  1. I have a moral objection to gambling...which makes me a hypocrite because I did make a trip to the casino in Durant, Ok...mostly because I wanted to eat at a Guy Fieri restaurant (fyi...the Mac and cheese burger is awesome). I let temptation get the better of me and decided to play a $0.05 slot machine. Third or fourth spin I won $18. I cashed out (Im a real high roller lol)...got me a Diet Coke...and sat there people watching until my wife was finished.
  2. Probably. This country is so saturated with guns at this point that I dont think anything can really be done about it. On the one hand we need to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals (as much as possible)but on the other hand it is important to protect the 2A rights of law abiding gun owners. It is an impossible situation.
  3. Yes, it is. Problem is that it only takes a very small percentage of 400,000,000 guns to equal a heck of a lot of death and injury. It is imo unrealistic to think that having far fewer guns floating around is not a big part of the reason that peer nations have far lower gun homicide rates (and homicide rates in general) than we do. The easy availability of guns in our society also play a big part in the number of "successful" suicides.
  4. The gun homicide rate in the US is many times higher than in other advanced nations...why do we have "a people problem" and they apparently do not? I have been a gun owner since I was a teenager and my guns have never harmed anyone...but I think it is also unrealistic to believe that the sheer number of guns floating around the US does not play a part in our high rate of shootings.
  5. Rick and Ilse...my #1 all time fav movie. Favorite scene is when Sam tells Rick "Let's take the car and drive all night. We can get drunk and go fishing and stay away until she is gone".
  6. Is it a "big screen" film thats worth the cost of going to the movies? Or wait for streaming?
  7. Lots of reasons for inflation. $trillions of govt spending...supply chains have been a wreck since the pandemic...and corporate greed also plays a big part.
  8. I was not referring to your photo...but all the hype that was (imo) way over blown.
  9. That was what all the hoopla was about? Meh................
  10. I a'int eating no nutria rat .
  11. Ordered take out pizza from a national chain and were charged extra for the little packets of parmesan and red pepper flakes. Ordered fish tacos at a dine in restaurant and were charged a random 4% fee that I did not know about until the check arrived. Is this the future in the restaurant industry? Nickel and diming customers (like the airlines) rather than pricing their products appropriately?
  12. We did both of those things last month . Fyi...most of the Pacific War Museum is open but a section is closed for renovation until (I think) this fall. Coopers was awesome (as always)...the little motel across the road from Coopers...not so much.
  13. If true...this is vile. ***I went directly to WH.gov and I can not find anything about this*** I suspect it is not true.
  14. Nothing inherently wrong with Pres Trump selling Bibles...but considering his history (Grab'em by the what?) the optics of it are not good.
  15. Me too. Got out of cc debt in 2018 and went entirely to debit cards.
  16. A well off man once told me that "Money begats money. Poor people work for their money...rich peoples money works for them".
  17. Yes we should. I'm going to brag on Mrs EnjoyLife for a moment. In 2023 she read the Bible from cover to cover...from Genesis to Revelation. Took her until the evening of December 31st...but she got it done lol.
  18. Mechanical failure and/or human error.
  19. Something about this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully he will take the time to actually read one of those Bibles...including "Two Corinthians".
  20. In fairness...Dollar Tree is just adding more expensive items to their stores. They started carrying $3-$5 items several years ago. You can actually buy a frozen, ribeye steak at DT for $3. Yeah...it is about what you would expect from a $3 ribeye lol.
  21. Idk if the media intentionally mis-represented this...or if they just jumped the gun on deciding who was at fault. Most of the time a teenage boy is more likely to be at fault than an older man...but that was not the case this time.
