  1. All I knew is that they were all 9th Graders. They played pretty well from what i hear.
  2. Carlisle JV - 34 Tatum 9th - 0
  3. Ha, Just a good listener. You can learn alot from listening to conversation between a couple of proud fathers that are sitting right behind you at a ball game. Maybe you should try it sometime! Like I said in my SHORT STORY, I have no idea how much of that was true.
  4. I hear there are some JV kids that could have gotten plenty of playing time on varsity this year with their level of play they have shown on the JV. I also hear there is definately some speed down there to reinforce what the varsity now has.
  5. Didn't Carlisie JV Beat West Rusks JV pretty bad? Thats what I heard anyway.
  6. Thanks. Is he going to be back for playoffs? I was sceptical about how much potential they had at Carlisle until I saw them play last week. I think Big Sandy had a good team. I don't think Big Sandy is the same caliber as Garrison or some of the other playoff bound teams from around the state, but with a little good fortune it appears Carlisle my be able to be competitive on that level. We'll see a suppose. I hope they can have success in post season. Thanks again
  7. I understand completely. :) I still wish someone could tell me if their middle linebacker was injured and not playing in the Big Sandy game. I was looking at the program and noticed #40 from Carlisle was a sophomore. He is a tremendous defensive player. He will be one to be reakoned with for a couple of more years. I chose to sit on the home side since it was a higher view and I overheard some of the home side people from Carlisle say the last years JV never lost a game and played 2A JV's and 3A and 4A Freshman teams including Palistine's Freshman team. They said that most of our district teams didn't field a JV for games so they schedule stronger competition at the level. I wonder how much of that is true since I have no clue who I was overhearing. I also heard them say that the only game they lost this year was to Tatum's Freshman team and by one touchdown. If all of that is true, it would probably mean they are poised to be strong contenders at the varsity level for several years to come. Playing in real game situations against formidable opponants and gaining all the game exeriance is a comodity in 1A football.
  8. I watched them play Big Sandy the other night, and I didn't see any third stringers on the Varsity. They suited up 22 from my count and as far as I could tell they all played. About 8 of them seemed to get at least a good quarter or 2 quarters of playing time each. They have good athletes on the sidelines, so it didn't seem to effect the overall performance of the team on the field when there were 2 or 3 subs in at one time. On the injury note, I understand the Carlisle team was playing without thier starting middle Linebacker last week. I overheard someone say he had gotten hurt in the James Bowie game the week before. Not sure if that is accurate though.
  9. Hasn't this game always been a big rivilry? It doesn't seem to have that atmosphere this year. Seems from this thread that it just doesn't seem to generate much interest.

  12. I am having a hard time believing that people actually think the refs would have made a difference in this game. The score was 43 to 6. You're kidding right??? Carlisle could have put way more points on the board had they wanted to. The coach hardly let them throw the ball at all. They didn't even have to run many plays at all. They basically just snapped the ball to the quarterback and he would just run around for a gain of some sort. If they would have mixed up the play calling like they would in a close game, or had really used all their offensive weapons it would have been really ugly. I would be interested to see just how many calls would have had any real effect on the outcome of the game. Please tell me what I am missing here!
  13. It should be ugly by end of the first half and only get worse after that.
  14. Seriously, you don't really think that another set of officials would have changed the outcome of THIS game do you? I finally got to go see Carlisle play, and from what I saw, Carlisle dominated Big Sandy. And NO, I don't have any kids or kin that play down there. I just know what I observed. Hope everything works out for the Carlisle kid that came back out of the locker room on crutches after he went down with an injury. If Carlisle gets him and their middle linebacker back in the game they could truly be hard to beat with a healthy group of players. Good luck to both Big Sandy and Carlisle the rest of the way.
