No disrespect to jett because he is a very classy poster here, but I think that what Winona is missing is discipline. Based on the games I've seen them play, they have the athleticism but they lack focus because they aren't disciplined. It's a shame to let their talent go down the drain for something that, with a little hard work and tough love, could be fixed.

Fans saw it, refs didn't. Those things are gonna happen when dealing with teenage kids, but kudos to the coach who addresses it instead of letting it go!

Exactly! Keeping him on the sideline 'in case they need him to bail them out' just adds fuel to the fire! That teaches him nothing! Set consequences that teach a boy who made a mistake (and the rest of his team) a lesson and stick with it through the pain. Gain lots of progress in the end! Seems to me like this coaching move was strictly to show that the coach was "handling" a situation that he really didn't intend to handle. No lessons learned here. But actually, yes there is - keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about winning with character. Sad, sad!

Sooo..... Back to the topic. Did the Celina QB play last night?

From a family member of a high school and collegiate level official, I can attest to this. This is not a job that anyone can do unless they truly have the passion for it (unlike many, many other jobs that people do half-heartedly). It involves MUCH more than those of us in the stands screaming like we know it all realize. Thank you for the time spent away from your family. A game would not be a game without an officiating crew!

Someone said depends on the coach. So sad, but so true! Why ALL grown men cannot "coach" morals and character to teenage boys is crazy to me! That doesn't mean that all kids make the right decision all the time, but if they don't (as in this case), there must be a punishment to get the point across.
