Lane (6'2 - 185) held more than 30 offers from across the country including Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ohio State, LSU, UCLA, Miami and defending national champion Florida State. Congratulations to Jaylon and the Nacogdoches program.

  20. Newton RB Kevin Shorter, 6'0 - 186 lbs, has verbally committed to the University of Texas. He held offers from some of the top programs in the country including Texas A&M, Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Florida State. He enters his senior season third in school history in both total rushing yards (2,960) and rushing touchdowns (43). Shorter chose the Longhorns over a final three that also included the Aggies and Razorbacks. He joins Jasper OL Terrell Cuney and Longview WR Dorian Leonard as 2014 East Texas players committed to UT.
  21. Nacogdoches DE Greg Roberts has committed to Baylor. He's the second East Texas commit for the Bears joining Liberty-Eylau's Davion Hall who verballed to BU in February.
  22. That was not a TD catch for Carthage although the officials said otherwise. He was clearly out of bounds. But kudos to the Bulldogs, because they then convert the 2 pt. conversion to make it 14-8 WH heading into the half.
