  1. District 8-official Corsicana Ennis Forney Greenville Kaufman North Forney Royse City Sulphur Springs Terrell
  2. District 5A-II-9: Hallsville Jacksonville Lindale Longview Pine Tree Marshall Mount Pleasant Nacogdoches Whitehouse
  3. Our new district, District 5A-II-8: Corsicana Ennis Forney Greenville Kauman North Forney Royse City Sulphur Springs Terrell ... Looks like we're not even in the same region anymore. ... And our basketball/volleyball district, just to make it more confusing, is District 15: Greenville Lindale Mount Pleasant Royse City Sulphur Springs Texarkana Texas
  4. I still think we're gonna get Princeton and Denison instead of Corsicana and Ennis, but I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
  5. Thanks, man. I still plan on coming onto the boards pretty frequently during football season, even if we're moved back west.
  6. In other news, we're about 17 hours out from finding out our new travel plans for the next two years...
  7. I thought it was February 2, myself. And that if we got a district rival we hadn’t played in a decade or more, we’d get six more weeks of winter.
  8. The way it's gone, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they sent us down to Cleveland.
  9. District 1 would look like a 2-horse race between North Forney and Kaufman.
  10. Just wanted to say congrats to former Greenville Lions RB Carandal Hale for helping Texas A&M-Commerce advance to the Division II National Semifinals for the first time ever (in any sport.) 10 carries for 41 yards and 9 receptions for 52 yards against the top-ranked defense in the D-II nation. (I know, it's not the college football forum, but it's a GHS grad so I'm going to count it. )
  11. Hey, you just asked who gained. Not who gained that mattered.
  12. OK...assuming Royse City and Sulphur Springs are back in our district... 1) North Garland. Keep this one from the last 4 years. 6A squad that we play pretty evenly. 2) Terrell. Bring back our old rivalry with Jamie Foxx High. 3) Paris. Our all-time most-played rival. Yes, there's a size difference (as it is with Terrell), but rivalries are rivalries. 4) Rockwall or Rockwall-Heath. Swing for the fences. We'd probably get wiped out, but gain some valuable experience in the process. Rockwall was our last win before our 4-year losing streak. 5) Pine Tree. Yes, it's a long way to travel, especially for what would be non-district. But these games we've played against the Pirates have all been close and entertaining. 2 4A teams, 2 6A teams, and a 5A about our size, various talent levels, and rekindle some bad blood in the process.
  13. ...so that happened... Good luck to our playoff teams next week.
  14. 9th Grade: Greenville 42, Mount Pleasant 0. Greenville 9th grade finishes the season 7-3. 3-3 in district. JV: Greenville 35, Mount Pleasant 8. Lost track of their record.
  15. 9th Grade: Greenville 42, Mount Pleasant 0. Greenville 9th grade finishes the season 7-3. JV: Greenville 35, Mount Pleasant 8.
  16. The way we’ve played since losing Nick Mapps, losing to Mount Pleasant would not be an upset. We completely cratered last week. Granted, we were a couple inches away from only losing by seven (recreating the Jets “fumble” over the end zone corner against the Patriots in the fourth quarter), but we had no business winning that game. Too many mistakes, way too many broken attempts at arm tackles, and not nearly enough chances taken by the coaching staff. This year’s been a good learning experience though, and hopefully just the beginning of something big brewing here. Mapps and QB Jarvis will both be back next year. I plan to stick around as well, even if we get pingponged back to the Metromess. ...and no, our fight song isn’t going anywhere. If it’s taken from another school/college/hymn, I sure haven’t heard it. Crandall Pirates stole theirs from Disney though, spread the word. Other games: SS by 17, Marshall by 21, T-high by 14
  17. Sloppy game. Several turnovers for both sides, but ours has been by far more costly. We look like we’ve put way too much pressure on ourselves and came out flat. Hopefully Coach Duke can settle them down in the locker room. At halftime, SS leads 14-0.
  18. Already a playoff atmosphere here at Prim. Both sides are packed with fans.
  19. I hear that SS rebuilt their stadium this year. Any chance they did anything about the nonexistent visitor parking? Edit: never mind, I found an article on it. Looks like they took down the old baseball field behind the visitors stands and made that a new parking lot.
