and I pray for a clean and injury free game and travel for the teams and the fans. Let's get it on
  4. Let's go Loboes, almost time to prove what you can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbD6zl6Ggg4
  5. This is great football weather. 4 more days till the showdown in Abilene. I certainly hope this game isn't a blowout by Argyle. I support the Loboes but the pass gets em almost every time. I did watch the Argyle vs Carthage and Gilmer games and am impressed with Aune's scrambling, very good. Not very impressed with his arm though. I think that if Monahans is able to put pressure on the QB and maintain coverage on the receivers and implement their running game, its going to be a great ball game. C'mon Friday. Good luck to both teams.
  6. Looking forward to a great game this coming Friday night. Of course, it seems all of the predictions are biased depending on which school you went to :D . I went to MHS and would enjoy nothing more than to see the Loboes advance to state. But, at this round of the playoffs you have to be able to stop the pass. Historically, the Loboes have not been very good at doing this and it caused them both of their losses this season. I will say that I have seen alot of improvement in defending the pass but with a team like Argyle, you have to definitely be able to shut down the pass. I watched the Prosper game and saw how explosive Argyle is. Prosper did beat Argyle early in the year but you couldnt tell that by the score in the teams second meeting, which Argyle won easily. Monahans runs a good old fashioned smash you in the helmet type of offense and can be effective if ball control is utilized, which limits the number of times an opponent touches the ball on offense. I would like to see the Loboes change their style of offense, as the teams east of Abilene usually can shut it down, but with that being said, this years Lobo team has surprised me. This years team is very aggressive and have been really hitting hard. I have always thought that if a defense hits the ball carry hard enough it will make him think twice about trying to find a hole to run through. I saw that in the Shallowater game and couldnt believe the hits that the Lobo defense was giving out. If Monahans can put pressure on the Aune kid and cover the receivers and maintain coverage, as tempting as it may be to rush the ball, they may have a good chance at beating Argyle. I am equally impressed with the Eagles on both sides of the ball. Great QB and massive OLine. What a game it will be in Abilene on Friday night. Whatever team wins, both are to be congratulated for making it to the last 4. Good luck to the Argyle Eagles and the Monahans Loboes. My family and I will make the 3 hour drive, with the loud horn as usual, supporting the Mean Green Loboes. Go Green Go!
