  1. You're right about that. If any of those teams ever lost a championship game they would look right into the mirror and tell you who was to blame. I know there are a lot of folks here that qualify to talk about this but there are some who have never won a state championship and don't understand just how difficult it is to do regardless of what level it is on. A state championship is a state championship and it can humble you more than anything because once had, yourself and others will hold you to a higher standard. Once done then expectations change. Some teams who have multiple championships have fans that don't even attend a game until the playoffs start. Whether you think winning a championship at any level is easy or hard, just try it.
  2. God said, "The voice of Abels blood crieth unto me from the ground." Innocent blood. Pilate said, "In this man I can find no fault."
  3. I can even be thankful for the critics and non-believers. I had better be ready to defend my hope and they help by giving a little more motivation. They don't know and don't want anyone else saying they know. The truth is we all need to just surrender and acknowledge God for being God and stop kicking against the priks. Instead of finding reasons why God does not exist, we should be taking comfort in his presence. It's Ok though. Many, many sermons have been preached from the epistles written in the New Testament of the Bible by a converted Christian killer. This is how God works.
  4. Counterfeits? Satan himself is a Bible scholar. He knows what is written. Good thing Jesus knew what was written while in the wilderness with Satan. "Know ye not that it is written?" How else would you know if you were hearing a lie? Who is the father of all liars? Do you know what the Bible really says? It will be the only worth you have that will not melt with fervent heat. 'The Book of Eli' was a good movie.
  5. Your obitiuary probably won't mention what nationality you were but it will say what faith you were and what church you were a member of. Why? Because that's what really matters.
  6. I wouldn't go declaring that Malakoff is the new Sheriff in town yet. There is a small detail that may give Daingerfield the edge over Malakoff when it comes to winning a football game. A couple steps back? http://youtu.be/liF5eRUIAiI
  7. Kooldown brought up a point on the DF vs NB thread that I would like to get your thoughts on. That NB had consumed so much of themselves in the win against DF that it left NB almost running on fumes when they played and lost to Wall. We know about that playoff fuel and its scarcity. You have to bring enough for the run you expect to take. The reason I bring it up is because I noticed a few teams last season that had a tough preseason schedule not to mention being in a tough district took its toll on a few teams with injuries and just being beat down. I do think it wise to challenge your team in pre season but how would you do that and still be ready for a long playoff run and at the top of your game? Any thoughts?
  8. You guys are all over this. You definitely know your stuff when it comes to football.
  9. The mobile qb is not the future NFL qb. We all know who the best qb's are and have been and they are not good runners, they are qb's that stand in the pocket, make quick decisions and good passes.
  10. Some one dimensional offenses (run based) depend on a formidable defense in order to be effective. I know it sounds strange but it's true. That is how powerful our first nature is, geared to react on instinctive provocation, in reality reacting to smoke and mirrors or what was thought to be seen. Working like a vaccine, it is a false alarm.
  11. So if your team is taking possession via kickoffs, that's not much defense. Refugio vs Rodgers 2013. Super Bowl XLII only 10 points were scored in first 3 quarters. That game could be summed up by saying the Giants stopped the Patriots (Brady). But at the same time, Eli led the Giants on that final td drive that changed the scoreboard in their favor.
  12. When points are protected, opportunities are given to score more points. At the very bottom of this, points win games. The most points.
  13. As noted, one of the most one dimensional teams. They knew it and their opponents knew it. http://youtu.be/3KLh2zxeNXo
  14. The offensive line and receivers make a good passing qb by creating two things, a pocket and separation. Unfortunately that is not all that is needed. The qb himself must have vision and the ability to throw good passes and to know that he has 3 seconds to release the ball. He will also not be easily shaken. The one that has an air about him, a quiet confidence, a leader.
