Well...there you go again. Show everyone the numbers that indicate Gunter cheats on snapshot day. Not even close until 2022 and if I was going to fudge the numbers I would have done it by way more than 4 students, not knowing what the cutoff would be.

Maybe you need more than 8 posts on this board before you go off. I retract the comments about cheating and worrying, mainly because i know Bells does not fear Gunter, but they might worry about losing due to an unlevel field. If we have been barely squeaking by at alignment time show us the numbers, that is all I would ask. Fact is we have not been close to D1 until the 2022 alignment. I apologize not to you ,but to Obi, who rarely gets in the fray. I think I have said enough.

I did. I read the same as the first time "can only stay within single digits of the cutoff for so long", when in fact that is the only time I remember being within single digits. Other time we went UP by 0.5 students. You are implying that Gunter is able to barely squeeze by each year when in fact it it the first time we ever sniffed div 1. Bask in Gunter's perceived loss for now. Come fall we'll see how it goes.....maybe we'll be battling Howe for a playoff spot.

Go back and find the last time Gunter was within single digits of going up. Certainly not 2020 where Gunter turned in 323 and the cutoff was 350. For 2018 Gunter had 296 enrollment and the cutoff was 334. Let us know how many times exactly, if ever we have been within single digits, not that it matters - 0.5 seems to be enough. Don't worry, most likely Gunter goes up 2024 and you won't have to play us anymore.

I didn't figure on Bells crying about it one way or another. Or any other member of our district frankly. Other than 0-14 Leonard. Thought we all got along pretty well. Good luck, it should be competitive this fall. You just accused Gunter of cheating on the alignment. Back when we went to the old 2A from 1A by 0.5 students. We were the smallest team in our class for several years. I guess if you can't beat us you can accuse us of cheating.

I don't know but the new coach is also the receivers coach at Gunter. Not sure what is sinister about Gunter having one of their coaches be the special teams coordinator in addition to their position coach job. Seems to work.

So let me get this straight. A team has a player that moves to another school, much smaller so they will never meet head to head. They are butt hurt for losing the kid so they decide if he doesn't want to go to school at Sherman and leaves, they can just check a box that they read the kid's mind (and his dad) and know for a fact that he left for athletic reasons. Says a lot for what Sherman thinks about their own football teams that they would say basically he left to be on a better team. That all they have to do to ruin the kid's life is check a box and the DEC HAS to decline eligibility? I find that hard to believe. So why did the chairman of the DEC even need to show up at the meeting unless it was to offer reasons to deny the appeal? Chairman is the Blue Ridge superintendent. BR head coach is former Gunter OC who reportedly promised that they would beat Gunter in 2 years when he met with the players, and that is not exactly the words he used. There was a similar transfer from Denison to Pottsboro a few years ago. Denison, with the class they have, they didn't fight it as far as I know. I know the kid started at QB for Pottsboro. Somebody can shed some light on this. Why did that kid get to play and Grant doesn't? The rules are that the DEC and the UIL and pick and choose who gets to play and who doesn't - there IS no rule when it comes down to it. Probably who you know.

I'm shocked that the rest of the district agreed with the UIL. I'm sure there are lots of emails and texts beween coaches and ADs in our district and the Sherman AD and coaches. Sherman stating that the move was for sports reasons is really objective evidence.

At risk of getting into private people's lives one more thing. If they are divorced and the step brothers don't live in the same household I wonder why both of them decided to transfer to Gunter coincidentally at the same time. If one of them transferred to be in a better football program then both of them did. I think Sherman comes out looking pretty petty in this whole deal. But that's just me.

I thought it was ironic that the Sherman coach (former OC) who is freely leaving to go to Leonard spoke at the meeting. I also don't understand why one kid in the same household would be OK and the other not.

Please elaborate. I feel sorry for our Tiger team. Now we only have 4 solid QB prospects. We'll limp along and probably lose to Howe now and get 5th in the district.

They pretty much have their own Sherman transfers. Just my guess.

I don't know it strikes me kinda funny a 5A program fighting a little 3A school over a player if that turns out to be the case. Seems to me if the kid is a star that it would be the rest of Gunter's district that would be doing the complaining.

It is very strange. Something going on there. The replacement will have some big shoes to fill.

Gunter JV only lost to Celina so pretty sure Bells JV was not undefeated unless they didn't play Gunter.

I don't suppose there could be any sour grapes there. If the man can't coach he is not going to be hired by Gunter. Excellent staff all the way. We don't need a QB, we have 3. And we don't have a Buddy Garrity either. Nobody "went after" anybody.
