  1. I would suspect the Bulldogs will win this game though it appears Center has improved from last season. Dawgs by 21.
  2. As bad as I hate to say it I think we need to ask Mack to retire or resign, and fire Harsin and Diaz. Mack brought UT football back, but we've always been a soft team since Mack arrived, and OU has embarrassed us many times since 1998. Most of the OU wins since Mack got here have been in blowout fashion not just solid victories, but demoralizing gut wrenching obliterations and I'm fed up with it. The 2005 team had a few hard nosed guys on the offensive and defensive lines and few hard hitters in the secondary, but we've never had a truly tough and supremely physical team. That starts with the head coach and permeates throughout the program. I am embarrassed as a Longhorn fan. Last year OU beat UT 55-17, and this year was 63-21. Do we have to endure this any longer??? Have the hands of time been turned back to the early 2000s? Why is our offensive line still so weak, and why does Adrian Phillips get to play?
  3. I know it ended up only 56-0 after a 49-0 half time score. Anybody know what kind of numbers Boggie, Pipkin and such had last night?
  4. Texas defense.....needs to quit blitzing so much and just line up and play.
  5. h-town, I see you did real good on your avatar and found a picture of the only cute cheerleader A&M has on campus. Good job! Now if you'll replace the milk men on Saturdays at Kyle Field with her and more girls like her the recruits will surely come rolling in, especially when you couple that with the fact the Ags are in the SEC SEC SEC!!!
  6. I love seeing Arkansas lose to ULM just for all the hate they have for UT.
  7. The recent thumpings CH has put are Carthage are in the record books, but the time in the season they played makes a huge difference. Of course Carthage wanted to win, but when district play and the playoffs roll around Carthage is a COMPLETELY different animal than when they're tinkling and toying with things on both sides of the ball. You don't think a lose early in the season to a strong CH team is too worrisome for the Carthage coaches do you? You win nothing in September! Pre-district games are for improving your team and learning its strengths and weaknesses. I'm not saying Carthage didn't want to win the game(s), but I am saying when they met the CH Bulldogs it wasn't in district and it wasn't a playoff game meaning it wasn't a must win situation. Plus, in 2010 we had a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball. Carthage is a different team in October, November and December than they are in September.
  8. The Bulldogs will gladly welcome your visit. Safe travels.
  9. I love the fact we did a bond for this scoreboard/video board. Yes, it is a luxury to have it, but if we don't spend the money it goes to the state. It's funny, it seems the people who come on here bashing Carthage for building it don't know all the facts or understand how Robin Hood works. Tatum has understood the program for years yet I don't remember TISD ever being raked over the coals for all their new builds like CISD has been over this scoreboard.
  10. All Carthage is known for? The Eagles going to light up that scoreboard? Will probably be a good game.
  11. Hater alert, and as long as Surratt is head coach in Carthage I like our chances..
  12. Everyone knows the real reason he left Carthage for Beckville is because he'd start at QB in Beckville, while Boggie would start at QB in Carthage. He may just have really wanted to play QB his senior year and knew he wouldn't get to be the starter for the Bulldogs. Just call it what it really is.
  13. First off, I can't believe there are four people alive who thinks there were 22 better players at Longview last year than Jalen Overstreet. That has got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on SDC. Second, if Overstreet had been at Longview he would've started at QB and you Lobo fans would think he's one of the best athletic quarterbacks to have ever played at Longview and you'd be on here singing his praises about how he's such a stud at 6'2" 210 lbs and how he was signed by UT. Since he was at Tatum y'all immediately want to say he wouldn't put up those numbers in 5A. I agree to a point the competition has something to do with overall stats and such, but I don't think just because a guy played in classification 1A through 3A means he's not a beast. 4A and 5A high school football isn't the only football being played in Texas on Friday nights. Colt McCoy, Jordan and Jaxson Shipley pretty good players at the next level? How about Billy Sims and Travis Lewis (6 Man in Oklahoma) or Quan Cosby out of Mart? Didn't Quan do pretty well at UT a few years back at WR only being about 5'9"? I don't care about where a player is from or what classification he played in. I don't care how big a guy is or how fast his 40 time is. I like to know if the guy can play ball! Good 40 times are nice, but does the player have good live game speed and can he flat out play? Michael Irvin's 40 time was 4.6, and that's plenty fast. If he'd run a 4.6 and was coming out in last year's NFL draft people would be screaming about how "slow" he is when really those 40 times don't mean nearly as much as we all make them out to be. Jerry Rice ran something like a 4.5 or 4.6 too. I said all that to relate it to this - you can feel all good about your Lobos playing in 5A and boast about that and we all know some of the Lobo fans will always discount a player's abilities if he plays in 3A or below, but if a dude can play ball he can play ball no matter where he graduates high school from. Jalen Overstreet was a beast at Tatum and he wouldn't have allowed Caraway onto the feel at QB unless it was as a backup.
  14. Typer, you son of gun, for as often as you used to aggravate me there have been several times where your fake, over the top backing of the Longhorns has tickled me, and this is one of them. I have to hand it to you this post made me laugh. Goon!
  15. I have been a Longhorn fan my entire life well before going to and graduating from UT Tyler. UT Tyler isn't the same as being able to say I graduated from UT Austin. So, I consider myself a lifelong t-shirt fan of the Longhorns. I was pulling for UT when they were still in the SWC, when the won the last year of the SWC and then won the very first year of the Big 12 conference. Also, having to endure seasons like 1997, and then came the Mack Brown era. I was a fan way before 4th and 5 national championship on the line against the so-called greatest college football team ever. It was a beating (literally) dying for the Longhorns to somehow beat OU in the early 2000s when we couldn't even compete with them. They embarrassed the Longhorns every October and it was painful to endure, but the next day I'd wear something burnt orange. I do this funny thing where if UT wins I don't wear any UT apparel the next day, but if they lose a football game or get knocked out of the basketball tournament or something like that I'll wear something UT to show support for them win or lose. I don't know why I do that, but I like it. Hook 'em
