  1. Maybe so, but I love how people on these forums anoint themselves Forum Administrator and try to tell people when to express an opinion and when not. We have had Colonel Nathan Jessup and Mack Brown telling us what and how to post. If you don't want to see the posts, why don't you go to the other forum? I will get off when I am good and ready!
  2. There is an old saying: 'Winners tell stories, losers say "move on".
  3. Yes, I did. What were you watching? Celina was doing the same thing they did in the first half. The interceptions came later, after Celina really needed to score at a more rapid pace. The fumble, 2 interceptions and the botched onside kick were very damaging, but the defense couldn't stop Henderson in the 2nd half. Will you come on this board and say you were wrong when Celina gets to the championship game in the near future?
  4. tenone- BTW, the 90s called, and they are looking for you. You don't know what GA would have done in 2012.
  5. I don't think that was the problem. They were still running, and throwing as in the first half. The Defense just couldn't stop Henderson in the 2nd half.
  6. Mafia- I get it. "Stop posting any opinions that someone may disagree with!" Does that really make any sense on an opinion board?
  7. I doubt Celina will ever get back to 2A. It is only growing and will continue to grow. I don't think Celina was afraid to play Melissa but the game was cancelled due to lightning, while on both sides of Celina (Gunter and Prosper), they played their games that evening, after the storms moved out. The game was not rescheduled. It does make me wonder, as well. Those teams you mentioned are very good and we really haven't beaten an East Texas team in quite a while. However, I still would never say this team, or any team, is completely done. I really think Bill Elliot is every bit as good a coach as Coach Ford, and he will figure this out. GA Moore is a legend and measuring up to him would not ever be easy. There is a lot of material coming up and I think Bill will make the required adjustments.
  8. TrueLionKing- I meant to reply several days ago to this post but didn't have time to get on the thread. In 2010, Celina played Lovejoy in playoff week 2, minus the Lovejoy starters, and was defeated 17-0. The following week, Lovejoy played Henderson in Hanby stadium, and Lions won 36-14. To what regular season matchup are you referring? I am confused by your post?
  9. Good luck against Gilmer. For them to dismantle Argyle as they did, they must be very good (oh, did I criticize Argyle? wouldn't want to upset anyone...). I am a little surprised that you guys only lost 28-26 the first go round, though. Your offense is fairly one dimensional (but that 1 dimension is lights out) and your defense didn't seem that strong (not taking anything away from our offense, but Argyle completely shut us down - 58 yards total offense). I would like to go to that game. You all were saying it will be in a smaller stadium where there might not be enough seats? I don't want to fight for a seat, that is why I love the spacious stadiums in the playoffs.
  10. OK, tenonetempo. Couldn't give some reasoning behind your opinion? Really, I would rather see a well thought out wrong argument, then one that has no reinforcement, at all. Is it fun to make those kind of posts? How can we exchange ideas with that kind of nonsense? On the other hand, I do see why you may not want to, since people on this thread can't handle any type of disagreement with their opinions.
  11. He injured the ankle in the Perryton game (week 5). I think he may have aggravated it, last night. I think it slowed him down a bit. He is really a good kid and has tremendous potential. We have some quality kids coming back such as DeShawn Davis (#33), Braylon Brown (#2), Micah Nelson (#10), Torbert (#11), Nick Grant (#5), Cash Condor (#7) along with Elliot the QB. There are a few others, as well. Should be pretty competitive next year. Not sure what we have coming back for lineman, however. BTW, Brown and Wright are really powerful and fast runners. Tremendous, really.
  12. If you saw the talent and numbers that Celina has coming up, from 6th, 7th, 8th grade and above, you wouldn't say that. Bill Eliot is a good coach and I say they are not done.
  13. You know nothing about me, but, because you throw your name on an anonymous forum board and act tough, I know a lot about you. But, just for the record, my son graduated in 2008. In any case, I was wondering, will you continue to donate training equipment, coach 7 on 7 and take pictures on the sidelines, now that your kids have completed their Senior year?
  14. Hlion, Gatordaze is a one-way guy. From his posts, he was always more interested in promoting his sons ahead of the team. This guy spent many hours in the coaches offices and was even on the field for practices and games. That would be another one of my suggestions to the coaches. Keep all parents off the practice/game field, out of the locker room and treat them all the same. Address their concerns, when they have them, but don't play favorites. It makes it too difficult when you might need to make a decision to play someone ahead of their kid, if he isn't quite performing as well.
  15. I think 64-35 sort of speaks for itself, HLion and TrueLion. Monsta Brown and Wright were just tremendous. Bill and the Celina coaches really need sit down and think about what needs to be done to bring Celina back. They played an excellent first half but had no answer for #3 and #25 in the second half. #22 made 2 truly outstanding plays, as well. Meeks is definitely a good coach but Henderson really hasn't been a storied program, like Celina. Maybe, there is no hand-wringing about when you will ever defeat Gilmer, or win the district, but I think a lot of Celina people are accustomed to aiming for perfection and attaining excellence along the way. We don't want to be mediocre and play in a state championship once every 10 years or so. Does it really hurt to question your principles or maybe the the others are right, address it in the proper setting. I will say that most of the Celina people who post here, are really clueless about football and I mean no disrespect. When people move here, they think they suddenly are top tier football coaches in waiting, because they live in Celina. You guys seem to be very restrained and most haven't exaggerated the abilities of the Lion players. I think you have a good team, but the defense just isn't good enough to win a State Championship, this year. We shall see, however. Good luck against Gilmer. Last night's game was a heck of a game to watch. I still stand by my opinion the the Celina pre-district schedule must get tougher. Would Meeks have moved Monsta to QB if you were playing patsies every week and winning by 30-40 points?
